VA Congressman’s Son Caught Facilitating Voter Fraud and Forgery; UPDATE: Congressman Moran’s Son Resigns

October 24, 2012 at 3:18 pm (Barack Obama, Congress, Forgery, Fraud, James O'Keefe, Jim Moran, Patrick Moran, Project Veritas, Tim Kaine, Virginia, Voter Fraud)

Congressman Jim Moran

It was just yesterday that Congressman Jim Moran of Virginia sent a letter to Eric Holder’s Department of Justice asking him to look into allegations of voter fraud.  Turns out the Congressman may want to start investigating his own son.

Patrick Moran, who also serves as Jim Moran’s campaign Field Director, has been caught in yet another revealing investigation by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas.  The younger Moran is caught in the following video clip offering advice to a reporter on how to vote 100 times in Virginia, and also offers explicit instruction on how to fabricate utility bills in order comply with Virginia’s new voter ID law.

It is the first time a sitting Congressman has been implicated in one of these stings.

From Project Veritas:

Project Veritas has released a new investigation that exposes Representative Jim Moran’s Field Director, Patrick Moran, conspiring to commit election fraud.

When approached by an undercover investigator for advice on how to steal the votes of more than 100 people, Moran advised falsifying documents to satisfy Virginia’s new voter ID law. He said, “Bank statement obviously would be tough, but they can fake a utility bill with ease.”

Moran went on to clarify that, “You’d have to forge it.”

Announcing the release, James O’Keefe said, “This is the most damning evidence to date of the scope of voter fraud in this country. Patrick Moran is not only the son of an 11-term Congressman, but is also the Field Director on his father’s re-election campaign.

“If anyone should be opposed to voter fraud it’s him. Yet he actively encouraged our investigator to forge documents and pose as a pollster to disenfranchise registered voters in Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Maryland.”

Watchdog.org provides the staggering legal ramifications of this video:

After raising legal and practical concerns, Patrick Moran, son of Virginia Democrat James Moran, encouraged the reporter to create phony utility bills that would allow others to cast multiple votes in the November 6 election.

Supporters of stronger voter ID laws seized on the video as evidence of widespread corruption among liberal get-out-the-vote organizations.

“What he’s doing is soliciting fraudulent voter registrations and fraudulent ballots, and that’s a federal crime,” said Hans von Spakovsky, senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. “Even attempting to do that is federal crime — you don’t have to go through with it. Attempting it is a crime.”

Blogger Stacey on the Right concurs that their is some illegal activity here:

“I’m pretty sure that some laws are admitted to being broken here.”

She adds that, “the allegation that there simply isn’t voter fraud and hence no need whatsoever for laws pertaining to voter ID is so disproven”.

O’Keefe adds, “Unfortunately, what Patrick Moran doesn’t respect is the integrity of our elections. He would rather win by fraud than risk seeing the political positions of his father, Barack Obama and Tim Kaine rejected by the legitimate voters of Virginia.”

Indeed, the video is quite damning for the Moran campaign, and for Virginia Democrats in general.

Update:

Patrick Moran has resigned amid the controversy.

Via TPM:

Patrick Moran, son of Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA), resigned from his father’s campaign on Wednesday after conservative activist James O’Keefe released a video that appears to show him offering advice to an undercover videographer who claimed to want to commit voter fraud.

“Effective immediately, I have resigned from the Moran for Congress campaign,” Patrick Moran said in a statement to TPM sent from his campaign email address.

Union Bosses Admit Green Jobs Program is Bulls***, Then Help Get Taxpayer Money For Business Designed Solely to Dig Holes and Fill Them Back In

July 18, 2012 at 11:32 am (Chuck Schumer, Democrat, Fraud, Government Waste, Green Jobs, Green New York, James O'Keefe, Kirsten Gillibrand, New York, Project Veritas, Republican, Taxpayer Money, Unions, Waste)

James O’Keefe has released a new video from his Project Veritas website which shows union bosses confessing that the Green Jobs, Green New York program is ‘a lot of bulls***’.

Green Jobs – Green New York is a statewide program aimed at “promoting energy efficiency and installing clean technologies to reduce energy costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions”.

The program was created under former Governor David Patterson, and was funded using money that some would consider a scam in the first place – $112 million acquired by auctioning carbon emission credits through the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).

One union boss seen in the video below is John Hutchings, director of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) New York State Laborers’ Organizing Fund (NYSLOF).

Hutchings states:

“You know, the Green Jobs, Green New York, between us, a lot of it is bullshit… even if it’s bullshit, I think as long as people are working, that’s not bull, you know what I mean?”

Hutchings and other union members then try to demonstrate their expertise in the field of bulls*** businesses, when they try to help the individuals in the investigative video get taxpayer money for a fictitious and wholly useless business.

Here is a description of that business:

First, our excavation specialists insert their shovels into the ground and remove the soil. This presents the problem of an existing hole in the earth, creating a dangerous situation that could lead to hazards, including but not limited to tripping, falling, and bodily injuries.

Then there is the renewal process. At Earth Supply, we train professional backfillers to renew the soil in place of the existing hole, restoring the earth to its original condition.

Some folks say we’re just digging ditches and filling them back up again. But it’s about more than that. It’s about jobs.

They’ve created a business that digs holes and then fills them back in.  And when they ask local union bosses to move subsidies through legislatures for that type of company, the unions are more than willing to lend a hand.

The justification?  The fake company has created new union members.

What’s more is that these union people essentially admit to having no concern about wasting taxpayer money on the project.

One business manager for the local AFL-CIO branch compares the dead end hole-digging enterprise to a program run under FDR in the ’30s.

“They dug the roads up, put ‘em back!” says an animated Tocci.

Says Tocci, “You just wanna get the money. Then you figure out afterward.”

To pressure legislators into going along with the union scheme, the group intends to use well-placed lobbying firms that will make the claim that the fictitious company will create jobs, and provide more union laborers who will receive union benefits.  These firms will lobby both Democrat and Republican politicians, and are very tight with Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand.

Just another example of taxpayer money being wasted at the disposal of unions in New York State.

Pre-Filled Voter Registration Cards Going Out to Dogs and Dead People, Voter ID Laws Still Racist

July 14, 2012 at 3:52 pm (Dead Dogs, Dead People, Democrats, Dogs, Fraud, Liberals, Racism, Voter Fraud, Voter ID, Voter Participation Center)

Recently, a liberal group known as the Voter Participation Center has been mailing out voter registration forms to Democrat-leaning groups.  The forms have key information already filled in, but the recipients aren’t exactly the type of individual you’d expect to find at the ballot.

Via the AP (h/t Weasel Zippers):

The voter registration form arrived in the mail last month with some key information already filled in: Rosie Charlston’s name was complete, as was her Seattle address.

Problem is, Rosie was a black lab who died in 1998.

A group called the Voter Participation Center has touted the distribution of some 5 million registration forms in recent weeks, targeting Democratic-leaning voting blocs such as unmarried women, blacks, Latinos and young adults.

But residents and election administrators around the country also have reported a series of bizarre and questionable mailings addressed to animals, dead people, noncitizens and people already registered to vote.

So a liberal organization is trying to get certain voting blocs out to the polls – dogs, dead people, dead dogs, illegal aliens, etc.  Or, more accurately, staunch Democrats.

Here’s the unintentionally funny gem in the story.  Liberals have long been opposed to voter ID laws, citing them as racist.  But election officials in this story aren’t worried about the pre-filled registration cards being submitted illegally, and here’s why…

Several election officials said they believed the voter registration systems were secure enough to catch people who might improperly submit the misdirected documents, since registrants typically have to furnish ID and election managers use databases – such as death records – to see if someone should be disallowed.

If liberals are correct in saying that requesting voter ID is considered racist, but the only way to prevent fraudulent voting activity is through voter ID, then there is only one conclusion to be drawn here.

Liberals believe that only blacks, Hispanics, and other minorities would break the law by voting illegally.

Now that is truly racist…

NY Looks to Restrict Welfare Spending on Alcohol, Strip Clubs

June 20, 2012 at 7:56 am (Benefits, Bill Perkins, Fraud, Integrity Act, Liquor Store, New York, Public Assistance, Strip Clubs, Thomas Libous, Welfare)

A bipartisan bill passed by a 56 – 3 vote in the New York Senate yesterday, seeks to curb spending by welfare recipients on such frivolous items as casino gambling, strip clubs, and lottery tickets, as well as limiting the money’s use for cigarettes and alcohol.

Via the Associated Press:

New York would prohibit welfare recipients from spending their tax-funded benefits on cigarettes, alcohol, gambling, and strip clubs under a bill passed overwhelmingly by the state Senate on Tuesday.

Ten other states have already ruled social services can’t be spent on items from beer to guns.

“I understand that people need food stamps,” said Republican Sen. Thomas Libous, a Broome County Republican. “What I don’t understand is why they need to go to strip clubs, buy lottery tickets, go to a ‘racino’ or buy alcohol.”

The “Public Assistance Integrity Act” would not allow the purchase of alcohol, tobacco, and lottery tickets with welfare payments, and would prohibit ATM withdrawals using the Electronic Benefits Transfer card at certain establishments such as liquor stores and strip clubs.

Sen. Bill Perkins (D-Harlem) voted against the measure saying, “It’s a prejudice, I think, about poor people that we are seeing represented more than any statistical or study of behavior”.

Perhaps it would aid the poor in limiting their use of public assistance on things such as lottery tickets and strip clubs that will only serve to continue their financial distress?

Perkins added, “the bill would penalize a poor mother who simply withdrew money to buy milk if she used an ATM in a banned establishment to do so.”

If you can’t find an ATM other than the one at a place called Shenanigan’s to get your milk, then you’re not really fit to receive monetary benefits of any kind.

IRS Refunding Billions in Tax Dollars to Illegal Aliens – In Mexico

May 3, 2012 at 9:00 am (Dependents, Fraud, Illegal Immigrant, IRS, Mexico, President Obama, Tax Returns)

Let’s drop the i-word….  and add the f-word – Fraud.

Via Doug Ross:

Just when you thought your outrage-meter had pegged the needle, you come across a brand new atrocity courtesy of a government that is completely out-of-control.

…Investigative television reporter Bob Segall of Indianapolis NBC affiliate WTHR TV Channel 13, was contacted by a long-time central Indiana tax preparer, who blew the whistle on a multi-billion dollar tax fraud about which the IRS has done nothing, according to the TV news show video segment that aired on Monday.

“There is not a doubt in my mind there’s huge fraud taking place here,” he said, slowly flipping through the pages of a [heavily redacted] tax return… “We’re talking about a multi-billion dollar fraud scheme here that’s taking place and no one is talking about it,” he said.

The scheme involves illegal immigrants that are filing tax returns, claiming child credits for multiple dependents under their support in “their” U.S. household, and collecting enormous cash refunds–such as one persons tax return that showed income of over $14,000, who collected a cash refund of over $10,300.

A multi-billion dollar fraud scheme designed to benefit illegal aliens?  Now, why would the Obama administration turn a blind eye to such activity?  Oh yea… it’s an election year.

Wisconsin Recall Petitions Show Serious Problems

February 11, 2012 at 1:22 pm (Elections, Fraud, Recall, Scott Walker, True the Vote, Voter Fraud, Wisconsin)

True the Vote has been waging a war on voter fraud across the country, empowering citizens to verify the integrity of the electoral process in their state, or in national races of interest.  They have been concentrating efforts of late in the state of Wisconsin, as Governor Scott Walker is facing recall due to his strong budget-balancing, anti-union monopoly on the economy stance.  It is an ongoing and uphill battle, with the Government Accountability Board of Wisconsin stating that they simply do not have the resources necessary to verify the petition signatures.  Signatures that the Board has concluded would be legal for such names as Mickey Mouse, and Adolf Hitler.

But it’s not just Walker who will be subjected to recall efforts, as other Republican officials have been petitioned as well.

Via True the Vote:

The integrity of Wisconsin elections is on the verge of implosion, as United Wisconsin’s coordinated effort to recall six Wisconsin officials has led to the submission of more than 1,000,000 petition signatures. In an effort to audit these signatures True the Vote is discovering significant errors, including duplicate signatures, incorrect addresses, and the like.

Thus far, the organization has found discrepancies for nearly 9,000 petition signatures.

Please read the press release below and consider volunteering your support.  As we’re learning almost on a daily basis – protecting the integrity of the election process can only be done if the people still care about that process.

Do you?
