Percentage of Americans Supporting Abortion at Record Low

May 23, 2012 at 11:00 am (Abortion, Democrat, Gallup, Independent, Life, Pro Life, Pro-Choice, Republican)

A newly released Gallup poll shows that the number of Americans identifying themselves as pro-choice has dropped to 41% – a new record low.  At the same time, those identifying as pro-life have risen to 50%.

Via Gallup:

The 41% of Americans who now identify themselves as “pro-choice” is down from 47% last July and is one percentage point below the previous record low in Gallup trends, recorded in May 2009. Fifty percent now call themselves “pro-life,” one point shy of the record high, also from May 2009.

And it isn’t just one particular section of America, as the poll clearly indicates that all three major political groups – Republicans, Independents, and Democrats – are trending in the pro-life direction.

From LifeNews:

Gallup says the decline in Americans’ self-identification as “pro-choice” is seen across the three U.S. political groups — with Republicans increasingly becoming pro-life.

“Since 2001, the majority of Republicans have consistently taken the pro-life position, but by a gradually increasing margin over “pro-choice.” That gap expanded further this year, with the percentage of Republicans identifying as pro-life increasing to 72% from 68% last May, and those identifying as pro-choice dropping to 22% from 28%,” Gallup noted.

Independent voters are also trending pro-life, with Gallup pointing out that the percentage of political independents identifying as pro-choice is 10 points lower today than in May 2011, while the percentage pro-life is up by six points. As a result, pro-lifers now outnumber pro-choicers among this important swing political group for only the second time since 2001, with the first occurring in 2009.

Even Democrats, who support abortion, are trending in the pro-life direction, according to the survey.

“Democrats’ views on abortion have changed the least over the past 12 years, with roughly 60% calling themselves pro-choice and about a third pro-life. Democrats’ identification as pro-choice was above this range in May 2011, but has returned to about 60% in the current poll,” Gallup noted.

Tough Night – Obama Loses Over 40% of the Vote to "Uncommited"

May 23, 2012 at 9:00 am (2012 Election, Arkansas, John Wolfe, Keith Judd, Kentucky, Mitt Romney, President Obama, Primary, Uncommitted)

Can we please stop hearing about the lack of enthusiasm on the Republican side for Mitt Romney?  Obamamania is waning in dramatic fashion in recent days.

In the span of a couple of weeks, Obama has lost delegates to a convicted felon, and now has lost 41% of the vote to an unknown named John Wolfe, and 42% of the vote in a state in which he ran unopposed.

A reminder – these aren’t bipartisan statewide votes, these are Democrat primaries, meaning Democrats themselves are having a tough time punching their ballot for President Obama.

Not to mention, we’re willing to bet there are a large number of Democrats and Independents who are choosing Obama for media polls, but are going to cast their vote against him in November.  It would be the reverse of 2008, where numerous Republicans were saying they would vote for McCain, but opted to pull the lever for Obama, having succumbed to his rock star campaign.

Via the Hill:

Four in ten Democratic voters chose someone other than President Obama on Tuesday in primaries in Arkansas and Kentucky.

In Arkansas, John Wolfe — a perennial, long-shot candidate — took 41 percent of the vote in the Democratic primary, with 71 percent of precincts reporting. Obama came in just under 60 percent. The Associated Press did not call the race for Obama until close to midnight.

And in Kentucky, 42 percent of Democrats chose “uncommitted” rather than cast a vote for the incumbent president. Obama took 58 percent, with 99 percent of precincts reporting.

A Wolfe, a felon, and “uncommitted” are now pulling strong numbers against Obama in the voting booth.  What’s going to happen when he runs against a Mitt?

Illegal Immigrant Drags, Beats, and Attempts to Rape Elderly Woman in Saratoga

May 23, 2012 at 7:00 am (Antonio Lopez-Bautista, Congress Street, Franklin Street, Illegal Immigrant, Kidnap, Rape, Saratoga, Saratoga Springs)

Let’s see … This will make him an illegal alien and convicted felon shortly. Or as Democrats like to call it – a target voter.

Via Fox 23:

A shocking crime in Saratoga Springs as a 67-year-old woman is dragged out of her car and brutally attacked.

Police say the woman was waiting for her husband, just before 4 a.m., in the area of Congress and South Franklin Streets.

They say the suspect tried to pull her to a dark, isolated area as she yelled for help.

A witness told police and when officers arrived, the suspect took off.

He was arrested a short time later hiding under bushes.

Police say the man, 18-year-old Antonio Lopez-Bautista, is in the country illegally.

He’s been charged with attempted kidnapping and attempted rape.
