Sharpton: Republicans to Blame For High Minority Unemployment, By Intentionally Cutting Agencies Where They Are Employed

November 25, 2012 at 4:32 pm (Al Sharpton, Private Sector, Public Sector, Racist, Republicans, Tawana Brawley, Unemployment)

Having recently learned that the word ‘incompetent’ is a racial code word, we are forced to refer to Al Sharpton’s latest comments as an example of something much different…

Is it racist to refer to somebody as simply an uninformed dumba**?

Via Radio Equalizer (h/t Weasel Zippers):

“One of the reason that I think people do not understand why unemployment has gone down and in some cases black unemployment and Latino’s has remained stagnant is over the last thirty two months Dr. Hutchinson, they’ve increased jobs and found jobs unemployment has gone down in the private sector. What has not gone down is in the public sector and blacks in particular are disproportionately in the public sector.”

“One of the reasons those jobs have gone down, or have remained down is one the Republicans are cutting a lot of the agencies, where we are the employees are government jobs, government employed and a lot of those jobs go through governors and mayors who are also have had cutbacks. So what we’ve got to do and we addressed that to the President is take on these governors and mayors as well as the private sector on why the private sector is getting all these contract and bailouts and not hiring and correcting the disproportionate amount of their employment does not touch our community and have the President and them support us in that.”

Because Sharpton’s simple mind has to work in generalizations, this sweeping insinuation can easily be disproved.
According to the Department of Labor, blacks do indeed make up a higher percentage of public sector workers at 19.3%, while whites make up 14.2% – but Hispanics come in at a much lower 10.4%.  The opposite levels are true for the private sector – Hispanics are highest at 83.7%, whites at 78.5% and blacks at 76.9%.
So if one were to look at it from Sharpton’s little eyes (a terrifying thought), Republicans can’t intentionally be raising the unemployment rate of both blacks and Hispanics.  In fact if anything, they are benefiting the Latino population.
Additionally, the folks at the Right Scoop point out why these comments should be demeaning to the African-American community:

“… the inference he’s making is that blacks don’t really stand a chance in the private sector on their own, that they need government jobs so they can get hired though a system of nepotism or something. Or else they need government coercion in the private sector through contracts and bailouts.”

On a side note, does anybody remember the time Sharpton intentionally increased the unemployment rate of white police officers in New York when he participated in a racially charged rape hoax?

Bronx Assemblywoman’s Secret Facebook Page Reveals "Sultry" Relationship With Staffer She Hired

August 13, 2012 at 7:00 am (Al Sharpton, Assemblywoman, Boy Toy, Bronx, Daniela Rivera, Gal Pals, Jose Rivera, Naomi Rivera, New York, Tommy Torres)

Naomi Rivera is a Bronx Assemblywoman with an apparent love of a man she placed on her staff, and an even greater love of broadcasting her relationships on social media.  The New York Post has reported that Rivera has a ‘secret’ Facebook page under the name Daniela Rivera.

While the Post delves into a bit of tabloid reporting on Rivera’s gal pals, and her “lacy red bra”, it does raise a much bigger issue of potential corruption – Her relationship with Tommy Torres whom she placed on the government payroll.

But more than anything, the lawmaker’s Internet alter-ego is devoted to Tommy Torres, a fellow Democrat eight years her junior whom she has been dating for at least two years — and whom she put on her government payroll.

Dozens of photos on Daniela’s page show Rivera with her hunky “babe” in various poses — locking lips, nuzzling his cheek and dirty dancing.

The legislator began posting romantic photos of Torres in 2009, when she created the page under “Daniela,” her middle name, and a year before she hired him or finalized her divorce from husband Antonio Rodriguez.

Torres pulled down $18,123 in taxpayer-funded salary while working out of Rivera’s Morris Park district office for four months in 2010, records show.

But exactly what he did for his $1,100-a-week rate remains unclear — as does the question of how it was even possible for him to work for Rivera when he was already working full time as a gym teacher and high-school sports coach.

According to state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office and Assembly records, Torres was listed as a “full-time” community-relations director for Rivera from Aug. 30, 2010, until Jan. 1, 2011.

At the same time, city Department of Education records indicate, he worked full time at Brooklyn’s PS 157 and made extra money coaching after class. In 2010, he earned a total of $89,550 from the DOE, records show.

Rivera eventually responds to reporter inquiries by asking them to respect her privacy.

First off, if you’re a public figure who has hired a staffer that collects taxpayer funds as a second job, and you are also romantically involved with said staffer, then the public has a right to know about your boy toy’s job, what he did if anything, and how much he was paid.

Second, if you want people to respect your privacy, then don’t post pictures of yourself in scantily clad embraces with staff members on Facebook.  Isn’t that common knowledge?

Rivera is the daughter of Jose Rivera, a man the Other McCain calls “a corrupt Bronx Democrat machine politician”.  Rivera was arrested in 2001 for trespassing, along with two other New York politicians and Al Sharpton.

Dem: Unemployed Will Vote For Obama in Order to Keep Their Welfare Benefits

April 26, 2012 at 7:12 am (Al Sharpton, Benefits, Chaka Fattah, Democrat, Food Stamps, House Appropriations Commitee, President Obama, Unemployment, Welfare)

Maybe the unemployed should vote for Romney in order to have a shot at getting a paying job.

Via the Washington Examiner:

Rep. Chaka Fattah, D-Penn., explained last night how unemployment could actually encourage people to vote for President Obama in order to secure welfare benefits such as food stamps.
“Unemployment continues to drop and those people who are unemployed, they’re not going to be voting for the party who wants to cut their benefits — cut access to food stamps, cut job training,” Fattah, Senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee, told MSNBC’s Al Sharpton last night.

So, Obama ups the unemployment rate over 8%, watches 88 million people drop out of the workforce, and sits back as the votes roll in because those people no longer have to work to earn their money?

I’ve been wrong all along.  Obama is a genius.

NAACP President Denounces Racial Profiling, Then Immediately Starts Racial Profiling

April 12, 2012 at 7:00 am (Al Sharpton, Albany, Benjamin Jealous, George Zimmerman, Jesse Jackson, Michael Bloomberg, NAACP, New York, Race Baiting, Racial Profiling, Trayvon Martin)

NAACP President Benjamin Jealous was in town on Wednesday for an event called, “Why Me?  Racial Profiling in the Wake of the Trayvon Martin Shooting.”  He took the opportunity to denounce racial profiling, but then immediately followed the event with some profiling of his own.

Via the Times Union:

Jealous focused mostly on the issue of racial profiling, which he said sits at the heart of the Martin shooting. He recently spent a week in Sanford, Fla., where the unarmed Martin, 17, was slain by Zimmerman, a Neighborhood Watch member. Zimmerman has argued he shot his gun in self defense. The black teenager’s family and civil rights activists are outraged about the killing, demanding Zimmerman face charges for killing the unarmed Martin.
The death has triggered questions about whether Zimmerman profiled Martin, who was wearing a hooded sweatshirt as he returned from buying candy and a soft drink at a store near the gated community where he was shot.
“This case strikes a chord for two reasons in that community: one, there’s a widespread pain and frustration with racial profiling, and two, because of much more deeply felt, narrowly felt pain that the homicides, the killings of black men is just not treated the same way by the local law enforcement community as the killing of other people.”

Jealous spoke with reporters after the conference, and welcomed the news that George Zimmerman was now being charged with second-degree murder.

But while he may have denounced racial profiling in no uncertain terms when describing the Trayvon Martin shooting, Jealous tossed it around rather casually when describing the Mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg.

Jealous added, “We have Mayor Bloomberg jacking up Syrian-Christians thinking that they’re Muslims in New York City because they run a bakery with a Middle Eastern name,” he said, “and jacking up Muslims because they’re Muslims, not because they’re criminals, and throwing young black men up against the wall probably because the police are afraid to go after young white men. Why? Because in New York City there ain’t no poor white men. No poor white people in New York City anymore. Those movies are about the Bronx or Brooklyn. Little Italy is a movie set at this point. And there are very few young rich black men, boys in New York City, walking home from school. And yet they get thrown against the wall, too.”

So Jealous believes that the police will only go after young black men because they’re too afraid to go after young white men – because there are no poor white men in the city.  Really?  Not one?  Aren’t you kind of…. profiling?

Also, noticeably absent from Jealous’ comments was a letter written to the NAACP which killed the media-driven narrative that Zimmerman’s actions were racially motivated.  Excerpts from that letter include:

“You will recall the incident of the beating of the black homeless man Sherman Ware on December 4, 2010 by the son of a Sanford police officer. The beating sparked outrage in the community but there were very few that stepped up to do anything about it. I would presume the inaction was because of the fact that he was homeless not because he was black. Do you know the individual who stepped up when no one else in the black community would? Do you know who spent tireless hours putting flyers on the cars of persons parked in the churches of the black community? Do you know who waited for the church-goers to get out of church so that he could hand them flyers in an attempt to organize the black community against this horrible miscarriage of justice? Do you know who helped organize the City Hall meeting on January 8, 2011 at Sanford City Hall??
That person was GEORGE ZIMMERMAN.” — from a letter to Turner Clayton of the Seminole County NAACP written by “a concerned Zimmerman family member”.

But hey, that would ruin the narrative.  Jealous is simply continuing the tradition started by his other race-baiting colleagues, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.  Their motto?  Racial profiling for me, but not for thee…

Video: MSNBC’s Al Sharpton – "You a Punk F*****"

March 14, 2012 at 9:00 am (Al Sharpton, Anti-Semitism, Bill O'Reilly, Homophobic, Mitt Romney, MSNBC, Rush Limbaugh, Tawana Brawley)

Yet another plain-as-day example of what is tolerated and shrugged off in the liberal media today.  Had this been a clip of Bill O’Reilly or Rush Limbaugh from the ’80s, the left would have organized, protested, and marched until they were no longer gracing our airwaves.  But the Reverand Al Sharpton?  Nah, rhetoric like this is just some foolish slip of the tongue from his past.  No big deal.

Other comments by Sharpton that are no big deal:

  • “If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house”.
  • “White folks was [sic] in caves while we was building empires…. We taught philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos ever got around to it.”
  • On Mitt Romney –  “As for the one Mormon running for office, those who really believe in God will defeat him anyways, so don’t worry about that; that’s a temporary situation.”
Also, there’s this.  Tawana freakin’ Brawley.

Via Yid with Lid:
This post was originally published in December 2010. But since Politico published the video below  as an exclusive today, I thought I would republish from the days it was my “exclusive”.  With a bonus video of Sharpton calling Colin Powell Bush’s House Negro.  Since the liberals are unsuccessfully trying to get Rush Limbaugh off the air, I wonder if they will do the same with Rev. Al…
… For us, though, the highlight of the the trailer for “Évocateur” is the brief time capsule look at Al Sharpton, then a rotund Brooklyn reverend with a prodigious konk. As seen above, during a commercial break–but while cameras continued rolling–the civil rights leader is seen yelling at an audience member who likely had commented negatively on Sharpton’s weight, race, bow tie, or affiliation withTawana Brawley. Perhaps all four.
Saying that he was “tired of them acting big,” Sharpton told the unseen audience member, “You ain’t nothing! You a punk faggot!” Gesturing for the Downey fan to come up to the stage and rumble, Sharpton added, “Now come on and do something.” Since becoming a respected leader, Rev. Al has dropped the term “punk faggot” from his fiery verbal repertoire, records show.
