Muslims Protest ‘Speech That Hurts’ – Yes, In the Same City Where Muslims Were Filmed Violently Assaulting Christians
The question here is which hurts more – words, or violent actions? The old sticks and stones argument…
Arab-American News publisher Osama Siblani rallied Muslim activists in Dearborn, Michigan yesterday, in an attempt to drum up support for ‘blasphemy laws’ that would fundamentally destroy the right of free speech in our country. The group claims that the laws are necessary so as not to hurt the “religious feelings of Muslims”.
Not coincidentally, the group is clearly taking the lead of the Obama administration by calling for these laws in response to an anti-Muslim video – a video that only the administration has focused on, and a video we now know had absolutely nothing to do with the violence currently sweeping the Middle East.
In fact, it is so apparent that this group is channeling the Obama administration, that they are quoting the now famous apology issued by the U.S. Embassy in Egypt, in which they too denounced ‘hurt(ing) the religious beliefs of others’.
Via the Michigan View:
Led by a newspaper publisher, Muslim activists will call for putting limits on American free speech at a Dearborn rally this evening. You can’t make this stuff up.
Nearly a decade after Dearborn’s streets celebrated America for bringing down Saddam Hussein and opening a door to democracy in the Mideast, the same city will be the epicenter today of calls to squelch free speech. Protesting the film, “Innocence of Muslims,” that has sparked protests in the Mideast, rally organizer Tarek Baydoun says that so-called blasphemy laws are necessary to prevent speech that hurts the “the religious feelings of Muslims.”
This assault on the First Amendment in the name of the prophet Mohammed is a sad day in America – and confirms fears that Muslim-American activists do not understand the fundamental separation of church and state in the American Constitution.
“There is a need for deterrent legal measures against those individuals or groups that want to damage relations between people, spread hate and incite violence,” said Arab-American News publisher Osama Siblani, a self-proclaimed “moderate” who is apparently oblivious to how gutting the First Amendment would affect his own business.
It is always astounding how people who protest alleged hate speech can’t ever seem to grasp the fact that the violence is always a more abhorrent action than the speech itself. They do not condemn protesters who burn our embassies. They do not rally against those who murder our diplomats. They simply and repeatedly condemn free speech.
It is particularly ironic in this case, since a group of Muslims, also from Dearborn, Michigan, were filmed violently throwing bottles, stones, and anything else they could find at Christians this past summer.
Jihad Watch reports:
During the 2012 Arab International Festival held this past June in Dearborn, Michigan, a group of Christian evangelists were pelted with stones, bottles, and debris by Muslim youths while deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office stood idly by, allowing the criminal assault to take place. Many of the Christians were bloodied by the attack. When Ruben Israel, the leader of the Christian group, asked the law enforcement officers present to step in and enforce the criminal law so that the Christians could exercise their right to freedom of speech, Israel was given the option of either leaving the festival or facing arrest….

Libyan President: U.S. Assertions that Attacks Were Spontaneous Reaction to a Film Are ‘Unfounded and Preposterous’
Honestly, is there anyone in America who believes the attacks in Libya, Cairo, and throughout the Arab world have anything to do with this anti-Mohammad film?
Yet the Obama administration is still trying to pass it off as fact.
First Press Secretary Jay Carney, despite all of the evidence to the contrary, lies about it, and then Ambassador to the U.N., Susan Rice, swears to it.
From Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace:
WALLACE: This week, there have been anti-American protests in two dozen countries across the Islamic world. The white house says it has nothing to do with the president’s policies. Let’s watch.”
JAY CARNEY: This is not a case of protests directed at the United States writ large or at U.S. policy. This is in response to a video that is offensive.”
WALLACE: “You don’t really believe that?”
AMBASSADOR RICE: “Chris, absolutely I believe that, because in fact, it is the case. We have had the evolution of the Arab Spring over the last many months but what sparked the recent violence was the airing on the internet of a very hateful very offensive, very hateful video that has offended many people around the world. Now, our strong view is that there is no excuse for violence. It is reprehensible and never justified but in fact there have been those in various parts of the world who have reacted with violence. Their governments have increasingly and effectively responded and protected our facilities and condemned the violence and this outrageous response to what is an offensive video. There is no question what we have seen in the past with satanic verses and the cartoon of the prophet Muhammad there have been such things that have sparked outrage and anger and this has been the proximate cause of what we’ve seen.”
I’d like to share this image (via Mike Adams) which indicates why this is a preposterous assertion.
President Barack Obama jets off to campaign events Monday in the critical swing state of Ohio, even as Libyan officials and locals have shredded his defensive claim that a spontaneous protest against a Californian’s anti-Islam video caused the Sept. 11 killing of four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador.
“The idea that this criminal and cowardly act was a spontaneous protest that just spun out of control is completely unfounded and preposterous,” Libyan President Mohammed el-Megarif told the liberal National Public Radio network.
Instead, the killing was a military-style attack, he said.
The attacks were pre-meditated, designed to be carried out on the anniversary of 9/11. You simply can’t scale embassy walls or American territory without somebody on the inside letting you in. That part of the plan seems to be supported by one of the diplomats who was killed having stated that the so-called ‘Libyan police’ were caught taking suspicious pictures the night before.
The American people have the evidence in front of them, and the Obama administration is trying to tell them ‘no, no, what you’re seeing isn’t actually real’.
Mark Steyn is right – “Every American should be ashamed of their President”.
The video below, courtesy of United West, is stunning…
It appears as though a group of Christians staged a protest outside the 2012 Dearborn Arab Festival, and that protest turned ugly. Those holding signs are seen being physically assaulted with bottles, eggs, stones, crates and several other objects. The police, rather than diffusing the situation, turned the other way as things escalated.
The video is over 22 minutes long, and a majority of the swearing and violence seems to come from younger American Muslims. While the video is shorter, the editors claim the assault took roughly 30 minutes before the police stepped in – to exchange words with the Christian group. After the exchange, the hostile group continued their assault.
After the second barrage, the police instruct the Christian group to leave despite their assertion that they have a right to be there.
First Amendment anyone? What is the police and media reaction if this were a group of Occupiers being assaulted?
If this extremely disturbing video does not result in a Federal investigation into the human rights violations of those Christians physically attacked at the 2012 Dearborn Arab Festival then we are watching the beginning of a new America, a MUSLIM AMERICA.
In this new America, a MUSLIM AMERICA, shariah-compliant Muslims have succeeded in striking fear into the hearts of the infidels. In the case of the Dearborn Arab Festival, you will see that the infidels are NOT the few, brave Christians who withstood the physical attacks by the blood-thirsty Muslims, but the fearful are those who have taken an oath to protect Americans. The fearful, are the Dearborn Sheriff and Police. Sadly, you will see the Police fearful of confronting the criminals and enforcing the law as they stand by watching “Muslims Gone Wild,” attack the helpless Christians.
The United West predicts that success of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt combined with the mounting fury of the “Arab Spring,” coupled with the support of President Obama will result in an expansive, “strong-horse” onslaught of Muslim physical aggression, similar to this Dearborn disaster, all across the new, MUSLIM AMERICA.
And herein lies the reason London is slowly turning into Londonistan…

Atlas Shrugs adds the details:
Once again, devout Muslims us whose side they are on in the war on the West. Lord Nazir Ahmed has announced a reward for the captor of US President Barack Obama and his predecessor George W Bush…
Atlas readers know this lord of the Nazis well. He is the jihadi who threatened the House of Lords with protests and demonstrations if they did not cancel their invitation to Geert Wilders to screen FITNA. Lord of the nazis called for the arrest of British Jews who fought in the IDF.
A Labour peer was suspended last night after allegedly claiming he would put up a £10million bounty for the capture of Barack Obama.Lord Ahmed of Rotherham is reported to have made the gesture after the U.S. announced a $10million bounty for Hafiz Muhammed Saeed, whom it blames for orchestrating the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. He is said to have described the bounty on Mr Saeed, who founded banned militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), as an ‘insult to all Muslims’.
How long until this suspension is decried as Islamophobic?
Last week, the Times Union reported on a situation which is making news nationwide – New York Police Department surveillance of Muslim students on college campuses, including the State University of Albany.
The article is dripping with sarcasm aimed directly at the police force, with little or no attempt at delving deeper into the reasoning behind the surveillance.
Leave it to the Times Union to go out of their way to interject opinion into a news article, while equally managing to keep other important facts out of their report on the NYPD monitoring of the Muslim Students Association (MSA) at SUNY Albany.
Did it ever occur to the Union that there might possibly be a history with the MSA that would prompt investigators to keep an eye on them?
MSA has gained legitimacy on American campuses as a benevolent collegiate faith club; however, under this moderate veneer MSA advances a different agenda among impressionable college students. Through conferences and events, publications, websites and other activities, MSA has disseminated and promoted militant Islamic ideologies on college and university campuses throughout North America.
Now, that isn’t to say the Times Union didn’t actually see neutral postings on the SUNY Albany MSA website, but it is to say there is another side to the story. Feel free to go with a balanced approach.
The newspaper has yet to indicate in any of their stories that the normally spineless Mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, has defended the actions taken by the NYPD. Via Global Post:
Bloomberg argued it is “legal,” “appropriate” and “constitutional” for police to monitor Muslim communities since they are potential places where terrorists might hide out while they prepare attacks against American citizens, the AP reported.
Of course, the Times Union did the same exact thing last year, when they ran a story about a Muslim summer camp being built in the Adirondacks. The camp was being considered by a group known as the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA). When I contacted the newspaper about the lack of information as well as the flat-out false information being printed regarding the ICNA, an editor responded that the story was evolving and would change over time. It never did. They never corrected it.
Interestingly enough, the MSA and ICNA do have a connection. Both have ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, both conduct events throughout the nation in conjunction with each other, and both operate under the umbrella of the American Muslim Taskforce on Civil Rights and Elections (AMT), a coalition of 11 major Islamic organizations.
Think neither of these organizations should be monitored or looked at more closely? Here is my report last year regarding the ICNA:
One of the largest Muslim organizations in North America is considering plans to build a summer camp on 114 acres of land in the Adirondacks. Via the Albany Times Union:
“The Islamic Circle of North America, a Muslim advocacy group based in New York City, hopes to raise money to develop a camp for children and families of all religions on land donated to it last year.”
The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), based in Queens, New York, is not devoid of controversy in a history that spans over 40 years, yet there is scant mention of these controversies by the media. The Times Union article states that, “U.S. law enforcement agencies have investigated, but never prosecuted, ICNA for terrorist connections.” And there is coverage of a fundraiser involving speakers having made anti-American statements in the past, which is quickly justified by saying, “the meeting raised money for homeless women.”
But the ICNA has so much more to offer in the way of newsworthiness, including an event involving radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, as well as a link to the presently relevant Muslim Brotherhood.
- In the book, American Jihad, author Steven Emerson claims that the ICNA has praised terror attacks in the past, is allied with militant fundamentalist movements, and supports the imposition of sharia law.
- The same book mentions a statement by Senator Mitch McConnell in 1996 that the group is allied with the Islamic Association for Palestine in North America, which has ties to the terrorist organization, Hamas.
- The ICNA has demonstrated deep ties to the fundamentalist Pakistani political party, Jamaat-e-Islami, whose main objective is the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law.
- Ran a series of Muslim subway ads in 2008, promoted by a Brooklyn imam whom federal officials had linked to a plot to blow up city landmarks.
- Have expressed great reverence for such outstanding individuals as the Ayatollah Khomeini and Mahmoud Ahmadenijad, a man famous for calling the holocaust a ‘myth’, and stating that ‘Israel must be wiped off the map.’Additionally, radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki was asked to speak at a convention sponsored jointly by the ICNA and the Muslim American Society (MAS) in July of 2002. Awlaki has been connected with three of the 9/11 hijackers, and has since praised the murderous rampage by the Fort Hood shooter that took 14 lives, and the failed attempt by the Christmas Day bomber to kill 278 innocent people. What’s more, Awlaki spoke alongside Siraj Wahhaj, an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
It should be noted that the ICNA released a statement denouncing Awlaki’s views – nearly eight years later – but noting that at the time of his appearance, he had not been accused of any extremist ties, and that he had only started making radical lectures after being detained in 2007.
This is, of course, a flat-out falsehood. In fact, here’s a bit of what was already known regarding Awlaki at the time of his ICNA appearance:
- In 1996, he encouraged a student at his mosque to fight jihad, prompting an elder to confront him, eventually leading to his departure.
- In 1998 and 1999, served as Vice President of a charity founded by Abdul Majeed al-Zindani, an associate of Osama bin Laden and a man designated by the U.S. government as a ‘Specially Designated Global Terrorist’.
- The F.B.I. first took notice of Awlaki in 1999 based on his relationship with militants and his role in running a ‘front organization to funnel money to terrorists’.
- The 9/11 Commission had shown that F.B.I. investigators were divided over Awlaki’s involvement in the terrorist attacks, but had expressed concern over his role as spiritual advisor to two of the hijackers, with one detective saying he believed Awlaki ‘was at the center of the 9/11 story’.But if you’re looking for a current piece of news regarding the ICNA, then look no further than Egypt. Considered to be the North American branch of the aforementioned Jamaat-e-Islami, the ICNA also maintains close ties to international groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood has objectives far different than the simple establishment of a camp for various religions. Their stated motto:
Allah is our objective; the Prophet is our leader; the Quran is our law; Jihad is our way; dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.
Joe Kaufman, in Front Page Magazine wrote:
“When tens of thousands of Iranian violence-driven malcontents scream “Death to America” in chorus, we Americans have a right to know who here is screaming with them. And once we find out who, law enforcement and intelligence needs to investigate and take appropriate action, so that inappropriate action is not taken upon us.”
Or, in the case of today’s media, we can simply watch them build a summer camp without so much as a cursory look at who’s behind the project.
Nothing to see here…
Let the Times Union know that it isn’t their job as journalists to interject opinion into their reporting. But it is their job to report all of the facts.
