Actual Headline: Will Romney Reach Out to Racists in Debates?

October 1, 2012 at 3:32 pm (Are You a Racist?, Debates, Mitt Romney, President Obama, Racism, Racist, The Root, Top Headline, Washington Post)

A publication known as The Root ran an analysis of the upcoming debate strategy for the Romney campaign, and asked the following question in it’s headline – Will Romney Reach out to Racists in Debates?

Upon first viewing the article in question, one might think that it’s just a leftist blogger on a small site asking an inane question.

However, The Root is a publication owned by the Washington Post and as such, the inflammatory headline actually ran on the home page of the Post on Saturday afternoon as a “Top Headline”.

Here is a bit of the argument presented by author Keli Goff:

In 2008 something remarkable happened: America elected a black man with a Muslim-sounding name president. The even more remarkable part? That he beat a white war hero from an American military dynasty.

But there are plenty of political watchers who believe this turn of events happened only because the war hero was not willing to engage in the political equivalent of nuclear warfare with his opponent.

As related in Game Change, the best-selling book about the 2008 presidential election, Republican nominee Sen. John McCain was pressured by his campaign advisers to exploit the controversy surrounding comments by then-Sen. Barack Obama’s longtime pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright. As told in the book, McCain — still haunted by some of the negative campaigning invoking his foreign-born, adopted daughter during the bruising 2000 GOP primary, in which he was eventually beaten by George W. Bush — eschewed their advice. The rest, as they say, is history.

Goff then goes on to question if Romney will do what McCain was unwilling to – start questioning Obama’s relationship with the Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

Of course, this premise is flawed in a manner that a middle school student could see right off the bat.  The argument only works if somebody believes that the only type of person that could call into question Obama’s relationship with the controversial (and racist) reverend, is a flat-out racist.

This is an unacceptable premise for a journalist.  Jeremiah Wright, and by extension a man that sat in his church for twenty years listening to his racist, America-bashing, intolerant sermons, is fair game for exploration.  Or at least should be by the media.

But this author simply puts any investigation into the controversial relationship into a category of racist.

That’s tunnel vision … in black and white.

Goff asks:

Now the Romney campaign finds itself at a crossroads. With just over a month to go before the election, the question becomes: Will he be willing to do what McCain wasn’t, in order to win at any cost? Will he give in to the temptation and begin lacing his ads and language with messages to appeal to those who miss the days of the Southern strategy — and the days of a white Republican president?

Sorry, but I’m willing to bet the southern strategy isn’t to put a white President back in office, but rather one who has the experience to get the job done, to improve the American economy and recover our standing as a revered country around the world.

There’s only one candidate in this race with that kind of experience, and it isn’t Mr. Obama.

It’s experience, not race Ms. Goff.  And the fact that you can’t see past the President’s skin color to accept that fact makes you … a racist.

Save On Your Energy Bill and Make a Separate Donation to the Republican Party

October 1, 2012 at 11:44 am (Cost Cutting, Energy Supplier, Just Energy, Money, Savings, Trel)

We thought this was the perfect business opportunity for our readers, a majority of whom are clearly Republicans or conservatives.

I’m not very good at sales pitches, but I did want to alert my friends to a company that is willing cut commercial energy bills, by offering a free, no-hassle energy audit.  And if the business owner switches energy suppliers, they will not only see substantial savings in their energy costs, but the company will also make a sizable donation to the Republican party in that person’s name for doing so.
Below is further information on the company.  If you own a business, or if you know anybody who does and could use some cost-cutting on their energy bills, then please contact Trel at Trel@DevNewBiz.com and tell him you heard about the company from the Mental Recession.
If you know of anyone else who would benefit from such a program, please pass this along to them as well.
Here is the information…
Just Energy is a multi-billion dollar, multi-national company, which is listed on the NY Stock Exchange under JE.  They’ve been around since 1997.

The states are as follows : CA – FL – GA – IL – IN – MD – MA – MI – OH – PA – NJ – NY – TX (You may know a client, or two in Canada – we do the whole country)
A link to the company website – www.JustEnergy.com

To recap – – Just Energy separates themselves from a Broker, in that they own the majority of the energy they sell and even fund some of the projects that actually create the energy.  Furthermore, if they do in fact buy the energy versus creating it, their buying power allows them to purchase the energy years in advance, which allows them to treat it as a commodity.  Therefore, their pricing is significantly cheaper than a broker over the long run, since they can lock a price in for up to 5 years, whereas a broker makes a “vig” (up charge) over what an energy supplier, such as Just Energy, charges.  Basically, via Just Energy, the client buys it direct from the source.

Important factoid – If the business/property owner states they are already in a contract – fine – we can sign them up on the spot and it goes active the day their existing contract ends.  We can sign someone up to one year prior to their contract expiration date.  Why would they want to do that?  Lock in a low rate now – power is only going up in price.

Important factoid – The client’s utility company never changes – the guys who own/run the infrastructure still supply the energy – Con Edison is Con Edison – National Grid is National Grid, regardless of who supplies the energy – Companies such as Con Edison and National Grid delivers the energy, regardless of who supplies it.

The business doesn’t have to change a thing.  Many businesses have been “Flipped” and don’t even know it… Your bill doesn’t even look different in most cases, just the supplier name changes and obviously, hopefully the rate.  No equipment/hardware changes are needed.  No hoops to jump through.

In order to price a contract, I need a current bill.  I do electric and gas in most areas.  If the owner has two separate bills, I’ll need both.  They can lock in for as little as a year, but energy prices are only going up, so most business choose to lock in for as long as possible.  Our prices are great – where we shine?  Locking your price in – flat rate for an extended period of time.  Locking down a flat rate could save a large company well in to the 6 figures over 5 years, depending on where they’re currently getting the energy from.  Lastly – They have a green energy service, which allows companies/organizations to purchase only green energy and offset environmental obligations.  This last service can be huge for public organizations and municipalities, or some larger corporations looking for positive PR.  Offsetting carbon credits and/or buying green energy is a big thing now, as I’m sure you’re aware of.

Companies and organizations that can use us – Basically any company that uses Natural Gas and/or Electric is a client : Landlords, apartment buildings, co-ops, warehouses, office buildings, malls, churches, schools, libraries, hotels, municipalities, banks, hospitals, gyms (The larger the better), to a lesser extent, but still much desired – restaurants, bars, laundry mats, dry cleaners, store fronts, etc…  In addition – Fast Food Chains… You’d be surprised how much energy a Burger King expends – furthermore, there’s a good chance that a person who owns one Burger King, may own 10.

If the client supplies me with a bill, I’ll supply them with a rate – quote.  If it works for a client, great.  If not, I won’t high pressure anyone.  It either works, or it doesn’t… kind of thing.

Obama Administration Blaming Deaths of U.S. Troops On … U.S. Troops

October 1, 2012 at 9:00 am (Afghanistan, Friendly Fire, George W. Bush, Islam, Martin Dempsey, Military, Pentagon, President Obama, Sensitivity Training, U.S. Troops)

In case you were wondering, according to the Pentagon, American troops would be killed far less frequently if only they would better understand the religious sensitivities of Afghan forces.

If you’re an ardent supporter of American media, then you probably missed the news that the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Afghanistan rose to 2,000 this past weekend.

This of course, would have been the lead story on every news outlet in America had it occurred between the years 2000 and 2008.

But this is now Obama’s war, and there should be no reporting of significant milestones because … well … because he has put an end to these unjust wars.  And also, he’s the first black President.  Or something.

Regardless, here is the grim news as reported by the Huffington Post:

A firefight broke out between U.S. forces and their Afghan army allies in eastern Afghanistan Sunday, killing two Americans and three Afghan soldiers and pushing the number of U.S. troops killed in the long-running war 2,000.
The fighting started Saturday when what is believed to have been a mortar fired by insurgents struck a checkpoint set up by U.S. forces in Wardak province, said Shahidullah Shahid, a provincial government spokesman. He said the Americans thought they were under attack from a nearby Afghan army checkpoint and fired on it, prompting the Afghan soldiers to return fire.
The Afghan Defense Ministry said the gunbattle was the result of a “misunderstanding” between international forces and Afghan soldiers manning a checkpoint in the Sayd Abad district.

There is a debate as to whether or not this story holds true.  Were our soldiers killed as a result of a misunderstanding, or was it an attack from within?  Regardless of the motive, the 2,000th American soldier has died in Afghanistan.

Now, we know our readers are pretty good with math unlike liberals in the media, so we have a little mathematical riddle for you – If 630 U.S. troops were killed in 8 years during the war in Afghanistan under Bush, and 2,000 total troops have died during the entire length of that war, how many casualties have occurred under President Obama?

Here’s an even more astounding thing to ponder – the Obama administration is now blaming the ‘friendly fire’ attacks that have killed U.S. soldiers this year on troops that are not sensitive enough to the religion of Islam.

In other words, they had it coming.

The New York Post reports (h/t Gateway Pundit):

Afghan security forces, our supposed allies, are slaughtering American troops. Thirty-three soldiers have been killed by “green on blue” attacks this year alone. The situation is so bad that the training of Afghan forces has been temporarily suspended.

How has the Pentagon responded?

By blaming our troops.

Top officials believe culturally offensive behavior is the motivation behind the killings, so it’s stepped up Islamic sensitivity training for our troops.

If you don’t want to be shot in the back by your Afghan training partners, the Pentagon advises, don’t offend their religious sensibilities. Don’t kick your feet up on a table, for instance, and never ask to see a picture of their wives and kids. “There’s a percentage [of attacks] which are cultural affronts,” Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey said in a recent interview. Dempsey echoes the concerns of Gen. Sher Mohammad Karimi, the Afghan National Army’s chief of staff, who earlier this month argued both sides need to do more to “teach” foreign troops Islamic traditions and values to reduce the chance of violent reactions to cultural slights. “It is our duty to teach this to them. Our indifference about these issues causes the incident,” he said.

Of course, this fits in quite well with the President’s view that when it comes to soldiers and diplomats being killed abroad, everyone is to blame for their deaths except for the people who actually pull the trigger.

When do you suppose the Obama administration will start training Afghan troops to respect American traditions and values, and start blaming violence in the Middle East on those who have no values?

More Blood on Their Hands: Univision Finds More Fast and Furious Victims

October 1, 2012 at 7:00 am (ATF, Brian Terry, Bureau of Alcohol, Colombia, Drug Cartels, Eric Holder, Explosives, Fast and Furious, Firearms, Honduras, Jaime Zapata, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Tobacco, Univision, Victor Avila, Villas de Salvarcar)

Univision is keeping the heat on President Obama, performing investigative work that the American media has simply refused to do regarding Fast and Furious.

In a recent interview with the President, a Univision reporter asked why he shouldn’t fire Attorney General Eric Holder.  It turns out, the reporter may have been asking based on even further evidence of the operation’s criminal nature.

Yesterday, the Spanish-language television network aired a special that revealed the botched gun-smuggling operation known as Fast and Furious was far more deadly than previously understood.

The documentary revealed that in 2010, a party of nearly 60 teenagers were gunned down by assassins who had been armed by the United States Government.  The result – 16 people dead, mostly teenagers.

Indirectly, the United States government played a role in the massacre by supplying some of the firearms used by the cartel murderers. Three of the high caliber weapons fired that night in Villas de Salvarcar were linked to a gun tracing operation run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), according to a Mexican army document obtained exclusively by Univision News.

And it gets worse…

Univision News identified a total of 57 more previously unreported firearms that were bought by straw purchasers monitored by ATF during Operation Fast and Furious, and then recovered in Mexico in sites related to murders, kidnappings, and at least one other massacre.

In fact, the report indicates that other U.S. agents had fallen victim to guns supplied by the U.S. government.

Victor Avila and Jaime Zapata, two U.S. Federal Agents assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, were in the process of transporting surveillance equipment when their vehicle was surrounded by cartel members and shot more than 90 times. Zapata died and Avila was seriously wounded.

An official familiar with the Congressional investigation into Fast and Furious referred to Univision’s report as “the holy grail”.  The report also showed that guns were trafficked to other countries as well.

“Univision News’ Investigative Unit was also able to identify additional guns that escaped the control of ATF agents and were used in different types of crimes throughout Mexico,” the network added. “Furthermore, some of these guns — none of which were reported by congressional investigators — were put in the hands of drug traffickers in Honduras, Puerto Rico, and Colombia. A person familiar with the recent congressional hearings called Univision’s findings ‘the holy grail’ that Congress had been searching for.”

So the question remains – Why hasn’t Eric Holder been fired yet?
