Dr. Charles Ogletree, the Harvard Law Professor who has signed up to teach an ‘understanding Obama’ class, has somehow managed to misunderstand the Florida “Stand Your Ground” law, which can be found in some form or another in 33 states. The bottom line?
It’s racist. Naturally. (Video below)
Via the Daily Caller:
Dr. Charles Ogletree, who taught both Barack and Michelle Obama at Harvard Law School, aid during the National Action Network convention Wednesday that the slain teen Trayvon Martin is a “symbol of whats wrong” with America.
Complaining about the Florida “stand your ground” law that may protect Martin’s killer George Zimmerman from prosecution, Ogletree encouraged his audience of activists to imagine the racial tables were turned.
“Just think about changing the race,” Ogletree said. “I want to see the first black man who uses the ‘stand your ground’ defense and see if it works — first white victim of the Stand Your Ground by a black defendant and see if it works.”
Of course, Zimmerman as we have shown, has self-identified as an Hispanic Democrat. But why let the facts stand in the way of a good white on black crime story?
After demonstrating a thorough lack of knowledge regarding the system of checks and balances in government, with his veiled threat directed at the Supreme Court, President Obama certainly raised some eyebrows.
“I used to think some of these right-wingers were kind of nutty demanding to see Obama’s college and law school transcripts. I want to see them now,” Ann Coulter said.
But instead of releasing those college transcripts, Harvard is now offering a course in how to better understand the President. Because as always, it’s not him, it’s you that is a moron.

Not every Harvard Law School alumnus has a class devoted to him — but then, President Barack Obama is not just any alumnus.According to the Harvard Law School course catalog, professor Charles Ogletree will be teaching a reading group called “Understanding Obama” for one classroom credit during the 2013 spring term.“This reading group will focus on the way in which race, religion, and politics have impacted the development of President Obama as a leader,” the Harvard Law School Course Catalog explains. “We will explore his views as a biracial child, his time as a student at Harvard Law School, the successes and failures of his political campaigns, and the way religion and his views on faith nearly derailed his campaign. Finally, time will be spent analyzing the challenges he faces as president of the United States in establishing both his domestic and global policies.”Obama graduated from Harvard Law School in 1991. He was elected the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review in 1990.Ogletree was a mentor to both President Obama and Michelle Obama while they were Harvard law students. In an interview, Ogletree explained to The Daily Caller that the reading group will deal with both the positive and negative issues surrounding Obama and his presidency.
Then again who knows, maybe studying his grades and his research papers will be part of the curriculum.
The bigger story here isn’t that Obama is shown embracing a radical professor. We know that the President associates himself with some of the more extreme members of society – i.e. Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, etc.
The real news here is the flat-out admission by his peers that they intentionally withheld the video so as not to damage Obama’s election prospects in 2008. Further, the video could easily have been obtained and placed in proper context by any self-respecting member of the media – if they wanted to.
. . . Barack Obama was as close or closer to Derrick Bell than he ever was to Jeremiah Wright. Obama didn’t merely sit in the pews — or not — for Derrick Bell. He didn’t just hang out with Derrick Bell for prayers. He said:
“Open up your hearts and your minds to the words of Professor Derrick Bell.”
If we did, here’s what we’d be opening our hearts and minds to. This is a close associate of Jeremiah Wright, a man who was quoted by Jeremiah Wright regularly. This is a man who posited that the civil rights movement was too moderate because it accepted the status quo, and believed that the entire legal and constitutional system had to be transformed in radical fashion. This is a man so extreme that, as we’ve reported, he wrote a story in 1993 in which he posited that white Americans would sell black Americans into slavery to aliens to relieve the national debt, and that Jews would go along with it.
Remember the words of his friend and ally, Professor Charles Ogletree:
‘Of course, we hid this during the 2008 election… I don’t care if they find it now.’
Of course we hid who Obama really was, and we knew the media wouldn’t do a damn thing about it.
