Hurricane Victim Obama Promised "Immediate Help" to in Iconic Photo, Starting to Wonder What Immediate Means
Earlier today, we discussed ‘civic illiteracy‘. Specifically, the concept that 42 percent of voters in the 2012 election somehow found the President’s response to Hurricane Sandy to be important to them, while seemingly brushing off the entirety of other aspects of his four years in office.
If one were to visit the White House website currently, they might stumble on this iconic photo adorning the site, posted two days after Hurricane Sandy ripped through the north eastern United States.
“One of our challenges now is to get back to normalcy,” said Gov. Christie. “And so the things we need to do is to make sure that we get power restored as quickly as possible; make sure that people have clean drinking water, and waste water treatment plants are working; hospitals are taken care of the way they need to; and that we get kids back to school. And so, I discussed all those issues today with the President, and I’m pleased to report that he has sprung into action immediately to help get us those things.
To quote Inigo Montoya, “You keep using that word … I do not think it means what you think it means”.
She said she was honored to meet Obama, but she is also frustrated that she has yet to receive help from either her insurance companies or the government. “The president told me I would get immediate help,” she said.
“Looking back on it, it wasted a lot of people’s time,” she said of the visit.
The future of the North Point Marina remains uncertain. “I am just moving minute by minute, because the insurance companies are telling me no, no, no!” she said.
Perhaps Christie and Obama could look over a dictionary quickly, define the terms ‘outstanding’ and ‘immediate’, and get back to Ms. Vanzant at some point. After all, it’s not like they’re too busy doing other things.
Unfortunately Vanzant is correct – the President has wasted a lot of people’s time. And unfortunately, he’ll be wasting another four years – partially because of his response to Hurricane Sandy, and a photo-op hug with this same woman.
“I never thought I’d say this on American soil … but the Ruskie’s right.”
Putin in 2009 outlined his strategy for economic success. Alas, poor Obama did the opposite but nevertheless was re-elected. Bye, bye Miss American Pie. The Communists have won in America with Obama but failed miserably in Russia with Zyuganov who only received 17% of the vote. Vladimir Putin was re-elected as President keeping the NWO order out of Russia while America continues to repeat the Soviet mistake.
After Obama was elected in his first term as president the then Prime Minister of Russia, Vladimir Putin gave a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in January of 2009. Ignored by the West as usual, Putin gave insightful and helpful advice to help the world economy and saying the world should avoid the Soviet mistake.
Recently, Obama has been re-elected for a 2nd term by an illiterate society and he is ready to continue his lies of less taxes while he raises them. He gives speeches of peace and love in the world while he promotes wars as he did in Egypt, Libya and Syria. He plans his next war is with Iran as he fires or demotes his generals who get in the way.
Human Events labeled that which carried Obama to victory, “civic illiteracy”:
Questions came from past institute surveys, as well as from nationally recognized exams, such as the U.S. government’s citizenship test and the National Assessment of Education Progress test. Respondents also were asked questions regarding their level of engagement in other activities that may or may not contribute to civic literacy.
The average score for all Americans who took this straightforward civic literacy test was 49 percent, or an “F,” proving the apple doesn’t fall far from the civically illiterate tree.
Which brings us to last week’s presidential election. Exit polls revealed that a stunning 42 percent of voters said Mr. Obama’s response to Superstorm Sandy was “important” when making their decisions about whom to vote for in the election.
That’s about what you’d expect from a civically illiterate electorate.
Maybe the Ruskie’s right in that regard as well…
Tuesday’s victory for the President marks the first time since its inception that Obamacare is no longer a what-if; it is the future of health care in America.
It also means a near immediate impact on the economy. With 20 or so new or higher taxes set to be implemented, ranging from a $123 billion surtax on investment income, through the $20 billion medical device tax, all the way down to the $600 million executive compensation limit, Obamacare will be a nearly unbearable tax burden on the economy.
Who will pay? The middle-class workforce, of course.
So with another four years for President Obama to look forward to, and the obvious inevitability of Obamacare that this entails, let’s examine the very real jobs that will be lost, and the very real lives that will be affected.
Welch Allyn, a company that manufactures medical diagnostic equipment in central New York, announced in September that they would be laying off 275 employees, or roughly 10% of their workforce over the next three years. One of the major reasons discussed for the layoffs was a proactive response to the Medical Device Tax mandated by the new healthcare law.
Dana Holding Corp.
As recently as a week ago, a global auto parts manufacturing company in Ohio known as Dana Holding Corp., warned their employees of potential layoffs, citing “$24 million over the next six years in additional U.S. health care expenses”. After laying off several white collar staffers, company insiders have hinted at more to come. The company will have to cover the additional $24 million cost somehow, which will likely equate to numerous cuts in their current workforce of 25,500 worldwide.
One of the biggest medical device manufacturers in the world, Stryker will close their facility in Orchard Park, New York, eliminating 96 jobs in December. Worse, they plan on countering the medical device tax in Obamacare by slashing 5% of their global workforce – an estimated 1,170 positions.
In October of 2009, Boston Scientific CEO Ray Elliott, warned that proposed taxes in the health care reform bill could “lead to significant job losses” for his company. Nearly two years later, Elliott announced that the company would be cutting anywhere between 1,200 and 1,400 jobs, while simultaneously shifting investments and workers overseas – to China.
In March of 2010, medical device maker Medtronic warned that Obamacare taxes could result in a reduction of precisely 1,000 jobs. That plan became reality when the company cut 500 positions over the summer, with another 500 set for the end of 2013.
A short list of other companies facing future layoffs at the hands of Obamacare:
- Smith & Nephew – 770 layoffs
- Abbott Labs – 700 layoffs
- Covidien – 595 layoffs
- Kinetic Concepts – 427 layoffs
- St. Jude Medical – 300 layoffs
- Hill Rom – 200 layoffs
Beyond the complete elimination of a significant number of American jobs is another looming problem created by the health care law – a shift from full-time to part-time workers.
Sean Hackbarth of Free Enterprise explains:
A JP Morgan economist “points out that 8.3 million people are working in part-time jobs even though they’d prefer full-time work. Unfortunately, because of President Obama’s health care law, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), workers in the hotel, restaurant, and retail industries could be pushed into part-time jobs working less than 30 hours per week.”
“Under the health care law, if a company has more than 50 “full time equivalent” workers, a combination of full and part-time employees, but doesn’t offer “affordable” coverage that meets the government’s minimum value standard, the company will have to pay a penalty. This penalty is determined by the number of full-time employees minus 30 full-time employees. So to reiterate a very important point: part-time workers are not part of the penalty formula. The health care law creates a perverse incentive to hire part-time versus full-time workers.”
Tangible examples of Obamacare causing a reduction in full-time workers:
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Darden Restaurants, a casual dining chain best known for their Red Lobster, Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse restaurants, is “experimenting with limiting the hours of some of its workers to avoid health care requirements under the Affordable Care Act when they take effect in 2014”.
JANCOA Janitorial Services
The CEO of JANCOA, Mary Miller, testified to Congress that Obamacare was a “dream killer”, adding that one option she had to consider “is reducing the majority of my team members to part-time employment in order to reduce the amount that I will be penalized.”
The American retailer in Cincinnati, Ohio recently was reported to be planning a significant slashing of their hourly workers. Doug Ross writes:
Operative Faith (a mid-level manager with the company) reveals that Kroger will soon join the ranks of Darden Restaurants and slash the hours of its non-exempt (hourly) workers to avoid millions in Obamacare penalties.
According to the source, Obamacare could result in tens of thousands of Kroger employees being limited to working 28 hours per week.
This is by no means, meant to be an exhaustive list. But it is meant to provide examples of real companies, real jobs, and real names, soon to be added to the growing list of employment casualties provided by the inevitable implementation of Obamacare.
Last night, America voted for four more years of President Obama and his destructive economic and health care policies. By extension, America last night voted their approval of the aforementioned layoffs and overall work reduction.
Now we must accept the inevitable. Welcome to mourning in America.
I honestly find this to be an unbelievable statistic.
According to the Gateway Pundit, Republicans turned out in fewer numbers for this year’s election than in 2004 and in 2008.
The enthusiasm gap that we heard so much about leading up to the election was supposed to be a double-edged sword – a drop in voter turnout for Obama, and a groundswell of support for Mitt Romney.
Only one edge lived up to the hype. President Obama received 10 million fewer votes than in 2008.
But his Republican challenger saw no edge on his side, earning roughly 5 million fewer votes than President Bush in 2004, and even receiving 3 million fewer than the hapless John McCain campaign in 2008.
So I have to ask my fellow Republicans – Where the hell were you last night?
Not showing up just granted four more years of absolute failure to this President.
It’s four more years of trudging off to work knowing that a majority of your paycheck will be going to support government programs that benefit those who see no benefit in working.
Four more years of 8% unemployment being the norm in America.
Four more years culminating in over $20 trillion in debt.
Four years of further creating an entitlement society, one in which our children will live their lives predominantly dependent on government.
Four more years of having to accept the President’s own mantra – that American exceptionalism is a thing of the past.
Where were you when liberals took your country from you?
Now we get to sit back and find out what America would have looked like had Jimmy Carter won a second term – fasten your seatbelts and hold on to your misery index, it’s going to be one hell of a ride.
As for our Democrat counterparts: It shouldn’t bother anyone to hear you shouting “Four more years!” But it should bother you that every other America-hating leader around the globe is now chanting the same thing.
It’s been nine days since Hurricane Sandy battered the east coast.
Over 110 people (so far) have been killed.
Over $50 billion in estimated damages.
And Chris Matthews being the true liberal sycophant that he is, is glad that it happened – because it helped re-elect his idol, Barack Obama.
CHRIS MATTHEWS: Let me just close my thoughts tonight. It takes a half a second. I am so proud of the country to re-elect this president and overcoming, not because of the partisanship or any of the, even the policies. Just the fact, here’s an African guy, African-American guy from an unusual background. Part immigrant background, part African-American background with all this assault on him from day one, from Mitch McConnell, from the clowns out there that aren’t elected and never will be to anything. And the way he took it, as somebody said it, with coolness and charm and dignity, and just took it and took it and kept moving forward doing his job. And, and the American people, and I know we look at these percentages, 40 percent of the white vote, fine. That’s about right among Democrats in the last couple of cycles, three cycles or four.
Good work for them, good work for him, a good day for America. I’m so glad we had that storm last week because I think the storm was one of those things. No, politically I should say, not in terms of hurting people. The storm brought in possibilities for good politics.
This is the Machiavellian mind of a liberal media member today.
Sandy will go down as one of the worst storms to ever hit America.
Millions are still without power and are battling freezing temperatures.
The lives of tens of thousands of our citizens might never be the same.
But to Chris Matthews, that’s okay because the object of his affection was re-elected.
Here’s the video…
Bill Clinton: Who Wants a President Who ‘Knowingly, Repeatedly Tells You Something He Knows Isn’t True?’
“You are laughing, but who wants a president who will knowingly, repeatedly tell you something he knows is not true? When I was a kid, if I got my hand caught in the cookie jar, where it wasn’t supposed to be, I turned red in my face, and I took my hand out of the cookie jar.”
Before we get wrongly accused of racism, you might recall that Eric Holder famously referred to the case against New Black Panther Party members who showed up to Philly voting stations in 2008 wielding clubs as demeaning to “my people“.
Guess what? They’re back…
This is a photo from the 14th Ward in Philadlephia.
And so it begins…
Its happening in Philadelphia – Democrats are trying to steal the election.
The Philadelphia GOP is reporting that court appointed Minority (read GOP) Inspectors are being thrown out of polling locations in several Wards.
The Philadelphia Enquirer is on it:
These Inspectors are election officials – again, court appointed — and are reportedly being thrown out by the Head Judges of Elections (these Judges are elected Democrats).
Philadelphia is a liberal hot bed, and will no doubt see plenty of voter intimidation tactics. It isn’t an isolated incident either.

Sick – Planned Parenthood Video Features Underage Girls Telling Their Mommy’s to Vote For Obama So They Can Have Abortions Someday
Of course, the act of abortion is blanketed safely inside the phrase ‘choice’, but the message remains the same. I’m quite certain the irony that the girls in the video would never have a choice had they been aborted, is completely lost on the folks at Planned Parenthood.
A new video making the rounds online with liberals has daughters, some of whom are clearly too young to engage in consensual sex, urging voters to support President Obama to protect legalized abortion.
“I can’t vote yet, but you can. Please vote for President Obama, otherwise your vote is a vote against me. Make the right choice so when I grow up, I can still have one,” the girls say.
The video was tweeted out by Planned Parenthood this afternoon, accompanied with this message:
Powerful video: Daughters ask their mothers to #vote for @BarackObama
It’s powerful alright – powerfully nauseating.

Republican Internal Polling Has Romney Up in Ohio, Iowa, New Hampshire, Tied in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin
If these figures are correct, Romney will almost certainly become the 45th President of the United States…
Via the Daily Mail:
Mitt Romney is ahead by a single percentage point in Ohio, according to internal polling data provided to MailOnline by a Republican party source.
Internal campaign polling completed last night by campaign pollster Neil Newhouse has Romney three points up in New Hampshire, two points up in Iowa and dead level in Wisconsin and – most startlingly – Pennsylvania.
If the Romney campaign’s internal numbers are correct – and nearly all independent pollsters have come up with a picture much more favourable for Obama – then the former Massachusetts governor will almost certainly be elected 45th U.S. President.
Then there’s these headlines on Drudge:
It’s going to be a stressful day tomorrow for most of us. But not in the mind of Dick Morris, who is predicting a Romney landslide.
Via Gateway Pundit:
Dick Morris doubled-down today telling Megyn Kelly on America Live there is a 90% chance Mitt Romney will win tomorrow and a 60% chance it will be a landslide.
