Video: Hillary Clinton Falls on the Sword for Obama Administration

October 15, 2012 at 10:14 pm (2012 Election, Benghazi, Buck Stops, Debate, Hillary Clinton, Libya, Mitt Romney, President Obama, State Department)

Remember when President Obama was criticizing Mitt Romney about his responsibilities at Bain Capital, even invoking Harry Truman’s ‘the buck stops here’ campaign?

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: Well, here’s what I know, we were just talking about responsibility and as president of the United States, it’s pretty clear to me that I’m responsible for folks who are working in the federal government and you know, Harry Truman said the buck stops with you.

Now, my understanding is that Mr. Romney attested to the SEC, multiple times, that he was the chairman, CEO and president of Bain Capital and I think most Americans figure if you are the chairman, CEO and president of a company that you are responsible for what that company does.

Ultimately Mr. Romney, I think, is going to have to answer those questions, because if he aspires to being president one of the things you learn is, you are ultimately responsible for the conduct of your operations, but again that’s probably a question that he’s going to have to answer and I think that’s a legitimate part of the campaign.

The buck stops with the President?  He is ultimately responsible for the conduct of his operations?

Apparently that mantra doesn’t hold true when it comes to your administration’s conduct in dealing with the terrorist attacks in Benghazi.

Today we found out the buck doesn’t actually stop with the President, but rather it stops with Hillary Clinton.

Falling on the sword for the administration during a tough re-election bid, Clinton today told a CNN reporter “I take responsibility” for security ahead of the attacks.

Notice consistent use of the phrase ‘the buck stops with her’.
This is clearly an attempt to deflect criticism being aimed at the White House ahead of the second Presidential debate scheduled for tomorrow night.
The Right Scoop states:

“This was a purely political move to give Obama breathing room tomorrow night. That’s it.”

If the State Department had solely been responsible for the lack of security leading up to the attacks, the White House would not have consistently covered up this attack with the fabricated ‘spontaneous protest’ story.

With the economy being blamed on Bush consistently over the last four years, and now these terror attacks being blamed on Hillary, one has to wonder can anything that happens under this regime be considered Obama’s fault?

Fact Checkers: Gillibrand Kills Jobs

October 15, 2012 at 3:37 pm (Democrat and Chronicle, Job Killer, Kirsten Gillibrand, National Horizon, New York, Senate, Welch Allyn, Wendy Long)

The Democrat and Chronicle has reviewed several political ads in New York for accuracy, one of which was the recent National Horizon super PAC ad that Kirsten Gillibrand’s lawyers tried to have censored.

The ad hammers Kirsten Gillibrand for her support of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act which contains numerous hidden taxes, including a medical device tax which has eliminated hundreds of jobs already in New York.

Rather than countering the facts contained in the ad, Team Gillibrand has decided to focus on the text of statements in the ad, which to them resemble newspaper headlines.

As a result, attorneys representing Ms. Gillibrand sent letters to TV station executives demanding that the ads be pulled for being ‘misleading and deceptive’.

Turns out there was a reason her lawyers wanted that ad pulled – it was true.

According to the D&C:

In “Job Killer,” outside group National Horizon attacks U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, claiming she cost New York jobs. We looked at the basic facts behind this ad, and they are true.

Today the New York GOP released the following statement:

The respected Rochester Democrat and Chronicle just confirmed what most New Yorkers already know: Kirsten Gillibrand is bad for jobs. Kirsten’s campaign rhetoric touts her support for the manufacturing industry in Upstate New York, but according to the Rochester newspaper: “Gillibrand voted for the 2010 Affordable Care Act to overhaul the nation’s health care system. That legislation included as a revenue source a 2.3 percent federal excise tax to be paid by manufacturers and importers of certain medical devices.”

The paper described how Kirsten’s rubber-stamping of the Pelosi-Reid agenda has already cost some New Yorkers their jobs:  “Upstate medical device manufacturer Welch Allyn, based on Skaneateles Falls, described the medical device tax as ‘onerous’ in a September news release in which the company announced a corporate restructuring that will result on the layoff of 10 percent of its workforce over three years.”

New Yorkers are hungry for real, independent leadership in Washington, not the partisan gridlock that comes from blind loyalty to party leaders.  And on Election Day, New Yorkers have that leadership again when we send Wendy Long to the US Senate.

Gillibrand and the Affordable Care Act are indeed costing jobs in New York, there is no doubt.  But isn’t trying to take the focus off of the facts, and placing it on frivolous censorship attempts, in itself a ‘misleading and deceptive’ act?

Thankfully, the D&C has seen through the smokescreen, letting New Yorkers know that Wendy Long is the one honest candidate in this campaign, and Kirsten Gillibrand is simply diverting their attention from the facts.

Here is the ad for those who may have missed it:

Michelle Obama: We’re in the Midst of a Huge Recovery

October 15, 2012 at 2:50 pm (2012 Election, Economy, First Lady, huge Recovery, Jobs, Michelle Obama, Recovery, Unemployment)

If recovery means placing more people on food stamps than at any other time in our history, or seeing record numbers of people dropping completely out of the work force, then yes, we are in the midst of a huge recovery.

Via CNS News:

First Lady Michelle Obama said in a radio interview on Friday that the United States is in the “midst of a huge recovery” because of what “this president has done.”

Pablo Sato, co-host of Pablo & Free on WPGC 95.5, a Washington, D.C.-area hip-hop radio station, asked the first lady:  “Mrs. Obama, you know what, in your words, tell us what you think the state of the union is in right now?”

Mrs. Obama said, “I mean, we are seeing right now that we are in the midst of a huge recovery. Right?  Because of what this president has done.”

Median family income – significantly lower.

Gas prices – significantly higher.

National debt- $6 trillion greater.

Real unemployment – nearly doubled.

Food stamp spending – also nearly doubled.

Welcome to the huge recovery, America.

While Senate Investigates Benghazi Attacks, President Obama Talks About the Nikki Minaj/Mariah Carey Feud

October 15, 2012 at 11:00 am (Benghazi, Joe Lieberman, Libya, Mariah Carey, Michael Yo, Nikki Minaj, President Obama, Susan Collins, US Ambassador Chris Stevens)

Well, at least he has his priorities straight.

Late last week, and just over three weeks away from Election Day, the bipartisan US Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee announced it would launch an official investigation into the terrorist murders of 4 Americans, including a US Ambassador, in Benghazi.

Via Roll Call:

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee announced late Friday that it will investigate the events surrounding the death of four Americans in Libya, including the U.S. ambassador.

Chairman Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and ranking member Susan Collins (R-Maine) made the announcement in a joint statement.

“We intend to examine the circumstances before, during, and after the attack, including threat awareness, U.S. security needs for diplomatic personnel in Benghazi and Libya, and communications among the intelligence community, the State Department, the Defense Department, and the White House,” Lieberman and Collins said.

An early story line suggested the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11 of this year that took the lives of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, was caused by a riot over an anti-Muslim video, but that has fallen apart. And various administration officials have given different accounts about what happened.

Since the Sept. 11, however, it has become clear that there were requests to bolster security in the country that went unmet before the consulate was attacked. Most officials now acknowledge it was a planned terrorist attack on the consulate.

Considering his administration is being accused of a cover up, you’d think this would be a significant priority on the President’s agenda.

But here’s where Obama’s priorities lie instead…

Earlier today, President Obama called into Y100s Michael YO! Show, where he weighed in on a very serious topic plaguing the pop world – the American Idol fight between judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. What better person to give their opinion on the American Idol spat, other than the top American himself.

The president told Y100 that he believes that the two can work out their differences. When asked how Obama thinks he would do on the reality show, he confessed that he thinks hell stick to his day job.

So the President didn’t have time to attend his security briefings prior to the attack on 9/11, but now that four Americans are dead he has decided to free up some time … to call into a local radio show?

Here is the interview…

We know you’re no longer interested in working as the President of the United States, but could you at least feign concern for the people your policies helped kill?

Bolton: "We Need a Real President in the White House"

October 15, 2012 at 9:00 am (Bin Laden, Iran, John Bolton, Middle East, Nuclear Weapon, President Obama, Real President, United Nations, White House)

Do we ever.

Via the Shark Tank:

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton addressed a group of predominantly Jewish Republicans that totaled about 300 in Boca Raton.  Bolton was there to shed some light on the ongoing issues in the Middle East that President Obama continues to discount or ignore, including the imminent danger posed by Iran to the rest of world were they are able to obtain a nuclear weapon.

Bolton also stated that President Obama did not have any credibility with Iran.

“We need a real President in the White House, with real credibility.”

See, from listening to the Obama campaign, I was under the impression that all other countries feared our strength because, you know … Bin Laden!

Democrats: Americans Don’t Care About Benghazi, But They Care About Bin Laden

October 15, 2012 at 7:10 am (2012 Election, Benghazi, Christopher Stevens, Democrats, Donna Edwards, Foreign Policy, Libya, Mitt Romney, Obama Administration, Osama Bin laden, Situation Room, Stephanie Cutter)

Democrats for some reason seem to think that the singular act of killing Osama bin Laden equates to a successful foreign policy.

Problem is, the President’s other foreign policy tactics – disarming our Marines, creating a policy of ‘courageous restraint’, negotiating with the Taliban by releasing their commanders in exchange for a “promise” of peace talks, and failing to provide adequate security to our consulate buildings – demonstrate a complete lack of understanding of world events.

There is real concern over the President’s weak foreign policy.

On CNN’s The Situation Room yesterday Democratic Rep. Donna Edwards joined Stephanie Cutter and Team Obama in dismissing real concerns over Libya.

Watch as she first admonishes that we must “take the politics out of this,” then drops this bomb:

“…what voters care about, they may not care about Benghazi, but they care about Bin Laden.”

Utterly disgraceful.
The polls seem to indicate otherwise, as Obama has been sliding consistently since the real story about Benghazi has come to light.  Prior to the attack and cover up, Obama polled strongly in foreign policy, having a 49 to 41% edge over Mitt Romney regarding the question of ‘who do you trust to do a better job of protecting Americans from terrorist attacks’.  Now those results have reversed course, with Romney leading 48 to 42%.
We care, Ms. Edwards.  We care about being attacked on the anniversary of 9/11.  We care about the administration covering it up.  We care about being lied to.
Ask Christopher Stevens family if they care about Benghazi.
