Weekend Recession: Andrew Breitbart’s 2012 CPAC Speech

March 3, 2012 at 3:07 pm (Andrew Breitbart, Breitbart, Candidate, Conservative, CPAC, GOP, Kurt Cobain, Media, Republican, Speech, Susie Bean, Weekend Recession)

Normally, we like to leave you with something funny to look at over the weekend – whether it’s Elmo singing ‘I’m Sexy and I know It’, or a baby playing ping-pong, etc…

But the world become a little less funnier this week with the unexpected announcement that conservative media icon, Andrew Breitbart, had passed away.

Breitbart was essentially the Kurt Cobain of political media, saying things that were on the minds of conservatives, but delivered in a way that only he could.  He was bright, funny, accommodating, and by all accounts the hardest working man in media.

So this weekend we are simply giving you the complete clip from his speech at CPAC, just a few weeks ago.  It is funny in and of itself, but again ends with a tremendously important point that can’t be stressed enough:

I don’t care who our candidate is and I haven’t since the beginning of this. I haven’t! Ask not what the candidate can do for you, ask what you can do for the candidate! …

When I walk through CPAC or a I travel the United States to meet people in the Tea Party who care – black, white, gay, and straight – anyone that’s willing to stand next to me to fight the progressive left, I will be in that bunker.

And if you’re not in that bunker because you’re not satisfied with [a certain] candidate, more than shame on you! You’re on the other side!

It is also sad to see a man so vibrant and full of energy, that he stole the show at CPAC, and to know that just a short time later he is gone.  But the fight carries on.

Our condolences to his wife, Susie, his four young children, and the rest of his family and friends…

The Secret Service intercepted the messages, he said.
“In both instances, it is alleged that the defendant intended to murder the intended targets,” Murphy wrote on his office’s website. He could not immediately be reached for further comment.
