Today, New York GOP Chairman Ed Cox released the following stattement:
“Once again, we’re happy to welcome President Obama back to New York State, where our unemployment rate (9.1%) is a full point above the national average.
America and the world are in crisis: unemployment is still high, our national debt has topped $16 trillion, our embassies are burning and Iran is closer than ever to becoming a nuclear nation.
Against this backdrop, Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu asked Barack Obama for a meeting.
Obama turned down the request from the leader of America’s closes ally in the Middle East.
Instead, the President of the United States will be hobnobbing with Jay-Z and Beyonce at a $40,000-per-person, 100-person fundraiser at the swank 40/40 Club – that’s a cash haul of $4 million for the President.
Put another way, Obama will leave New York with $4.68 for every one of our state’s unemployed workers.
America needs a President more interested in the status of our allies abroad and our unemployed at home than in partying with celebrities: America needs Mitt Romney in the White House.”
Actor Robert De Niro thrilled the crowd at a New York fundraiser headlined by first lady Michelle Obama when he listed the alternatives.
“Callista Gingrich. Karen Santorum. Ann Romney. Now do you really think our country is ready for a white first lady?” De Niro asked a star-studded crowd gathered in the backroom of Locanda Verde, a restaurant he owns on Greenwich Street in TriBeCa.
Someone in the crowd shouted, “No!” as De Niro quickly added, “Too soon, right?”
Celebrities including Beyonce, her mother Tina Knowles, Star Jones, Whoopi Goldberg, Gayle King, Angela Bassett and Ben Stiller were spotted by the pool reporter at the 85-person event, where tickets started at $5,000 per person, benefiting the Obama Victory Fund. Film producer Harvey Weinstein, a bundler who’s brought in more than $500,000 in donation and was a guest at last week’s White House state dinner for British Prime Minister David Cameron, was also spotted at the event.
The most free-spending President in the history of the United States, the supposed warrior for the middle class, and the man who proclaimed that the Occupy Wall Street movement reflects a “broad-based frustration” with the U.S. financial system, has gone all 1% on your a**, offering upscale fashion designs to benefit – not the 99% – but his own campaign.
ABC News reports:
Forget those pedestrian campaign t-shirts, buttons and bumper stickers. The Obama Campaign has officially gone upscale and chic in an effort to help re-elect the president in 2012.
Their new “Runway to Win” line of designer campaign swag is now for sale in the campaign’s online store, featuring colorful $85 tote bags by big name designers Vera Wang and Diane Von Furstenberg and a $75 version by fashion favorite Tory Burch.
The priciest of the 13 items listed online is a $95 for a Thakoon-designed silk scarf.
There are t-shirts designed by Sean Combs and Beyonce, and various other high-end items from designers and celebrities, such as Jason Wu, Marc Jacobs, and Russell Simmons.
Warner Todd Huston of Wizbang laments:
Obama? Why, he’s the middle class warrior, isn’t he? He’s the veritable man of the people, darn it. He has beer summits and he chows down on burgers and fries just like us reg’lar folks. Gone are the arugula days, the million-dollar vacations and secret Hollywood star-studded Halloween parties…. one out of three ain’t bad, anyway. On the other hand, perhaps all those claims of Obama’s middle class appeal are a bit of a show. If Obama’s new high-end, très chic campaign gear is any indication, he’s driving right for the vaunted One Percent.
And just to add contrast, those nasty rich Republicans are offering bargain basement prices for their swag…
As to the Republicans, t-shirts on Mitt Romney’s website cost no higher than $30, Newt’s t-shirts are only $20 — or you can get an embroidered polo for $40 — and Ron Paul charges even less offering his Ts for the low, low, dime-store prices of $17 and $18.
Of course, the banter coming out of the DNC that Obama is ‘just a dude‘ and that he really sympathizes with the 99% is complete bunk. They must really think that the strategy to pull the wool over the American people’s eyes worked so good in ’08, that they can do it again. They pretend to be regular Target shopping Americans, whilst selling off $95 scarves, in between 90 rounds of golf while the wife is sipping Mai Tais in a $2000 sundress and a pair of $545 tennis shoes, on their taxpayer funded, $4 million vacation stay in Hawaii..
Anyway, check out the store and have fun shopping 99 percenters!

Oh hypocrisy, thy name is Jay-Z. Remember when hip hop artist, Jay-Z was feigning support for the Occupy Wall Street movement by selling t-shirts… And then keeping the proceeds?
Well, his true colors have reared their ugly head again…
She’s not even two days old, but Beyonce and Jay-Z’s new baby girl is already proving to be a diva thanks to the over-the-top security measures afforded to her famous parents at the Manhattan hospital where she was born.
To accommodate the influential couple’s demand for privacy at Lenox Hill Hospital, other new and expecting parents said they were essentially put on “lockdown” and even booted out of the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) — on the same floor as Beyonce’s delivery “suite” — so the pampered songstress and her party could come and go unencumbered.
“They just used the hospital like it was their own and nobody else mattered,” raged new dad Neil Coulon, whose efforts to see his premature, newborn twins in the NICU were disrupted by the birth of little Blue Ivy Carter.
Read the article to find out how they came up with the name Blue Ivy. Rumor has it ‘Mike Check’ would have been the preference had it been a boy.
Published reports had the tab for occupying an entire floor of the hospital at $1.3 million, and that it had been revamped with bullet-proof glass and populated with body guards.
The New York Post added:
Last night, at least four security guards stood watch at the hospital’s fourth-floor elevator bank, where new parents and grandparents were still voicing their frustrations over security measures that delayed or completely prevented them from visiting.
“People are really upset and complaining,” said the hospital worker, noting that the medical staff has to “shut down” whenever there’s movement on Beyoncé’s part.
Don’t let that fool you, they’re still just one of the unwashed masses…
