Video: 51% of Huntsman Voters Satisfied With Obama

January 10, 2012 at 11:47 pm (2012 Election, Democrats, Fox News, Jon Huntsman, New Hampshire, Republicans)

Just to reiterate, Jon Huntsman is practically a Democrat.

And so apparently, are his supporters.  Was this a version of Rush Limbaugh’s Operation Chaos, with a lot of “independents” trying to toss in votes for Huntsman?

Even so, how do you find 51% of anyone, outside of an asylum, who thinks Obama is a satisfactory President?

From the Gateway Pundit:

Governor Jon Huntsman took third place tonight in New Hampshire. In the exit polls, 51% of Huntsman voters said they were satisfied with Obama as president. 70% of the Huntsman voters describe themselves as moderate and liberals.

Romney Takes New Hampshire

January 10, 2012 at 11:12 pm (2012 Election, Jon Huntsman, Mitt Romney, New Hampshire, Newt Gingrich, President Obama, Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul)

On to South Carolina

Nothing surprising here – Mitt Romney is projected to win New Hampshire by double digits, with Ron Paul coming in second.  The head-scratcher here is Rick Perry, finishing a distant sixth.  Perhaps this will be a sign to suspend his campaign, and spend time trying to figure out that third branch of government he’d like to eliminate.

Gingrich and Santorum are battling it out for fourth, with Jon Huntsman, a moderate with no money, no name recognition, and no redeeming value as a GOP candidate, finishing third.

Fox News calls it:

Mitt Romney has won the New Hampshire primary, Fox News projects, notching back-to-back victories in the first two contests of the presidential nominating season.

Fox News also projects that Ron Paul will finish second and Jon Huntsman will finish third. Rick Perry is projected to finish in sixth place — the rest of the night is shaping up to be a race for fourth, between Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum. Both candidates are pulling in 10 percent of the vote.

“Tonight, we made history,” Romney said. “Tonight we celebrate, tomorrow we go back to work.”

This should pick off a few pretenders heading into South Carolina.  If Mitt wins SC, it’ll be wrapped up…

Shocker! Obama Playing the Race Card

January 10, 2012 at 5:27 pm (Democrats, Latino, Michelle Obama, President Obama, Race, Racism, Republicans)

At some point, the Obama administration will have officially played the race card so much, that it will become completely irrelevant.  How we haven’t hit that point yet is beyond me – but if Obama himself is using it, then his internal polling is indicating it’s effectiveness.

Via White House Dossier:

At a Washington fundraiser Monday night, President Obama subtly played the race card, suggesting that Republican presidential candidates would deny people opportunity based on the color of their skin.

The post then goes on to demonstrate three separate occasions in which either President Obama,or Michelle Obama, tried hinting that Republican Presidential candidates would deny people opportunity based on skin color or class.

First, the President at a Washington fundraiser:

Everything we fought for during the last election is at stake in this election. The very core of what this country stands for is on the line — the basic promise that no matter what you look like, no matter where you come from, this is a place where you could make it if you try.  The notion that we’re all in this together, that we look out for one another — that’s at stake in this election.  Don’t take my word for it.  Watch some of these debates that have been going on up in New Hampshire.

Then, to a Latino group in October:

I believe America should be a place where you can always make it if you try; a place where every child, no matter what they look like, where they come from, should have a chance to succeed . . . I still believe in that America.  I believe we can be that America again.

And finally Michelle during another October fundraiser:

Will we be a country where opportunity is limited to just the few at the top?  Or will we give every child — every child  — a chance to succeed, no matter where she’s from, or what she looks like, or how much money her parents are?  Who are we?  That’s what’s at stake here.

If only Republicans govern with looks, race, and class in mind, then why is it the President who is always talking about looks, race, and class?

MMA Fighter Getting Beat Up Over Obama Remarks

January 10, 2012 at 3:03 pm (Comedy, First Amendment, Free Speech, Gene Policinski, Jacob Volkmann, Minnesota, President Obama, White Bear Lake School District)

Jacob Volkmann is a mixed martial arts fighter who also works as an assistant wrestling coach at the White Bear Lake School District in Minnesota.

Recently, Volkmann cracked an obvious joke about President Obama.  A relatively tame joke at that.

The lesson the school decided to teach their kids?  Exercise free speech and you may pay a price.  Volkmann has been suspended from his job.

Fox News has reported on the overreaction…

Jacob Volkmann, 31, of White Bear Lake, Minn., said he was placed on paid administrative leave on Friday by the White Bear Lake School District after he invited Obama to make an appointment with him for a “glass-ectomy” on Dec. 30.

“A glass-ectomy is when you cut your belly button out and put a piece of glass in there so when you have your head up your butt you can see where you’re going,” Volkmann told a reporter following his victory over Efrain Escudero at UFC 141.

If anything, Volkmann should be sent to a comedy club to work on his material.  The joke is terrible.

Gene Policinski, senior vice president and executive director of the First Amendment Center, puts things in context:

“That sounds more like a vulgar remark than a threat, at least on the surface,” Policinski said of Volkmann’s “glass-ectomy” comment. “The First Amendment doesn’t mandate civility, even though we may wish it did. One person’s vulgarity is another person’s off-handed remark.”

Overreaction, or proper punishment?

Homeland Security? Government Resorts to Asking People if They’re Terrorists

January 10, 2012 at 11:52 am (Department of Homeland Security, DHS, Maggie Thurber, National Defense, Ohio, Terrorism, Terrorist)

Is this the Department of Homeland Security?  Or Keystone Kops?

The government is now apparently fighting terrorism via the honor system.  Because everybody knows, a suicidal jihadist’s best trait is honesty.  Seriously. I’d say anyone enrolled in a homeland security program should just drop out now. Their tactics continue to reach inconceivable levels.

A new form is being required by individuals wishing to renew their aircraft registration.  It is known as the Declaration Regarding Material Assistance/Non-Assistance to a Terrorist Organization (DMA).

The title itself requires more brain cells to read than were used to develop the very questions it contains.

From Maggie Thurber:

A friend was renewing his Ohio aircraft registration and mentioned a form that he was required to fill out, affirming that he’s not a terrorist and hasn’t helped any designated terrorist organizations.

It’s known as the Declaration Regarding Material Assistance/Non-Assistance to a Terrorist Organization (DMA) form and it contains the following questions to which you’re supposed to check a yes or no box.

And here is the first question:

1. Are you a member of an organization on the U.S. Department of State Terrorist Exclusion List?

I wonder if they have ever had a documented instance in which somebody answered yes to this question.

Now, pick your jaw up off the floor and go read the rest…
