First Time For Everything – Obama Campaign Forced to Confess Their Lies

August 9, 2012 at 8:08 pm (Bain Capital, Healthcare, Insurance, Joe Soptic, Liar Liar, Mitt Romney, Obama Campaign, President Obama, Priorities USA, SuperPAC, Wife Died, Wife Killed)

Usually when I hear the folks over at the Obama campaign speaking, it takes a matter of minutes and a good internet connection to recognize that what is coming out of their mouths is a slew of lies.  They lie so often, it’s commonplace.

In the case of the Joe Soptic, ‘Mitt Romney killed my wife’ ad, that all changed for the very first time.  Obama and his cohorts were being pummeled so consistently with the fact that they knew this man, they knew his story, and that they coordinated the message with the SuperPAC that ran the ad, that they were finally forced to tell the truth. It is a first for Team O.
It reminded me of this…

Yes, Mr. President and his campaign- the pen is blue.  And now, the jig is up.

While it may mean the freezing over of the seventh circle of hell is inevitable now, as is the aerial ability of swine, the Obama campaign finally had to tell the truth.  How sad it is that the truth meant admitting they had been lying, and lying rather blatantly.

Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki acknowledged Thursday that the campaign was no longer pleading ignorance about the story of a man who has appeared in both a super PAC ad and a campaign ad.

“No one is denying he was in one of our campaign ads. He was on a conference call telling his story,” Psaki told reporters on Air Force One.

Missouri steelworker Joe Soptic starred in an Obama campaign ad and participated in a conference call with the campaign in May, as POLITICO reported Wednesday. He resurfaced this week in a Priorities USA Action super PAC ad, charging that his wife died of cancer after Mitt Romney’s former private equity firm laid him off.

Distancing themselves from the controversial ad, Obama campaign staffers initially denied knowledge of Soptic’s story — despite the fact that he was in an Obama campaign ad.

Adviser Robert Gibbs said he didn’t know “specifics,” while deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter said on CNN: “I don’t know the facts about when Mr. Soptic’s wife got sick or the facts about his health insurance.”

And yesterday on Air Force One, Psaki said, “we don’t have any knowledge of the story of the family.”

As a reminder, this is an ad that Brent Budowsky of the Hill said:

“It is sickening. It is despicable. It is unworthy of a sitting president. It is unworthy of a candidate for president. It is unworthy even of the campaign from hell we are witnessing.”

It is all of these things and more.  The question now is the same thing we would ask our kids in a similar situation – What is worse, the act itself, or the lies trying to cover it up?

Should we really be questioning and reprimanding the President of the United States as if he were a child?

As a reminder, here is the disgraceful ad in question, which itself has been debunked as a lie…

Horror in NY! City Shuts Down Free Vibrator Giveaway (Video)

August 9, 2012 at 11:23 am (Free Vibrator Giveaway, Mayor Bloomberg, New York, New York City, Pleasure Carts, Sandra Fluke, Trojan, Trojan Man)

The Trojan brand condom company was shaking things up in New York yesterday.  They set up “pleasure carts” in two Manhattan neighborhoods, cocked, loaded, and ready to hand out over 10,000 free vibrating sex toys.  Hundreds of people lined up for their chance to receive a vibrator, but the gathering quickly grew flaccid as city officials stepped in to issue a stiff warning for promoters to shut down due to the big crowds.

A vibrator giveaway that attracted long lines in New York City came to an abrupt end when the city told the promoters to pack it up.

The Trojan condom company set up “Pleasure Carts” on Wednesday in two Manhattan neighborhoods, and were set to give away 10,000 vibrating sex toys. Nearly 300 people had lined up at each of the hot-dog-style carts…

Though officials were clearly giving the crowd a hard time, they did state that the carts could be erected again once the company attains proper permits.

…  One of those on line, Melody Henry, grumbled that Mayor Michael Bloomberg “doesn’t want anyone to have fun. You can’t have a giant soda, You can’t have a vibrator.”

I’m not sure what you’re doing with carbonated beverages that you’re lumping them in the same category of fun as sex toys, but I can guarantee you’re probably using the straw the wrong way.  It’s the Big Gulp, not the Big … well, maybe I won’t go there.

The New York Post delivered yet another classic line with their reporting:

“They must have rubbed Mayor Bloomberg the wrong way.”

No word on whether or not Sandra Fluke was going to speak in the city about the hardships caused by a lack of free vibrators.  Though, perhaps the free sex toys would alleviate the need for such drastic amounts of government-funded contraception.

Pataki Endorses Wendy Long for United States Senate

August 9, 2012 at 7:00 am (George Pataki, Kirsten Gillibrand, Liberal, New York, Obamacare, United States Senate, Wendy Long)

Former New York Governor George E. Pataki today enthusiastically endorsed Wendy Long for the United States Senate.

The three-term Governor said, “We need to send Wendy Long to Washington to cast the deciding vote to repeal Obamacare, end our dangerousaddiction to borrowing and do what the Senate has failed to do for over three-years: finally pass a budget.”

Added Pataki, “In Kirsten Gillibrand and Wendy Long, New Yorkers have a clear choice between an ultra liberal agenda that favors higher taxes and government intervention versus a belief in limited government that values individual freedom and private sector initiative.”

Wendy Long said, “I am honored to have Governor Pataki’s endorsement – he proved that Republican-conservative policies work. Under his leadership, more than one million New Yorkers got off the welfare rolls, and crime was reduced so that New York was transformed from one of the most dangerous to one of the safest states in America, George Pataki reversed the liberal slide in New York, as Senator I will reverse it in Washington.”

Pataki concluded, “It’s the old saying, ‘be careful what you wish for,’ Senator Gillibrand keeps saying she wants more women in politics – now let’s see if she wants to debate them too.”
