Senator John Cornyn, in a statement today, enthuasically backed Wendy Long.

“Wendy Long would make an outstanding addition to the U.S. Senate, and I believe she is the perfect candidate to break the Democrat stranglehold on New York. I endorse her with enthusiasm and believe with her platform of Jobs, Freedom, and Accountability she can win this race,” said Cornyn.

Cornyn is the Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and was named one of the “most conservative congressmen” by the National Journal in 2010.

Cornyn joins former Governor George Pataki in endorsing Long in her bid to unseat liberal Kirsten Gillibrand.

Pataki stated, “We need to send Wendy Long to Washington to cast the deciding vote to repeal Obamacare, end our dangerous addiction to borrowing and do what the Senate has failed to do for over three-years: finally pass a budget.”

Added Pataki, “In Kirsten Gillibrand and Wendy Long, New Yorkers have a clear choice between an ultra liberal agenda that favors higher taxes and government intervention versus a belief in limited government that values individual freedom and private sector initiative.”

Pataki Endorses Wendy Long for United States Senate

August 9, 2012 at 7:00 am (George Pataki, Kirsten Gillibrand, Liberal, New York, Obamacare, United States Senate, Wendy Long)

Former New York Governor George E. Pataki today enthusiastically endorsed Wendy Long for the United States Senate.

The three-term Governor said, “We need to send Wendy Long to Washington to cast the deciding vote to repeal Obamacare, end our dangerousaddiction to borrowing and do what the Senate has failed to do for over three-years: finally pass a budget.”

Added Pataki, “In Kirsten Gillibrand and Wendy Long, New Yorkers have a clear choice between an ultra liberal agenda that favors higher taxes and government intervention versus a belief in limited government that values individual freedom and private sector initiative.”

Wendy Long said, “I am honored to have Governor Pataki’s endorsement – he proved that Republican-conservative policies work. Under his leadership, more than one million New Yorkers got off the welfare rolls, and crime was reduced so that New York was transformed from one of the most dangerous to one of the safest states in America, George Pataki reversed the liberal slide in New York, as Senator I will reverse it in Washington.”

Pataki concluded, “It’s the old saying, ‘be careful what you wish for,’ Senator Gillibrand keeps saying she wants more women in politics – now let’s see if she wants to debate them too.”

Pataki: Obama Living in a ‘Bizzaro World’

February 13, 2012 at 4:26 pm (Bizzaro, Budget, Debt, Deficit, George Pataki, New York, President Obama)

He’s right, but the Republicans are offering no Superman…

Via Politics on the Hudson:

Former Gov. George Pataki took another swipe at President Barack Obama today, saying he is living in a “Bizzarro World” that isn’t dealing with the country’s debt…

Here’s Pataki’s statement:

“The Obama administration continues to govern in its own Bizarro World that fails to recognize the devastating impact of the debt crisis we face. Today’s election year budget with another staggering trillion dollar plus deficit is a clear sign that the Obama administration has given up on even the facade of fiscal restraint and is content to bankrupt America in a cynical bid to save his political career. Jack Lew is right about one thing, the time for austerity is not today, it was last week and last year. It’s not halftime in the debt crisis we’re in sudden death overtime and the clock is ticking down on our ability to effectively address this issue. President Obama must get real and revive the recommendations of the Simpson Bowles Commission.”
