Report: No One in CIA Ordered Operatives to Stand Down, Was a Presidential Decision

October 26, 2012 at 9:41 pm (Benghazi, CIA, General Petraus, Libya, President Obama, Presidential Decision, Scandal, Stand Down, Vegas)

The American people must force the media to cover this story.  This is a Presidential scandal of epic proportions.

Earlier today we reported on the news that the SEALs in Benghazi begged for help.  Begged for help and were told to “stand down” multiple times.

The PJ Tatler reports that help was not that far away.  The group could have been aided by the presence of an AC-130 that was actually stationed in Benghazi.

If you don’t get torches-and-pitchforks irate about this, you are not an American:

The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Specter gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.

There were two AC-130Us deployed to Libya in March as part of Operation Unified Protector.

The AC-130U is a very effective third-generation fire-support aircraft, capable of continuous and extremely accurate fire onto multiple targets. It has been used numerous times in Iraq and Afghanistan to save pinned-down allied forces, and has even been credited with the surrender of the Taliban city of Kunduz.

Torches and pitchfork irate is an understatement.

Doug Ross writes:

Benghazi-gate is spinning out of control and the Obama administration is dying right before our eyes, thanks especially to leaks that are coming fast and furious (no pun intended; oh, and here’s a helpful hint for future Democrat Presidents in the mold of Carter and Obama: throw the intel community under the bus at your own peril).

In recounting this sordid abdication of leadership (or worse), Glenn Beck stated this afternoon that, “Today, officially, is the day that I no longer recognize my country.”

And Karin McQuillan asks, “Did Obama watch while they fought for their lives?”

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse for President Obama, there’s this.

Via the Weekly Standard:

Breaking news on Benghazi: the CIA spokesman, presumably at the direction of CIA director David Petraeus, has put out this statement: “No one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate. ”

So who in the government did tell “anybody” not to help those in need? Someone decided not to send in military assets to help those Agency operators. Would the secretary of defense make such a decision on his own? No.

It would have been a presidential decision. There was presumably a rationale for such a decision. What was it? When and why—and based on whose counsel obtained in what meetings or conversations—did President Obama decide against sending in military assets to help the Americans in need?

The emphasis was added here, but let’s re-read that portion again.

Who in the Government did tell “anybody” not to help those in need?

It would have been a presidential decision.

Now, watch the President do what he’s done so successfully over the last month and a half – avoid answering questions about Benghazi.

He watched them die.  He watched them die and then flew to Vegas for a fundraiser.

Where is the American media?  Running scared.

We watched Navy SEALs ignore orders to stand down, running directly into the fight.

Then the President abandoned them.  And now the media is abandoning them again.

America, we can not abandon these brave men a third time.

Smartest President Ever Struggles With Ultra-Complicated ‘Ordinary Voting Machine’

October 26, 2012 at 4:23 pm (2012 Election, Chicago, Early Voting, President Obama, Smartest President Ever, Voting Machine)

The real story here is that the voting machines are apparently racist.

Via the Obama Report:

President Obama visited the polling station at the Martin Luther King Community Center in his hometown of Chicago on Thursday to cast an early vote for the 2012 Presidential election.

But the purportedly tech savvy President appeared to be befuddled by an ordinary, run-of-the-mill voting machine. Ultimately, an employee at the polling station came to the rescue, as he guided the President through the step-by-step process of using the typical, every-day, run-of-the-mill voting machine.

Video: Father of Slain SEAL – Administration "Murderers of My Son"

October 26, 2012 at 3:32 pm (Benghazi, Charles Woods, Chris Stevens, Megyn Kelly, Obama Administration, President Obama, Stand Down, Tyrone Woods)

Earlier today, we reported on news that Americans killed in Benghazi on 9/11 had radioed for help multiple times, and were denied those requests each time.

Charles Woods, the father of Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, one of the Americans slain in the premeditated attack, spoke to Megyn Kelly earlier today, assailing the Obama administration for feeding he and his family a pack of lies, and for being “murderers of (his) son”.

Video can be seen below.  Transcript follows.

TRANSCRIPT

CHARLIE WOODS: thank you, i appreciate the introduction, and i do want to reiterate and really emphasize again that this is not about politics. if it were about politics, it would dishonor my son. this is about honesty and integrity and justice.

KELLY: you learn more about his final moments, how he was denied three times, and how he ignored the orders to stand down and he rushed to the scene to try to do his best and he did it down to the last.

WOODS: my son was an american hero. and he had the moral strength to do what was right. even if that would professionally cost him his job. even if it would cost him his life. he was a hero who was willing to do whatever was necessary. to respond to the cries for help. if, in fact, those people from the white house were courageous and have the strength, within minutes of the first attack, — he was not denied permission. i don’t know much about weapons, but it’s coming out right now. they actually had laser targets focused on the mortars and they refused to pull the trigger. to me, i’m an attorney. but to me, that is not right. those people made the decision and who knew about this and lied about it — they are murderers of my son. that is a very strong statement. but for their benefit, we need to stand up and they need to change the direction of their lives. i say, you know who you are. i hope years from now, you change the direction of your life.

KELLY: charlie, do you feel like you are getting straight answers? from the administration on this?

WOODS: this is all a pack of lies. that is one thing is the father whose son who has been killed, i do not appreciate lies.i’m a loving person. i love my son and i want to honor him. facts are coming out right now. the reason i am even speaking up, whatever the facts came out that in real-time, the white house, minutes after the first bullet was fired, they watch my son and they denied his request for help. my son violated his orders in order to protect the lives of at least 30 people. he risked his life and i wish that leadership in the white house had the same moral porridge that my son displayed with his wife.

KELLY: as we look at the beautiful pictures that you gave us of your son when he was younger, we remember his legacy. he is an american hero, charlie. i will give you the last word.

WOODS: you know, i appreciate that. and i sent you those pictures of him in high school. and i wanted you to show those for one reason. and that is so that people can be inspired and know that he was just a normal kid. we were an imperfect memory, but a normal family. i hope that his legacy goes on. and that we would raise a generation of american heroes. and that they would be inspired by his pictures and his life. those are strong morally and strong in every other aspect. we do not need another generation of liars who lack the moral strength.

KELLY: charlie, all the best you and your family.

WOODS: i really appreciate that. i really wish the best to those people that love my son to be murdered. i mean i very sincerely. i want the best for them. they need to stand up, and they need to change the direction. thank you.

KELLY: thank you. all the best, sir. i know i speak for a lot of you when i say that your son is missed, and we honor his memory today.

‘Stand Down’: More Proof That Americans Killed in Benghazi Were Left to Die by Their Government

October 26, 2012 at 12:07 pm (Ambassador Stevens, Annex, Benghazi, CIA, Delta Force, Fox News, Glen Doherty, Jennifer Griffin, Libya, Navy SEALs, Tyrone Woods, White House)

The story of four Americans killed in Benghazi grows more horrifying each and every day.  This should be considered perhaps the biggest scandal in Presidential history.

Does it feel like it’s brig reported as such?

Via Fox News:

Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. Consulate and subsequent attack several hours later was denied by officials in the CIA chain of command — who also told the CIA operators twice to “stand down” rather than help the ambassador’s team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.

Former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were part of a small team who were at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. Consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When they heard the shots fired, they radioed to inform their higher-ups to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to “stand down,” according to sources familiar with the exchange. An hour later, they called again to headquarters and were again told to “stand down.”

Woods, Doherty and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the Consulate which at that point was on fire. Shots were exchanged. The quick reaction force from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the Consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.

At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied. There were no communications problems at the annex, according those present at the compound. The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. In fact, at least one member of the team was on the roof of the annex manning a heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA compound.

Three separate requests for help.

Three separate denials.

They were told to stand down.  They were left to die.
