Democrats held a voice vote yesterday in an attempt to get God and Jerusalem back onto their platform. Republicans had roundly ripped President Obama and the Democrats after it was discovered that the language had been omitted in the party’s official platform.
It was a clear attempt to pander to the pro-Israeli vote, after the sudden realization that Americans do actually like their government supporting its closest ally in the Middle East. And it was a clear attempt to reverse an embarrassing situation in which Democrats were revealed as the Godless party.
The voice vote required two-thirds majority to get God and Jerusalem back into the platform, and as you can see by this video it was an epic disaster on the floor of the DNC.
Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, whose main job is to constantly lie about everything in front of her said, “It was absolutely a two-thirds”. Watch that video again – there is absolutely no way they had a two-thirds majority. CNN’s Anderson Cooper agreed, calling Wasserman-Scultz’ interpretation “an alternate reality”.
“Sad is the only way to describe what happened tonight at the Democratic Convention in Charlotte. It took three roll calls for Kirsten Gillibrand and the Democrats to ram through the obvious, first an acknowledgement that ‘God’ belongs in their party platform and second that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. (They owe) an apology for this profoundly disturbing display.”
Democrat Strategist Paul Begala on CNN: “Beyond awkward. It’s embarrassing. It’s stupid. It’s an unforced error by my party.”
CNN”s John King: “Normally you count your ducks. If you’re going to fix something in an open convention, you count your ducks first. That was embarrassing.”
King would later add this – “This is Keystone Cops”:
“Can you imagine a nation founded on the principles of God is being taken over by a party that despises God, denies God’s existence and wants to stab Israel in the back in order to support the Islamists who would kill the Jews and drive them out of the Middle East?” he asked.
Things are so bad after this fumble that chief Democrat operatives have had to cancel interviews today.
What a joke.
… Of Obama’s Budget.
Sure that’s a bit of a shocking headline, but we learned over-the-top bombastic statements from the Democrats themselves – specifically, DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
DWS recently accused the Republicans of having “fully embraced extremism”. So when Democrats last month reached across the aisle with their Republican counterparts to defeat President Obama’s budget by a vote of 414-0, it stands to reason that they were also ‘fully embracing extremism’.
Extremists as you know, have a propensity for violence, a willingness to kill. In this case, it just happened to be the Obama budget proposal that fell victim to an attack by House member extremism.
So why provide this handy reminder for the radical left?
Because Debbie Wasserman Schultz seems to have already forgotten this case of budgetary violence in her extremist past.
Maggie Thurber points out that a little noticed aspect of an interview with Fox News Bret Baier, includes DWS placing blame for the strangling of Obama’s budget solely on the lap of Republicans. Trying to pawn that vote off on Republicans appears to be blowing up in her face however.
As Thurber points out, Democrat extremists also took part in the murder…
Baier, noting that Democrats have gone out of their way to criticize the budget presented by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), said there was no Democrat budget on the table.
Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) objected stating that Pres. Barack Obama had submitted a budget. But Baier continued saying the President’s budget wasn’t being voted on.
“That’s right, because House Republicans voted it down,” she said.
The vote on Obama’s most recent budget was 414-0.
It wasn’t just House Republicans who voted it down – not a single Democrat voted for it, including Wasserman Schultz herself!
A statement addressing the budget vote from the Karen Harrington for Congress website adds:
Interestingly enough, and somewhat shocking, Obama’s Cheerleader-in-Chief, DNC Chair/Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz was present for the vote, and voted a resounding ‘Nay’ to the measure.
Yes, you read correctly, Debbie voted against her boss’ budget.
Thurber asks, “Hypocrisy, lies, distortions …how does she live with herself?“
It’s easy… when you’re extreme.
A DNC adviser and strategist, Hilary Rosen, is under fire for criticizing Ann Romney as having “never worked a day in her life”.
Apparently raising five children doesn’t constitute a real job to Ms. Rosen.
Via ABC News:
Ann Romney’s debut on Twitter couldn’t have come at a more opportune time.
Ann’s first tweet came just moments after Democratic strategist and DNC adviser Hilary Rosen lobbed an insult at Ann Romney, suggesting that the 64-year-old mother of five and grandmother of 16 had never held a job.
“Guess what, his wife has actually never worked a day in her life,” said Rosen, who was being interviewed by CNN’s Anderson Cooper about the “war on women.”
That’s when Ann herself chimed in …
And then, just like that, a familiar name popped up on Twitter: @AnnDRomney.
“I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work,” Ann tweeted.
Democrats then proceeded to toss Rosen under the bus for ruining their War on Women lie by – attacking a woman…
“I could not disagree with Hilary Rosen any more strongly. Her comments were wrong and family should be off limits. She should apologize,” Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said in a tweet.
Top Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod also tweeted his disapproval: “Also Disappointed in Hilary Rosen’s comments about Ann Romney. They were inappropriate and offensive.”
UPDATE: Rosen has apologized…
The most interesting part of that apology? The admission that the War on Women is a fabricated lie.
Wonder how this will play out in the very Jewish community that Democrats are trying to reach out to. My opinion – young girl, dumb mistake, move on…
Via the Washington Free Beacon:
The Democratic Party’s newly appointed Jewish outreach liaison is pictured on Facebook in a series of provocative photos with her friends holding dollar bills and referring to themselves as “Jewbags” and the “Jew cash money team.”
Dani Gilbert, who has been a staffer in the office of Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.), was recently appointed as the Democratic National Committee’s Jewish outreach liaison, according to her Twitter feed.
Photos publicly available on her Facebook page depict her engaged in the kind of youthful displays that social media like Facebook and Twitter have made increasingly common and problematic for young Washington staffers.
In one photo, Gilbert is seen kissing paper currency of undetermined denomination. The caption at the bottom of the photo reads “JEWBAGS.” A comment left on the posting refers to Gilbert and a coterie of female companions as the “Jew cash money team.” Other photos depict Gilbert as a bit of a party girl, including one featuring an assortment of condoms.
Adds The Shark Tank:
Jew-on-Jew hate is nothing new, but within the Democratic National Committee, this is clearly unchartered territory. DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s ol’ staffer and newly named the DNC’s Jewish Outreach Liason Dani Gilbert refers to herself an her fellow khevre (khev’reh) as “Jewbags.”
Oy Veh! Can you imagine if a Republican Jewish Outreach staffer were to have posted similar pictures with these same comments? His/her head would be asked to be served on some type of Seder platter or something. Listen, I get the funny here. It’s like Blacks referring to one another as ‘N******’, right?
As William Jacobson at Legal Insurrection points out, the real controversy isn’t over the photos, it’s that Gilbert looks like a clone of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.
What makes it really freaky, doubly-freaky, is the image of the young lady hired by Wasserman-Shultz for Jewish outreach. Click at your peril. It’s safe for work, but not for the mind. Have we legalized cloning?
A DWS clone is a horrifying concept…
Democrats are aware of a little thing called the internet, right? They lie with seemingly no concern that the American people can check the tape to see if, in fact, they lied.
Here’s Debbie Wasserman Schultz on June 5th, 2011:
“Now you have the Republicans, who want to literally drag us all the way back to Jim Crow laws…”
And here she is on March 21st, 2012:
MRC Reporter: You said that the GOP’s trying to turn back to the days of Jim Crow – about the voter ID laws?
Wasserman-Schultz: I didn’t, that’s not what I said.
Here’s the video of the exchange via the Media Research Center…
Perhaps Debbie Downer needs a history refresher, as her party supported the Jim Crow laws for at least 75 years. This report from Peter Roff at U.S. News & World Report explains:
Leaving aside the idea that she perhaps does not understand what the word “literally” means, the “Jim Crow” laws were a whole series of measures indented to keep blacks and whites apart, living lives that were “separate but equal” in all kinds of ways. They were not, as Wasserman Schultz inferred, simply about keeping blacks from voting.
On the books from the end of reconstruction until the U.S. Supreme Court began to chip away at them in its landmark 1954 decision in Brown vs. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas, the “Jim Crow” laws were a stain on our national character, one put there—and here is why the subject is dangerous for Wasserman Schultz to bring up—by the Democrats.
The fact that the Voting Rights Act was pushed through Congress by a Democrat—Lyndon Johnson—does not erase the party’s history of support for institutionalized de jure racism. LBJ was only able to get the bill through with the support of Republicans, led by Senate GOP leader Everett McKinley Dirksen of Illinois.
The Democratic Party’s longtime love affair with segregation is undeniable. Who stood up for “Jim Crow” when President Eisenhower tried to enforce desegregation at Little Rock, Arkansas’ Central High School? Democrats like Arkansas Gov. Orvall Faubus, who called out the state’s National Guard to prevent black students from entering the school. It was a Democrat, Alabama Gov. George Wallace, who famously proclaimed “segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.” And it was a Democratically-controlled Georgia legislature that picked nationally-known segregationist Lester Maddox to be their state’s 75th governor in 1966.
These are all facts that Wasserman Schultz conveniently seems to have forgotten.
And now, she’s forgotten that she ever made the statement in the first place…
Somebody pinch me. I’m starting to wonder if this man is a machine, programmed for perpetual awesomeness.
Via the Blaze (Video below):
Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) had a strong message Saturday for President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz: “Get the hell out.”
West made the comments during a speech at a Palm Beach County GOP event in West Palm Beach.
“This is a battlefield that we must stand upon. And we need to let President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and my dear friend, chairman of the Democrat National Committee, we need to let them know that Florida ain’t on the table,” West said.
The audience was booing by the time West got to Pelosi’s name.
“Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else,” he continued. “You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America.”
… Yes, a full year after having an opportunity to come to her senses.
I’d say Debbie Wasserman Schultz stooped to a whole new low, but this is pretty much a consistent level for her.
Speaking in New Hampshire this morning, Wasserman Schultz heavily implied that the Tucson shooting was a result of Tea Party anger. (Video below)
Washington Examiner reports:
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., speaking in New Hampshire this morning, reminded her audience of the tragic Tucson shooting last year — and also insinuated that the Tea Party, which she said regards political opponents as “the enemy,” has enhanced divisiveness in Congress and had something to do with the shooting, at least indirectly.
“We need to make sure that we tone things down, particularly in light of the Tucson tragedy from a year ago, where my very good friend, Gabby Giffords — who is doing really well, by the way, — [was shot],” Wasserman Schultz, the Democratic National Committee chair said during a “Politics and Eggs” forum this morning. “The discourse in America, the discourse in Congress in particular . . . has really changed, I’ll tell you. I hesitate to place blame, but I have noticed it take a very precipitous turn towards edginess and lack of civility with the growth of the Tea Party movement.”
Be sure to click on the link, it actually gets worse as she doubles down on her charges.
Wasserman Schultz is fully aware the shooter was deemed unfit for trial on account of his mental illness and yet, with no facts to back her up, she uses the one-year anniversary to blame the Tea Party.
She is an utter disgrace, but this is what Democrats truly believe about the Tea Party. They want you to link the words Tea Party with terrorism. Will the President denounce DWS?
