The Albany Times Union is reporting on Occupy Wall Street protester Kaylee Dedrick, and her attempt at a money grab via lawsuit against the NYPD.
Turns out she’s also a teacher’s assistant in the area:
A teacher’s assistant from North Greenbush who was pepper sprayed in last year’s Occupy Wall Street protests filed a federal civil rights lawsuit Monday against New York City and several police officers, her attorney said.
Kaylee Dedrick, 25, alleges that she was peacefully protesting when Deputy Inspector Anthony Bologna pepper sprayed her in the face from a distance of less than two feet temporarily blinding her and leaving her screaming in pain.
As is typical with the OWS protesters, Dedrick portrays herself as a harmless bystander who did not warrant the treatment she received. But this simply isn’t the case.
Dedrick, who I might remind you is a teacher’s assistant in the North Greenbush school system, was drawing the ire of police prior to the pepper spray incident, when she decided to protest topless on the streets of New York City (video below the fold).
The Times Union report also tries to provide a positive light for Dedrick and the new found love which sprang from the incident.
Dedrick began a relationship with the civilian medic who treated her and the couple is expecting the birth of a daughter in two weeks, Kuby said.
Of course, a quick Google search shows that the relationship between Dedrick and Robert Grodt is nothing but a sham.

Oh did we mention, Dedrick is a teacher’s assistant?
Muslim Files Discrimination Lawsuit Against NYPD, Claim They Won’t Hire Him Because He Discriminates Against Gays, Which is Discriminatory
Got all that right?
In a lawsuit recently filed against the New York Police Department, a man only identified as “Farhan Doe”, claims it is discriminatory for him not to be considered for hiring on the force just because he openly discriminates against homosexuals.
On an application for the job, Doe responded in the affirmative to the following question:
“Do you believe that homosexuals should be locked up?”
The fascinating part here is that Doe currently works as an auxiliary cop in Brooklyn. Perhaps they should be reviewing his application for signs of trouble now?
The New York Post reports that Doe magically changed his mind the following year when he re-applied, and was startled to learn that the Department wasn’t buying it (emphasis mine).
“They pro forma denied him again — saying he couldn’t possibly be a police officer,” the lawyer said. “The First Amendment is very clear, saying that you can’t discriminate against someone because they have a view you do not like,” he said.
While the NYPD could take action if he acted out in an anti-gay manner, they can’t bar Doe from the force for anti-gay thoughts, the lawyer said.
And yet, Doe would like to lock up gays because they have a view he does not like.
First, this sounds like he intentionally went back to apply the following year knowing full-well he’d be denied, but also knowing full-well his intent to file suit.
Second, it will be interesting to see if CAIR or the ACLU jumps aboard this lawsuit. Imagine the outrage had the NYPD hired someone who answered yes to the above question if the word ‘homosexuals’ was replaced by ‘Muslims’.
An unprecedented number of Catholic organizations have launched lawsuits at the Obama administration for his healthcare plan’s mandated contraception provision – return fire in the President’s War on Religion. You wouldn’t know that these legal actions are historic in nature, based on the media blackout regarding the matter.
As LifeNews reports, there are 60 million Catholics in the U.S. who will comprise a major faction of the swing vote this coming election. So their response to the mandated contraception provision is indeed newsworthy. This is how the media has chosen to cover it however:
– ABC World News – ZERO seconds of coverage. But, last night there was time for a full report on sleep apnea and Katie Couric discussing how she met Queen Elizabeth; how she wore a peach coat and “a lovely peach hat.”
– NBC Nightly News – ZERO seconds of coverage. But last night there was time to squeeze in a story on a new computer app that shows America’s eating habits, “graphic evidence” of how we eat badly late at night.
– CBS Evening News – a brief 19 seconds of coverage on the evening the lawsuit became public. ZERO coverage last night. But there was time in the broadcast for a Cincinnati Reds baseball fan lucky enough to catch two home runs in left field.
“The intentional, deafening silence continues,” stated Brent Bozell, MRC President, “and we are not the only ones concerned. This deliberate censorship must come to an end.”
Tim Graham of the Media Research Center appeared on Your World With Neil Cavuto yesterday and explained quite succinctly why the media has remained silent.
Well, the old story is they don’t need to have a conspiracy, just a consensus. This is a group of people who all want Obama to be reelected, and they’re going to simply say ‘Look, this whole Catholic lawsuit just seems like a Republican publicity stunt to us, and we’re not gonna touch it.’ And look, this is – these are people who represent 60 million American Catholics. That’s a substantial voting bloc. They deserve more respect than the complete diss these networks have given the American Catholic church.
Will the Old Media stop shielding the Obama administration? Ever?
