Video: Democrat Talks About ‘Working Together’ and ‘Civility’, Promptly Shoves Camera in Reporter’s Face

November 4, 2012 at 11:51 am (Assault, Civility, Nancy Pelosi, New Tone, Nick Lampson, Randy Weber, Ron Paul, Texas)

This is Democrat Nick Lampson, currently running for a congressional seat in the 14th District of Texas.

Nick is vying to replace the retiring Ron Paul.

Nick is in a tight battle with Republican opponent, state Rep. Randy Weber.

Nick likes to speak about “civility” and “working together”, citing Nancy Pelosi as an example.

Nick lectures about civility, while shoving cameras in the face of a reporter who asks questions he doesn’t like.

Nick is not very civil, is he?

Don’t be a Nick…

Occupier Charged With Assaulting Police Officer With Metal Pipe

April 16, 2012 at 3:00 pm (Alexander Penley, Assault, New York, Nicholas Thommen, NYPD, Occupy Wall Street)

I don’t remember this ever happening at a Tea Party rally…

On a side note, why haven’t these slugs gone home yet?  What can they possibly hope to achieve, besides the ability to urinate and defecate in public?

Via Gothamist:

According to police, the two men who were arrested in front of the Sixth Street Community Center last night allegedly assaulted an NYPD sergeant with a metal pipe in front of the Starbucks on Astor Place. One of the men, 41-year-old Alexander Penley, is an attorney and has been an Occupy Wall Street organizer since the movement began in the fall.

Penley, along with 30-year-old Nicholas Thommen, were arrested around 10 p.m. after what witnesses described as a violent scuffle between the two men and police officers, and are charged with a litany of offenses, including assaulting a police officer, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and inciting a riot.
Penley has been quoted in stories about Occupy Wall Street in The Guardian and USA Today, and appeared on the local Manhattan television show Let Them Talk in October.

A police report of the incident provides even further details:

The NYPD’s press release on the arrests refers to them as “anarchist-related arrests of individuals among a group of 25 who fought with police and who had tried to use eight-foot-long galvanized metal pipes to smash windows of a Starbucks at Astor Place and Lafayette Street at 8:45 p.m.” The police also claim that patrons of Starbucks were hiding under the tables during the incident.

The release states that an NYPD lieutenant also sustained injuries in the incident, but there is no mention of their severity. After police took one man into custody outside the Starbucks, “At an after-party at the 6th Street community center within the confines of the 9th Precinct, police were assaulted again as they took a suspect outside of the location there into custody.”

50-Year-Old White Man Beaten Severely by Black Teens in Same Town as Trayvon Martin – Crickets Heard Chirping

April 4, 2012 at 9:00 am (Assault, Florida, Julius Ricardo Bender, Life Threatening, Race Baiting, Sanford, Trayvon Martin, Yahaziel Isaac Israel)

Where, oh where, are the professional race-baiters now?  Where is the national outcry?

Via Weasel Zippers:

The below story doesn’t mention the victim’s race but another local station’s newscast identifies him as white.
(Orlando Sentinel) — A tip to Crimeline has led to the arrests of two men in a brutal beating that occurred a week ago in the Midway community east of Sanford.
Julius Ricardo Bender, 18, and Yahaziel Isaac Israel, 19, face charges of attempted first-degree murder, burglary with assault or battery and armed burglary.
The victim, a 50-year-old Winter Springs man whose name has not been released, is on life-support at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Deputies were called to the area of Lincoln Street and Beardall Avenue about 6:30 p.m. March 26 to investigate a report of a man being beaten, Seminole County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Heather Smith said.
They found the victim in the woods on the north side of Lincoln Street.
According to arrest affidavits:
A witness told deputies he heard someone screaming for help and saw two men pull the victim from his vehicle. He said he watched as one man held the victim and the other beat him in the head with a hammer.
After they dragged the victim into the woods, the men drove away in his sport utility vehicle, which was later found abandoned about a half-mile away on Garbo Jack Lane.

Divided States claims the attack happened at a very coincidental time:

A tip to Crimeline has led to the arrests of two black teens in a brutal beating that occurred a week ago in the Midway community east of Sanford, Florida, the same city as the Trayvon martin case on the same day when Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson and New Black Panther’s leaders rallied to protest a tumped-up racial profiling case with Trayvon Martin.

Making that leap in judgment seems a bit premature, and would make any declaration that the race-baiters fueled this attack no better than the mainstream media.  But let’s see how many news outlets actually report this case.  I’m taking odds that it will be far less than the Martin case.

Report: Trayvon Martin Tried to Grab Zimmerman’s Gun While Attacking Him, Witnesses Corroborate Story

March 27, 2012 at 10:43 am (Assault, Florida, George Zimmerman, Gun, Media, Orlando Sentinel, Race Baiting, Trayvon Martin, Violence)

The liberal media will never let the facts stand in the way of a really good race-baiting story…

Via WTAM-1100:

The neighborhood watch volunteer who fatally shot Trayvon Martin said the Florida teen physically attacked him and tried to get his gun, ABC News reported.

The Orlando Sentinel reported Monday authorities said on the night of the Feb. 26 incident and in subsequent meetings George Zimmerman described and re-enacted what he said happened. He told police he had followed the youth because he was behaving suspiciously but turned around after losing sight of him…

… Zimmerman told authorities he was walking back to his sport utility vehicle when the 17-year-old approached him from behind. The two exchanged words, with the teen asking the Zimmerman volunteer if he had a problem and when the man replied no, allegedly said something to the effect “Well, you do now,” the Sentinel said.

Zimmerman said Martin knocked him to the ground with one punch, then jumped on him and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times so hard he was bloodied and battered, the Sentinel said. He said he then shot Martin, who was unarmed, once in the chest from close range in self-defense.

ABC News reported a police source quoted Zimmerman as saying the youth had tried to get his gun.

And then, there’s this…

Authorities told the newspaper much of Zimmerman’s account has been corroborated by witnesses.

Occupy: "We Won’t Make a Difference If We Don’t Kill a Cop or 2"

March 19, 2012 at 7:49 am (Assault, Commies, Death Threat, NYPD, Occupy Wall Street, OWS, Police, Syria, Weather Underground, Zuccoti Park)

When that movement of ‘mostly peaceful’ protesters at Occupy aren’t busy demanding Syria-like violent protests, or celebrating books written by the Weather Underground, or supporting cop-killers in general, it seems they’re using their spare time to make death threats via the Twitter.

Via the New York Daily News:

Police are investigating an apparent Occupy Wall St. protester’s online threat to kill cops.
Someone with the Twitter handle “smackema1” tweeted this message at 11:39 p.m. Saturday, following a clash at Zuccotti Park.: “we wont make a difference if we dont kill a cop or 2.”
The tweet was directed to a page on Ustream showing live footage of the protests.
The writer was had tweeted several comments about the protests Saturday night.
The NYPD is seeking a subpoena to find out who’s behind the Twitter account, according to Paul Browne, the department’s top spokesman.

Occupiers had tried to stay in Zuccoti Park on St. Patrick’s Day in an attempt to reclaim the area after their eviction back in November.

In addition to the Twitter threat, two police officers and their families received phone threats, and during the melee itself a protester elbowed a cop repeatedly in the face, while another separate activist was charged with assault.  Not to mention another individual who was charged with attempted robbery and sexual abuse when he apparently tried to capitalize on the chaos in a way that only an Occupier can.  In all, 73 people were arrested.

The Other McCain laments the difficult task being assigned to the NYPD:

St. Patrick’s Day, like New Year’s Eve, is one of those occasions when I carefully avoid alcohol because I refuse to drink with amateurs. But for many Americans, St. Patrick’s Day is a festive occasion celebrated with drunken revelry. Now imagine you’re a New York cop, looking forward to a Saturday night of green beer with your buddies, and you find out instead you’ve been assigned weekend overtime duty because a bunch of Commie freaks have decided to have a protest:

He adds, rather humorously:

That’s the way to do it, NYPD! Give ‘em a sweet taste of the nightstick!
But doesn’t NYPD have tasers? Jack ‘em up with some high voltage!
Billy clubs, tasers, pepper spray, whatever it takes to keep Marxist scum off the streets of New York, do it. These whiny deadbeats are a menace to public safety — scabiestuberculosisrape! — and if they refuse to disperse peacefully, they have thereby declared war on the law-abiding citizens of New York, whom the NYPD are sworn to protect and serve.
