Via the UK Telegraph:
The move, which has outraged Catholics, means only the word “parents” would be used in identical marriage ceremonies for all heterosexual and same-sex couples.
The draft law states that “marriage is a union of two people, of different or the same gender”.
It says all references to “mothers and fathers” in the civil code – which enshrines French law – will be swapped for simply “parents”.
The law would also give equal adoption rights to homosexual and heterosexual couples.
Justice Minister Christiane Taubira told France’s Catholic newspaper La Croix: “Who is to say that a heterosexual couple will bring a child up better than a homosexual couple, that they will guarantee the best conditions for the child’s development?”
Last I checked, and my science may yet be a little rusty these days, it doesn’t matter how a child is conceived, you still need a mother and father and their respective cells to create a life. No? So the terminology is still viable.
If a gay couple raises a child, then they are the parents. But that child still has one mother and one father, no matter who raises them.
Finally – Incontrovertible proof that Chick-Fil-A does indeed discriminate against gay customers.
This. Changes. Everything.
Liberals Respond to Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day the Only Way They Know How – Bomb Threats and Bullying
When the pictures of long lines and traffic jams started pouring in at Chick-Fil-A restaurants across the nation, you could feel something big happening.
Apparently, it was record-setting big.
This is really a typical liberal.
First, he’s sooooooo self-righteous.
Second, he wants something for nothing.
Third, adds nothing to the debate except a string of personal attacks.
Police and fire crews closed down the Chick-fil-A on Foxcroft Avenue in Martinsburg for nearly three hours following a bomb threat that was called in just before 1 p.m. today.
The caller mentioned that a “device” had been placed within the restaurant. The building was evacuated, but was deemed safe at about 3:45 p.m. after no bomb or any other type of device was discovered.
According to a release from police, the location of the call was traced and the investigation is following up on leads about the male caller.
The fast-food chain has come under fire recently for comments made by its president, Dan Cathy, to the Baptist Press. According to an Associated Press report, today has been declared “National Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” by supporters of traditional marriage. However, it is unknown at this time if the threat against the local restaurant is related.
If they can’t shut down your right to free speech and the right to express an opposing view point through boycotts, the left will always turn to more menacing threats. Harassment or bomb threats.
So tolerant. So progressive.
Update: Reader RalphyBoy pointed out that the ‘free water’ freedom fighter in the video above pulled his clip from YouTube. Fortunately, others had grabbed it before he could erase it from the internet. The clip can still be viewed above.
Surely if you saw a media report regarding people who oppose the President’s support for gay marriage, you would see white male racist Republicans. For that is the only demographic which would dare oppose our first gay, African-American president. Only outdated conservatives could still hold on to the belief that marriage should consist of one man and one woman. Right?
The Coalition of African American Pastors (CAAP) announced at the National Press Club on Tuesday that the grassroots group – comprised of the more than 3,000 members – is a launching a national campaign to support marriage between one man and one woman and to oppose the Obama administration’s efforts to advance same-sex marriage.
“The time has come for a broad-based assault against the power that be that wants to change our culture to one of men marrying men and women marrying women,” CAAP President William Owens said at the press conference, held to announce the Marriage Mandate campaign, which includes a petition seeking 100,000 signatures pledging support for traditional marriage.
“Mr. President, I’m not going to stand with you, and there are thousands of others across this country that are not going to stand with you with this foolishness,” Owens said.
In a press release announcing the campaign, Owens encouraged black pastors and the black community to “withdraw their support for [Obama].”
Whoa… Isn’t this the exact same kind of speech that a Chicago councilman referred to as “hate speech“?
Who knew a coalition of black pastors could hold such hatred for a black President? After all, any and all opposition to Obama has to be based on skin color, and not his policies. That’s what we’ve been told for four years now.
One of the pastors suggested that Obama has been ignoring the black community “because he feels that he has us in his pocket.” While this group and those they represent make a good point, they will continue to be taken for granted so long as they vote for Obama at a 90% clip, despite strong opposition to gay marriage and despite an economically disastrous 14.4% unemployment rate.
Voting for him based on skin color is just as bad as voting against him based on skin color.
Whether this has an effect on the vote or not is not the issue. The important thing about Rev. Owens is his attack on this President are obviously racially motivated and is one more example of how white people are uncomfortable with the color of Barack Obama’s skin. True the Reverend is also a person of color, but I am sure Cokie Roberts would say that George W. Bush did a Vulcan mind meld on the poor pastor and made him act racist.
“I want to thank someone who put so much work into this event, Terry Bean,” President Obama said as the crowd began to cheer. “Give Terry a big round of applause.”
Terry Bean is, according to the New York Post, a “gay-porn kingpin.”
“ONE of the ‘bundlers’ who has raised $50,000 to $100,000 for the Barack Obama presidential campaign is Terrence Bean, who once controlled the biggest producer of gay porn in America,” the Post reported in 2008, during the president’s first run the office. “Bean, the first gay on Sen. Obama’s National Finance Committee, is the sole trustee of the Charles M. Holmes Foundation, which owned Falcon Studios, Jock Studios and Mustang Studios, the producers of about $10 million worth of all-male pornography a year.”
The New York Post reported in 2008 that Oregon Governor Ted Kulongowski returned a $15,000 donation from a company associated with Bean in an effort to avoid the “taint” of the porn connection.
The President however, is clearly not concerned about any ‘taint’. He is shameless when it comes to campaign contributions, having exploited gay issues in the past for his own personal gain. Within a week of announcing his gay marriage flip-flop for example, Obama was hawking ‘My Two Dads‘ onesies on his campaign wesbite.
Pandering is one thing. Should the President of the United States really be courting the campaign prowess of a ‘gay porn kingpin’? Is this not beneath the office?
Support for President Obama among African-American voters is plummeting in North Carolina, likely a result of his ‘evolution’ from opposing gay marriage, to becoming the nation’s first gay President.
North Carolina, considered a crucial enough swing state for the Democrat party to hold their convention there, is leaning Romney right now, 48 to 46 percent according to a new poll.
But the stunning information coming out of this poll is that Obama only leads the African-American vote by a clip of 76 to 20 percent. Still a huge difference sure, but in 2008 Obama beat McCain for the African-American vote by a 95 to 5 percent margin. Just last month, Obama led 87 to 11 percent, so clearly blacks are abandoning Obama like the sinking Titanic his campaign has become.
To add to the misery expressed in this poll, it is not a conservative think tank poll, nor even a supposedly objective media poll – it is from the Democrat leaning Public Policy Polling.
From Business Insider:
President Barack Obama is rapidly losing support among African-American voters in North Carolina, a new poll out today from the Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling shows.
The poll finds that Mitt Romney would get 20 percent of the African-American vote if the election were held today, compared with 76 percent for Obama. Overall, Romney has a 48 percent to 46 percent lead on Obama in the crucial swing state.
… All of Obama’s numbers with African-Americans are sliding. His approval rating is down from 86 percent to 77 percent. Romney’s favorability, meanwhile, has doubled from 9 percent to 18 percent.
… (Jim) Williams (polling analyst) added the obvious: If the results keep turning up like this, it would be “very bad news for him.”
Bad news for Obama = Good news for America.
Because with the recent support for same-sex marriage from the first gay President, there is a huge demand for gay superhero comic characters … or something.
The New York Post writes:
One of DC Comics oldest heroes is super-coming out.
The original Green Lantern – a DC Comics mainstay for the past 70 years – will be revealed to be a gay man in next week’s issue of “Earth 2.”
Alan Scott – formerly a married father of two who first appeared in 1940 – tips readers off to his sexuality early on in the comic when he gives his boyfriend a welcome home kiss.

This announcement comes on the heels of one of Marvel’s characters recently proposing to his boyfriend, but since nobody had ever heard of him, there wasn’t much buzz.
Being over the age of four, I don’t really follow comic books much, but aren’t you geeks a little miffed that storylines are being dictated by publicity stunts? Or do you just suck it up and move on to the next game of Dungeons & Dragons?
If President Obama was under the impression that his gay marriage flip-flop-flap was a game changer, readers of the Mental Recession would beg to differ. Our recent poll seems to indicate that people simply don’t care about this social issue, and rank it well below other major problems facing our country today.
Is gay marriage an important issue in the 2012 election?
- Extremely Important – 30%
- Don’t care – 67%
- Undecided – 2%
Seriously, are there any leftists out there that readily understand irony?
Boxing champ Manny Pacquiao recently voiced his support for marriage as an institution between one man and one woman. In an interview with the Conservative Examiner, Pacquiao had the following to say:
“God’s words first … obey God’s law first before considering the laws of man.”
“God only expects man and woman to be together and to be legally married, only if they so are in love with each other.”
Not surprising, considering over 80% of the population identifies as Catholic in Pacquiao’s home country, the Philippines.
So how did the owner of a popular LA mall respond to those remarks? By banning the boxing legend – for intolerance.
The “tolerant” same-sex marriage left has struck again – this time, at the popular hangout The Grove, in Los Angeles. The owner of The Grove, Rick Caruso, tweeted that iconic boxing great and Philippines Congressman Manny Pacquiao would not be allowed “on the premises” thanks to Pacquiao’s outspoken opposition to same-sex marriage. “Boxer Manny Pacquiao is not welcome @TheGroveLA,” he tweeted. “@TheGroveLA is a gathering place for all Angelenos, not a place for intolerance.” Pacquiao was supposed to do an interview today with “Extra” at The Grove.
That now earns him a ban from a public area in Los Angeles.
So Caruso’s response to alleged intolerance is to promote blatant intolerance?
Now picture this had Pacquiao been a supporter of same sex marriage, who was subsequently banned by a conservative business owner. Perez Hilton, Dan Savage, and the like would be protesting and demanding the mall be shuttered, and the media would be hammering the owner for intolerance, labeling him a right-wing bigot.
Liberals want people to believe they support free speech and welcome all groups into their tent equally. But that only applies if you agree with their agenda whole-heartedly.
Intolerance, thy name is liberal.
