School That Won’t Release Obama’s Grades Offers Class On "Understanding Obama"

April 11, 2012 at 1:00 pm (Charles Ogletree, Class, College, Course, Daily Caller, Harvard Law School, President Obama, Understanding)

After demonstrating a thorough lack of knowledge regarding the system of checks and balances in government, with his veiled threat directed at the Supreme Court, President Obama certainly raised some eyebrows.

“I used to think some of these right-wingers were kind of nutty demanding to see Obama’s college and law school transcripts. I want to see them now,” Ann Coulter said.

But instead of releasing those college transcripts, Harvard is now offering a course in how to better understand the President.  Because as always, it’s not him, it’s you that is a moron.

Via the Daily Caller:

Not every Harvard Law School alumnus has a class devoted to him — but then, President Barack Obama is not just any alumnus.
According to the Harvard Law School course catalog, professor Charles Ogletree will be teaching a reading group called “Understanding Obama” for one classroom credit during the 2013 spring term.
“This reading group will focus on the way in which race, religion, and politics have impacted the development of President Obama as a leader,” the Harvard Law School Course Catalog explains. “We will explore his views as a biracial child, his time as a student at Harvard Law School, the successes and failures of his political campaigns, and the way religion and his views on faith nearly derailed his campaign. Finally, time will be spent analyzing the challenges he faces as president of the United States in establishing both his domestic and global policies.”
Obama graduated from Harvard Law School in 1991. He was elected the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review in 1990.
Ogletree was a mentor to both President Obama and Michelle Obama while they were Harvard law students.
In an interview, Ogletree explained to The Daily Caller that the reading group will deal with both the positive and negative issues surrounding Obama and his presidency.

Then again who knows, maybe studying his grades and his research papers will be part of the curriculum.

President Obama Can’t Even Get One Specific Guy a Job

April 11, 2012 at 11:00 am (Darin Wedel, Economy, Jobs, Jobs Created, Lives Touched, President Obama, Resume)

Ace of Spades writes:

Remember that live chat Obama did?

Where a woman asked why Obama was issuing so many visas to foreign engineers, when her own husband couldn’t land a job in the field?

And Obama said to forward the resume along, and he’d do what could?

That guy still doesn’t have a job.

Now, aside from the fact that it’s not necessarily the job of the President to indulge in job placement for individuals, would it not have behooved him to make sure this guy was hired somewhere, if for no other reason than to use it as proof that he can create jobs, or excuse me, touch lives?  Instead, it can now be held up as yet another embarrassing example of the President’s economic inability.

As reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram:

More than two months after President Barack Obama asked for Darin Wedel’s résumé, the phone is quiet, e-mails are no longer flooding in and the long-sought-after job interviews — which had begun to be scheduled — have petered out.

“Not even recruiting companies are calling anymore,” said Jennifer Wedel, the Fort Worth mother of two who chatted online this year with Obama about her out-of-work husband.

Human Events explains why this matters:

The “optics” of this story are absolutely horrible for the White House, but it was actually horrible from the moment it began.  The idea that Americans should have to beg the royal court for indulgences – which the court then demonstrates it cannot provide! – is nauseating, and it’s not a new aspect of the Obama presidency.  In the very first weeks of his Administration, he was at a town hall meeting in Florida when a homeless woman asked him for a house, and lo! A house was soon offered, after the President hugged her.
The President loves to govern by anecdote, peppering his speeches with references to all the letters of supplication he receives from the New Poor (formerly known as “the middle class”)  All of these people’s lives will supposedly be shattered if the Obama agenda is opposed.  The childish absurdity of basing the decisions of a titanic mega-government on a handful of personal appeals never occurs to him, or to the media, which congratulates him on his political skill in “personalizing” huge social “crises.”  That’s how the last shreds of cold, hard reason are steamed out of our discussion of the most bankrupt government in history.
It’s Obamanomics in a nutshell: if you’re lucky enough to find your way into his carefully controlled town hall meetings, or you’ve got the right political connections, you can do okay… until things get so bad that His Majesty can no longer wave his hand and cause bounty to be showered upon selected peasants.  Fortunately, Obama can count on the media to downplay this story, instead of treating it as a powerful symbolic moment in a failed presidency, as they would if he were a Republican.

Perhaps the man should be down at the unemployment office seeking some of those famed ‘Obama bucks’.

Planned Parenthood Praying For Abortion Business?

April 11, 2012 at 9:00 am (Abortion, California, Humboldt County, Life, Planned Parenthood, Prayer, Religion, War on Children)

Not sure what kind of prayer is involved with the termination of a child, but that’s not exactly a religion I’d like to be involved with.  This is a bit sickening – another salvo fired in the left’s War on Children.

LifeNews reports:

A local Planned Parenthood abortion business in California is copycatting the 40 Days for Life campaign, which recently resulted in saving the lives of more than 700 unborn children from abortion. The abortion business has set up its own 40 Days of Prayer for the local abortion center.
“We trust you to decide about your sexuality, having your children, and planning your family,” says a flier promoting the Humbolt County Clergy for Choice event. “We are religious leaders who value all human life.  We accept that religions differ about when life begins. We are here to help.”
“We believe that human life is holy. That’s why we believe in your right to choose to be a parent or not,” the pro-abortion religious leaders continue. “It can be helpful to talk with friends you trust, with licensed counselors, and with whatever religious person you choose.  Humboldt County Clergy are available to talk with you about the spiritual aspects of choice.  Find out more by calling Six Rivers Planned Parenthood.”

Holy.  Hell.

How can somebody be so disconnected from reality to say that they ‘believe that human life is holy’ while simultaneously promoting the act of ending life?

The flyer continues to provide specific ‘prayers’ for abortion throughout each of the 40 days, and can be seen below.

Chris Christie: Nation Becoming ‘People Sitting on a Couch Waiting for Their Next Government Check’

April 11, 2012 at 7:00 am (Chris Christie, Compromise, Democrats, George Bush, George W. Bush, Governor, Henry Kissinger, New Jersey, President Obama, Republican)

Is there anyone who can deny the transformation of our country into an entitlement society?  President Food Stamps seen proudly nodding in approval…

Via NJ.com:

Christie spent most of his 30-minute speech on New Jersey budget issues, but brought up national policy toward the end. He said it is the least optimistic period he’s ever seen for the nation.
“It’s because government’s now telling them, stop dreaming, stop striving, we’ll take care of you. We’re turning into a paternalistic entitlement society. That will not just bankrupt us financially, it will bankrupt us morally,” Christie told Bush, Henry Kissinger and an assortment of Republican governors in a theater at the New York Historical Society.
“When the American people no longer believe that this is a place where only their willingness to work hard and to act with honor and integrity and ingenuity determines their success in life, then we’ll have a bunch of people sitting on a couch waiting for their next government check,” Christie said.
Christie never mentioned President Obama by name, but in the past has spoken about the need to reign in entitlement spending for programs like for Social Security and Medicare.

Tina Korbe at Hot Air adds:

Christie wasn’t content to merely point out the negative, though: He launched rapidly into an articulation of an alternate vision, the vision he’s implemented in the state of New Jersey. He cited his recent veto of a millionaire’s tax and his current push for a 10 percent income tax cut as examples of pro-growth policies.

He also had interesting words about the importance of in-person interaction with those with whom we disagree. ”We developed relationships with the other side of the aisle that allowed them to trust us. And that doesn’t happen overnight,” he said.”Day after day after day you have to sit with our colleagues and convince them of the goodness of your spirit and of the understanding that compromise is not a dirty word.”

Here’s where I have to disagree with the Governor.  Isn’t compromise what took place in 2006 when Democrats took over in Congress?  Isn’t compromise what led George W. Bush to abandon his free market principles, leading us down the economic path we’ve been on for several years now?  Here’s an idea – stand on principle.  Don’t compromise for the sake of saying ‘I reached across the aisle’.  Do what’s right.

Bush himself spoke at the conference, refusing to – as he called it – undermine the current President.

Via Weasel Zippers:

Bush said the topic of the conference is how to grow the private sector. He introduced Christie by complimenting his “enormous personality” and “belief in the individual,” saying even Texans had taken note of the governor.
“We admire the courageous stance you take,” said Bush, who nominated Christie to be U.S. Attorney.
“I was a proud member of the Bush administration for seven years,” Christie said, later adding that Bush “inspired a whole new generation of conservative Republican leaders.” […]
“I have decided to stay out of the limelight,” Bush said. “I don’t think it’s good, frankly, for our country to undermine the president and I don’t intend to do so. But I do intend to remain involved in areas that I’m interested in.”

Isn’t it remarkable to see the former President afford Obama a fundamental courtesy that he was never granted during his term?  All class…
