I’m at a loss. Any ideas on why Bob Beckel, co-host of The Five, would explain away nudists by assuming they “were gang-banged” or “had sexual assault on them” as children?
Beckel usually let’s fly with some real winners when he starts shooting from the hip. It does get him into some embarrassing situations. For instance, this episode where he had the cast and crew in stitches trying to come up with the past tense for the word ‘tweet’. For those not willing to click on the link, the word rhymed with ‘swat’.
Anyway, here it is via Mediaite:
During a Fox News segment on the ongoing fight over whether nudists should be allowed to walk the streets of San Francisco, The Five co-host Bob Beckel gave a rather colorful explanation for why people become nudists in their adult life.
The remarks came after co-host Dana Perino asked the table: “What happened to these people as children that they don’t want to wear any clothes?”
Andrea Tantaros said the nudists are “desperate for attention.”
“Most of them were gang banged probably,” Beckel chimed in. The two-shot camera showed Perino wincing in shock.
“I don’t know,” he continued over his co-hosts’ laughter and disbelief. “They could have had sexual assault on them?”
The camera stayed on him, as his co-hosts remained silent, and an irritated Beckel seemingly pushed back against the producers talking to him from the control room…
Here’s the video…
The story of four Americans killed in Benghazi grows more horrifying each and every day. This should be considered perhaps the biggest scandal in Presidential history.
Does it feel like it’s brig reported as such?
Via Fox News:
Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. Consulate and subsequent attack several hours later was denied by officials in the CIA chain of command — who also told the CIA operators twice to “stand down” rather than help the ambassador’s team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.
Former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were part of a small team who were at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. Consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When they heard the shots fired, they radioed to inform their higher-ups to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to “stand down,” according to sources familiar with the exchange. An hour later, they called again to headquarters and were again told to “stand down.”
Woods, Doherty and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the Consulate which at that point was on fire. Shots were exchanged. The quick reaction force from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the Consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.
At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied. There were no communications problems at the annex, according those present at the compound. The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. In fact, at least one member of the team was on the roof of the annex manning a heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA compound. The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Specter gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.
Three separate requests for help.
Three separate denials.
They were told to stand down. They were left to die.

… Of Obama’s Budget.
Sure that’s a bit of a shocking headline, but we learned over-the-top bombastic statements from the Democrats themselves – specifically, DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
DWS recently accused the Republicans of having “fully embraced extremism”. So when Democrats last month reached across the aisle with their Republican counterparts to defeat President Obama’s budget by a vote of 414-0, it stands to reason that they were also ‘fully embracing extremism’.
Extremists as you know, have a propensity for violence, a willingness to kill. In this case, it just happened to be the Obama budget proposal that fell victim to an attack by House member extremism.
So why provide this handy reminder for the radical left?
Because Debbie Wasserman Schultz seems to have already forgotten this case of budgetary violence in her extremist past.
Maggie Thurber points out that a little noticed aspect of an interview with Fox News Bret Baier, includes DWS placing blame for the strangling of Obama’s budget solely on the lap of Republicans. Trying to pawn that vote off on Republicans appears to be blowing up in her face however.
As Thurber points out, Democrat extremists also took part in the murder…
Baier, noting that Democrats have gone out of their way to criticize the budget presented by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), said there was no Democrat budget on the table.
Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) objected stating that Pres. Barack Obama had submitted a budget. But Baier continued saying the President’s budget wasn’t being voted on.
“That’s right, because House Republicans voted it down,” she said.
The vote on Obama’s most recent budget was 414-0.
It wasn’t just House Republicans who voted it down – not a single Democrat voted for it, including Wasserman Schultz herself!
A statement addressing the budget vote from the Karen Harrington for Congress website adds:
Interestingly enough, and somewhat shocking, Obama’s Cheerleader-in-Chief, DNC Chair/Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz was present for the vote, and voted a resounding ‘Nay’ to the measure.
Yes, you read correctly, Debbie voted against her boss’ budget.
Thurber asks, “Hypocrisy, lies, distortions …how does she live with herself?“
It’s easy… when you’re extreme.
Is Powers the only liberal pundit with common sense?
I disagree in one aspect, however. If anything, Democrats are willingly trapped in the past. Voter ID laws are the one sure way to curb their monopoly on voter fraud.
Via the Daily Caller:
On Wednesday night’s “Special Report” during the weekly online segment, Fox News contributor and Daily Beast columnist Kirsten Powers said her party — the Democratic Party —is “trapped in the past” in their opposition to voter ID laws.“This is one of those arguments that I feel Democrats are sort of trapped in the past … At one point, I think this was true in extremely rural places or, you know, with people who were, you know, couldn’t read or couldn’t write — you know, in a different time,” she said. “Or when African-Americans were very afraid of the government — things like that.”…Powers suggested that the Democratic Party explore ways to make sure everyone had an ID so they could vote, instead of opposing voter ID laws outright.“Now today I’m just not on board with this,” Powers said. “I think it is perfectly reasonable to expect somebody to get an ID. And if they don’t have the money or the means to do it, the Democrats can start an organization that does that — that helps them go and raises the money to pay for them to get the ID, which is not that much money, and gives them the forms and tells them how to do it.”
President Obama hasn’t seen a race card he’s not willing to play, and that includes his personal vendetta against Fox News. The petty feud has almost entirely been fabricated in the President’s mind, as he seems fixated on the sole network in mainstream media that isn’t in the tank for him.
President Barack Obama blamed Fox News for his political woes in a private meeting with labor leaders in 2010, saying he was “losing white males” who tune into the cable outlet and “hear Obama is a Muslim 24/7,” according to journalist David Corn’s new book, “Showdown.”
In “Showdown: The Inside Story of How Obama Fought Back Against Boehner, Cantor, and the Tea Party” — which hits bookstores on Tuesday — the Washington bureau chief for Mother Jones chronicles the White House from the 2010 midterm elections to the start of the 2012 campaign. The book focuses on key moments of Obama’s presidency, such as Osama bin Laden’s assassination, the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, the Arab Spring, the debt ceiling crisis, and the president’s dealings with Congress.
Corn writes that after the midterm elections, Obama told labor leaders in December 2010 that he held Fox partly responsible for him “losing white males.”
“…Fed by Fox News, they hear Obama is a Muslim 24/7, and it begins to seep in…The Republicans have been at this for 40 years. They have new resources, but the strategy is old,” Corn recounted Obama as saying.
I’ve watched Fox News for quite some time (believe it or not I used to watch Olbermann), and I’ve never heard them once say Obama is a Muslim, let alone 24/7.
This just goes to prove one thing… Obama lies so frequently, he’s even willing to convince himself of things that are untrue.
Also, this just in, water is wet…
Via the Daily Caller:
On Tuesday’s “Kilmeade & Friends” radio show on Fox News Radio, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, accused Fox News of being in the tank for his competitor, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
Santorum made that claim as part of a larger point, that despite having a lot of things in his favor Romney has been unable to seal the deal.
“The man has had a 10-to-1 money advantage,” Santorum said. “He’s had all the organizational advantage. He’s had Fox News shilling for him every day, no offense Brian but I see it. And yet, he can’t close — he can’t seal the deal because he just doesn’t have the goods to be able to motivate the Republican base and win this election.”
Kilmeade took umbrage to the statement, but anyone who has been watching Fox lately can see they are clearly operating under the assumption that Mitt Romney is the inevitable candidate.
Retired Staff Sgt., Colleen Bushnell of the USAF delivered an impassioned response to Fox News commentator Liz Trotta. As you may recall, Trotta suggested “that women who defend this country should expect to get raped” when serving in the military.
Bushnell writes at the Service Women’s Action Network (SWAN):
Ms. Trotta’s detractors have continued to call on her to apologize, and on Fox News to fire her. What is clear to many female military sexual trauma survivors is that Ms. Trotta’s attacks, at core, stem from her belief that women should not serve in the military at all…
Did you really have to go there, Ms. Trotta? It is time for you, and others of your mindset, to join the rest of us in the year 2012 to recognize what women have been doing in the military for decades.
Bushnell goes on to describe personal trauma that she has endured while serving in the military. She speaks to Trotta from experience, then states:
With these circumstances as my truths, Ms. Trotta, I hear you. However, it is ludicrous to revisit an argument decided on more than thirty-years ago, beginning with the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act of 1948, which granted women permanent status in the regular, and reserve forces of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force.
Women are here to stay. It is time for you to get with the program. Women constitute about fifteen percent of the military’s end strength. Some say our work is responsible for avoiding the need for the draft.
It is an important counterpoint.
Just to reiterate, Jon Huntsman is practically a Democrat.
And so apparently, are his supporters. Was this a version of Rush Limbaugh’s Operation Chaos, with a lot of “independents” trying to toss in votes for Huntsman?
Even so, how do you find 51% of anyone, outside of an asylum, who thinks Obama is a satisfactory President?
From the Gateway Pundit:
Governor Jon Huntsman took third place tonight in New Hampshire. In the exit polls, 51% of Huntsman voters said they were satisfied with Obama as president. 70% of the Huntsman voters describe themselves as moderate and liberals.
