When he’s not sucking up to First Lady Michelle Obama by paving over potholes in advance of her arrival, he apparently is busy sucking up to illegal immigrants – just like his muse, President Obama.
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick is pushing a plan that would allow illegal immigrants in his state to be awarded the tuition rate at colleges typically granted to actual state residents – and it’s based on the President’s own pro-amnesty angle.
Via the New York Times:
Thousands of illegal immigrants living in Massachusetts can qualify for state resident tuition rates at state colleges, under a policy laid out on Monday by Gov. Deval Patrick — another shift in the fast-changing mosaic of states’ policies toward that population.
The shift builds on the Obama administration policy, adopted in June, that the federal government will not seek to deport most young immigrants who, as children, were either brought to the United States illegally or kept here illegally. The Massachusetts policy applies to that same group.
Notice how the Times article leaves the word ‘illegal’ out of their headline, despite its relevance to the article information.
The savings being afforded the illegal immigrants is substantial, with in-state residents at one Massachusetts college being charged $13,230, while out of state residents pay nearly double.
Essentially, people having entered the country (let alone the state) illegally can now attain tuition rates that actual American citizens from outside of Massachusetts would not be privy to.
There’s a joke in here somewhere, I just know it. But this report doesn’t put me in a jovial mood.

New York and Massachusetts are administering food stamps to 2,000 dead people, according to Sen. Tom Coburn’s (R-Okla.) catalog of government waste.
The 2012 Waste Book, released earlier this week, documents $4.5 billion in waste in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), commonly known as food stamps.
Among his findings, Coburn said that, “The USDA Inspector General found roughly 2,000 dead people are still receiving food stamps in New York and Massachusetts combined.”
“Additionally, its investigation revealed 7,236 people in these states are receiving duplicate benefits, while 286 are on state lists that should exclude them from receiving food stamps,” the report said, amounting to $1.4 million in unnecessary payments each month, or $147.03 for each recipient, dead or alive.
Read more about the report to also learn how food stamp recipients are qualifying by having the cost of marijuana deducted from their income. Seriously.
Also, had to share this joke from one of the commenters.
I took my dog down to the welfare office to sign him up for Food Stamps. The lady said he couldnt get food stamps “cause he is a dog”.
I told her he qualifies for the following reasons (1) He doesn’t work, just lies around the house all day. (2) He doesn’t know who his daddy is. (3) He likes anybody that feeds him. She checked her book, he gets his stamps next Monday and his Democrat voter registration pack came in today.
Massachusetts Governor Requests Pot Holes Filled In Preparation For Michelle Obama Fundraising Visit
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick has been dubbed ‘Mr. Smooth’ by the Boston Herald, due to his recent request that a road expected to be traveled by Michelle Obama next month, have pot holes filled in to provide the First Lady with a smooth ride.
The governor’s office personally lobbied for the repairs, calling town officials to see if they could fill in what most witnesses refer to as minor pot holes. As luck would have it, the road also happens to be in close proximity to Governor Patrick’s home.
Mrs. Obama will be in town on August 3rd for a $20,000/seat soiree for the Obama Victory Fund.
One visiting lawyer called the act a courtesy, citing a tragic scenario in which the First Lady could be “talking on her cell phone and hitting a pothole”.
Town officials say it’s not a big deal, setting the cost of a couple of tons of blacktop at a couple of hundred dollars. This of course, doesn’t take into account the labor that would have to be paid to government workers repairing the roads. Probably not much time, but hourly work nonetheless.
Not to mention, multiple witnesses have said the road appears to be in good shape, with some neighbors even stating that the road was resurfaced just last month.
It’s good to be queen…
The Boston Globe is reporting on a Massachusetts solar company that received state loans under Governor Romney, and is now filing for bankruptcy. The Globe insists that this news means that Romney’s attacks on the President’s failed Solyndra investment have backfired, and are implying that it opens up the Republican presidential contender up to charges of hypocrisy.
A Lowell-based solar technology company that received $1.5 million in state loans when Mitt Romney was governor has filed for bankruptcy, opening the presumptive Republican presidential nominee to charges of hypocrisy.
Konarka Technologies disclosed Friday that it had filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection and would fire its 80-member staff and liquidate its assets.
Romney has chided President Obama for investing $535 million in a different solar company that failed, and has insisted governments should not pick winners and losers in the private sector. He held a press conference at the Fremont, Calif., headquarters of that company, Solyndra, last Thursday, saying, “Free enterprise to the president means taking money from the taxpayers and giving it freely to his friends.’
The Washington Post has also chimed in, stating that this incident leaves him “vulnerable to criticism”.
What the media isn’t reporting on is some very obvious differences between the two solar ventures.
- Despite using the above quote about giving taxpayer money to his friends, the Globe fails to demonstrate any parallel with Romney, citing no evidence of Romney’s associations with Konarka. Whereas Solyndra has the George Kaiser/Obama direct relationship.
- The difference between the loans offered the two companies is vast. The $1.5 million in state loans offered Konarka represents less than 0.3% of the $535 million loan granted to Solyndra.
- Konarka paid back their loan according to CEO Howard Berke, while taxpayers will not be seeing their Solyndra investment returned anytime soon.
- Solyndra’s demise happened just over two years after receiving their hefty helping of government loans, while still under Obama’s term as President of the United States. Konarka’s bankruptcy is now being filed nearly a decade after they received their state money, and a full five years after Romney last occupied the Governor’s office in Massachusetts.
On Saturday, Massachusetts delegates met in their state’s Democrat party convention, and announced a requirement for attendance that can only be described as an active attempt to suppress minorities.
The statement below may come as a shock to our more sensitive readers, and we urge those with weaker stomachs to skip below to avoid a nauseating reaction.
If you are prepared for the vile racism that is to follow, please proceed…
Page 14 of the Delegate’s Guide to the Massachusetts Democrat Convention reads, and we quote:
We apologize to our readers for having to read such strong racially charged language. In the interest of accuracy however, the statement needed to be printed in its entirety.
That said, the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) and Eric Holder, the most vociferous of the groups that oppose photo identification on the grounds that it racially discriminates, will certainly take umbrage to such a requirement.
Earlier this year the CBC announced on the house floor that “voter ID laws popping up around the country are aimed at dissuading minority voters from voting”. If that is the case, then the Democrats are clearly trying to dissuade minorities from attending their convention.
Just this past week, Holder backed up the charges of photo ID requirements as racist.
On Wednesday, Holder told a gathering of the Congressional Black Caucus that “both overt and subtle forms of discrimination remain all too common and have not yet been relegated to the pages of history.”
“If a state passes a new voting law and meets its burden of showing that the law is not discriminatory, we will follow the law and will approve that change. … When a jurisdiction fails to meet its burden in proving that a voting change will not have a racially discriminatory effect, we will object, as we have in 15 different cases.”
Critics complain that Holder is taking an unabashedly, and unethically, political stance against voter ID laws.
Will Holder object in this case? With his having drawn a line in the sand, it is shocking to see his own party resort to such an ‘overt form of discrimination’.
