(Watch) Biden Asks ‘How Many Know Someone Who Served In Iraq and Iran’ – Harry Reid Raises Hand

October 18, 2012 at 4:25 pm (Harry Reid, Iran, Iraq, Joe Biden, Las Vegas, Mensa, Nevada, Troops)

Joltin’ Joe commits a gaffe, and Dirty Harry plays right along.

At a campaign stop in Las Vegas, Joe Biden asked people in the crowd how many of them know someone who has served in … Iran?

While most of us would have sat there in stunned silence, Harry Reid can be seen in the background raising his hand like a schoolboy dying to give the teacher an answer.

And guess what happens next … Joe asks another question – How many know someone who has been injured or lost in Iraq or Iran?  And Reid raises his hand again!

I wasn’t aware that we had any troops on the ground in Iran.  Thanks for the history lesson, Joe!

Watch these two Mensa candidates in action…

Bill Clinton Sides With Romney – Obama Hasn’t Fixed the Economy

October 18, 2012 at 1:38 pm (Bill Clinton, Economy, Fixed, Mitt Romney, President Obama)

Payback for throwing Hillary under the bus?

At a campaign event in Ohio, Bill Clinton concurs with a main argument of Mitt Romney’s, stating that it is true that the economy is not fixed under Obama.

“Governor Romney’s argument is ‘we’re not fixed, so fire him and put me in.’ It is true, we’re not fixed. When President Obama looked into the eyes of that man who said in the debate, ‘I had so much hope four years ago and I don’t now,’ I thought he was going to cry because he knows that it’s not fixed.”

Another Small Business Owner Tells Obama to "Kiss My …"

October 18, 2012 at 9:21 am (Auto Repair, New York, President Obama, Redistribution of Wealth, Speigletown, Tesman's, Todd Tesman, You Didn't Build That)

Saw this sign in my travels up Route 40 (h/t Michael and Janice), in a tiny little place called Speigletown, NY.

Not quite sure President Obama would ever be in that area, but if he were he would be driving past an auto repair shop called Tesman’s, where he could then read the following message:

Owner Todd Tesman apparently decided it was time to send the President a message that he did indeed build his own business.
The sign is a slightly cleaned up version of one used by an owner of a Georgia lumberyard back in August, and reads:
“We built this business without gov’t help
Pres. Obama can kiss my …
Todd Tesman approved this message”

I can assure you, Todd built it with some of my help back in the early ’90s.  The business I gave him with my crappy Taurus station wagon had to be staggering.
Still, like most successful businessmen, Todd always lent a helping hand.  You didn’t have to force him to redistribute wealth, he would routinely do small and quick repairs at no cost to the customer.  Charity was a choice, not legislated by government.
From reading other testimonials, it seems Todd is still carrying on that tradition.
It just goes to show you that successful small business owners haven’t forgotten about the President’s “you didn’t build that” moment.

Wendy Long Exposes Gillibrand as Flip-Flopping Job Killing Partisan

October 18, 2012 at 8:00 am (Ed Cox, Kirsten Gillibrand, New York, Skidmore College, War on Women, Wendy Long)

Yesterday, New York GOP Chairman Ed Cox released the following statement:

“At Skidmore College this evening, Wendy Long and Kirsten Gillibrand engaged in their only debate – while Long had agreed to six separate debates, New York’s Junior Senator only agreed to one.
On taxes, Long cited Ronald Reagan’s caveat that ‘the federal government doesn’t have debt and deficits because the American people are undertaxed,’ and pledged to lower the federal tax burden for New Yorkers, already the most taxed citizens in the nation.

Gillibrand paid lipservice to the fiscal conservatism, but when pressed by Long, was unable to cite a single federal program that she would cut.

Gillibrand tried in vain to cast herself as a supporter of the Second Amendment, but was unable to explain her 180 degree flip-flop on gun control, which led the NRA to downgrade her from an “A” rating to an “F”.

Gillibrand, who has been selling baseless “War on Women” rhetoric for years, refused to accept Long’s invitation to join her in calling for the resignation of Speaker Sheldon Silver, who was caught using taxpayer money as hush payouts for female victims of rape and sexual harassment in the New York State Assembly.

Wendy Long is the only person in this race who will put the people of New York over partisan interests.”
