Reporter Lara Logan: Administration Lying About Taming the Taliban

October 8, 2012 at 2:13 pm (Afghanistan, Al Qaeda, Apologists, CBS, Chris Stevens, Lara Logan, Libya, Obama Administration, Taliban, Terrorists, War on Terror)

CBS reporter Lara Logan stepped out of the role of journalist, and into the role of American citizen screaming about her government’s lies regarding the enemy her country faces – the Taliban.

From the Chicago Sun-Times:

“I chose this subject because, one, I can’t stand, that there is a major lie being propagated . . .” Logan declared in her native South African accent.

The lie is that America’s military might has tamed the Taliban.

“There is this narrative coming out of Washington for the last two years,” Logan said. It is driven in part by “Taliban apologists,” who claim “they are just the poor moderate, gentler, kinder Taliban,” she added sarcastically. “It’s such nonsense!”

Logan then goes on to rip what she calls “Taliban apologists” in Washington who have tried to falsely portray the enemy as ‘kinder’ and ‘gentler’.

“It’s such nonsense,” she added.

Logan believes the false narrative is an attempt by the administration to get America out of the longest war, but that it only provides a false sense that the perils of the enemy are in the past.

It’s a rather frightening account from somebody in the know.

Logan concludes, “Our enemies are writing the story, and there’s no happy ending for us.”

Report: Despite Multiple Pleas From Officials, Obama Administration Pulled 34 Security Personnel From Libya Prior to Attack

October 8, 2012 at 10:52 am (Andy Wood, Benghazi, Chris Stevens, Libya, Obama Administration, State Department)

An ex-U.S. security team leader tells CBS News that he and other officials made it clear to the Obama administration that they “needed more, not less” security staff on the ground in Libya prior to the attacks that would kill Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other diplomats.

Despite those pleas, and the dozen or so documented security threats facing the consulate in Benghazi prior to September 11th, the administration pulled 34 security members from the site over the preceding six month period.

Via CBS News:

The former head of a Special Forces “Site Security Team” in Libya tells CBS News that in spite of multiple pleas from himself and other U.S. security officials on the ground for “more, not less” security personnel, the State Department removed as many as 34 people from the country in the six months before a terrorist attack in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others.

Lt. Col. Andy Wood will appear this week at a House Oversight Committee hearing that will examine security decisions leading up to the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi.

Speaking to CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson, Wood said when he found out that his own 16-member team and a six-member State Department elite force were being pulled from Tripoli in August – about a month before the assault in Benghazi – he felt, “like we were being asked to play the piano with two fingers. There was concern amongst the entire embassy staff.”

He said other staffers approached him with their concerns when the reduction in security personnel was announced.

“They asked if we were safe,” he told Attkisson. “They asked… what was going to happen, and I could only answer that what we were being told is that they’re working on it – they’ll get us more (security personnel), but I never saw that.”

Wood insists that senior staff in Libya, including Ambassador Stevens, State Department Regional Security Officer Eric Nordstrom, and himself, all wanted and had requested enhanced security.

VIDEO – Want to Know What Really Happened in Libya?

October 7, 2012 at 8:50 pm (Al Qaeda, Benghazi, Christopher Stevens, Libya, Obama Administration)

An amazing new video from our friends at the Heritage Foundation.

Via YouTube:

New evidence shows there were security threats in Libya in the months prior to the deadly September 11 attack that killed U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans. Despite these threats, the State Department left its personnel there to fend for themselves.

Bombshell Report: Obama Administration Pulled Special Forces Teams From Libya One Month Before Attack

October 7, 2012 at 12:41 pm (Andy Wood, Benghazi, Christopher Stevens, DC-3, Libya, Obama Administration, Special Forces, State Department)

ABC News reports on an e-mail from the State Department that shows them rejecting a security team request at the US embassy in Libya.

ABC News has obtained an internal State Department email from May 3, 2012, indicating that the State Department denied a request from the security team at the Embassy of Libya to retain a DC-3 airplane in the country to better conduct their duties.

Copied on the email was U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, who was killed in a terrorist attack on the diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya,  Sept. 11, 2012, along with three other Americans. That attack has prompted questions about whether the diplomatic personnel in that country were provided with adequate security support.

No one has yet to argue that the DC-3 would have  definitively  made a difference for the four Americans killed that night. The security team in question, after all, left Libya in August.

And now, another bombshell report shows that the security team that left in August was a 16 member special forces operation charged with the task of specifically protecting US personnel in Libya.

Via Gateway Pundit:

Bombshell: The Obama State Department withdrew a 16 member special forces team from Benghazi one month before the deadly attacks on 9-11. Lt. Col. Andy Wood was the leader of the 16 member special forces team whose job it was to protect US personnel in Libya. His team’s mission ended in August a month before the deadly Al-Qaeda attack on 9-11. A six member mobile security team was also withdrawn around the same time. This was despite the fact that there were over a dozen attacks in the country this year. Lt. Col. Wood was subpoenaed to appear at a House committee hearing this coming week. Wood told CBS News it was unbelievable to him that the State Department withdrew security when they did because of the 13 security incidents before 9-11.

Watch the video below…

Is there any wonder that the administration then spent three weeks trying to blame the attacks on a video, as opposed to admitting that their lax security measures may have been to blame?
Is there any wonder they are trying to cover up the investigation until after the election?

Report: Sensitive Documents May Have Disappeared in Libya Attack Aftermath

October 3, 2012 at 4:08 pm (Ambassador Stevens, Benghazi, Christopher Stevens, Hillary Clinton, Libya, Obama Administration, Sensitive Documents, Washington Post)

The incompetence of the Obama administration in handling this attack grows ever more apparent.

Via the Washington Post:

More than three weeks after attacks in this city killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans, sensitive documents remained only loosely secured in the remains of the U.S. mission here on Wednesday, offering visitors easy access to delicate details about American operations in Libya.

Documents detailing weapons collection efforts, emergency evacuation protocols, the full internal itinerary of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens’s trip and the personnel records of Libyans who were contracted to secure the mission were among the items scattered across the floors of the looted compound when a Washington Post reporter and a translator visited Wednesday.

Although the gates to the compound were locked several days after the attacks, looters and curiosity-seekers were free to roam in the initial chaotic aftermath, and many documents may already have disappeared.

No government-provided security forces are guarding the compound, and Libyan investigators have visited just once, according to a member of the family who owns the compound and who allowed the journalists to enter Wednesday.

Of course nobody is in a hurry to secure the crime scene and investigate the attack, Hillary has already said she’d like to hold off on finding answers until after the election.

Muslims Protest ‘Speech That Hurts’ – Yes, In the Same City Where Muslims Were Filmed Violently Assaulting Christians

September 29, 2012 at 9:15 am (Arab Festival, Arab-American News, Cairo, Christians, Dearborn, Egypt, Football, Free Speech, Innocence of Muslims, Michigan, Muslims, Obama Administration, Osama Siblani)

The question here is which hurts more – words, or violent actions?  The old sticks and stones argument…

Arab-American News publisher Osama Siblani rallied Muslim activists in Dearborn, Michigan yesterday, in an attempt to drum up support for ‘blasphemy laws’ that would fundamentally destroy the right of free speech in our country.  The group claims that the laws are necessary so as not to hurt the “religious feelings of Muslims”.

Not coincidentally, the group is clearly taking the lead of the Obama administration by calling for these laws in response to an anti-Muslim video – a video that only the administration has focused on, and a video we now know had absolutely nothing to do with the violence currently sweeping the Middle East.

In fact, it is so apparent that this group is channeling the Obama administration, that they are quoting the now famous apology issued by the U.S. Embassy in Egypt, in which they too denounced ‘hurt(ing) the religious beliefs of others’.

Via the Michigan View:

Led by a newspaper publisher, Muslim activists will call for putting limits on American free speech at a Dearborn rally this evening. You can’t make this stuff up.

Nearly a decade after Dearborn’s streets celebrated America for bringing down Saddam Hussein and opening a door to democracy in the Mideast, the same city will be the epicenter today of calls to squelch free speech. Protesting the film, “Innocence of Muslims,” that has sparked protests in the Mideast, rally organizer Tarek Baydoun says that so-called blasphemy laws are necessary to prevent speech that hurts the “the religious feelings of Muslims.”

This assault on the First Amendment in the name of the prophet Mohammed is a sad day in America – and confirms fears that Muslim-American activists do not understand the fundamental separation of church and state in the American Constitution.

“There is a need for deterrent legal measures against those individuals or groups that want to damage relations between people, spread hate and incite violence,” said Arab-American News publisher Osama Siblani, a self-proclaimed “moderate” who is apparently oblivious to how gutting the First Amendment would affect his own business.

It is always astounding how people who protest alleged hate speech can’t ever seem to grasp the fact that the violence is always a more abhorrent action than the speech itself.  They do not condemn protesters who burn our embassies.  They do not rally against those who murder our diplomats.  They simply and repeatedly condemn free speech.

It is particularly ironic in this case, since a group of Muslims, also from Dearborn, Michigan, were filmed violently throwing bottles, stones, and anything else they could find at Christians this past summer.

Jihad Watch reports:

During the 2012 Arab International Festival held this past June in Dearborn, Michigan, a group of Christian evangelists were pelted with stones, bottles, and debris by Muslim youths while deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office stood idly by, allowing the criminal assault to take place. Many of the Christians were bloodied by the attack. When Ruben Israel, the leader of the Christian group, asked the law enforcement officers present to step in and enforce the criminal law so that the Christians could exercise their right to freedom of speech, Israel was given the option of either leaving the festival or facing arrest….

Here is the video:

Dearborn is also the location where four Muslim football players beat a Christian quarterback during a football game.

Violent beatings?  Check.
Throwing stones at Christians until they are bloodied?  Check.
Free speech?  NO!
Christians exercising their right to free speech in the United States of America are attacked.  Our diplomats in the Middle East – murdered.  And now, free speech is under assault.
And the Obama administration is playing into all of it.  The President should spend less time apologizing for America, and start apologizing too America.

Obama Admin Deletes State Department Memo After Benghazi Attack

September 28, 2012 at 9:00 am (Ambassador Stevens, Benghazi, Chris Stevens, Cover Up, Libya, Obama Administration, President Obama)

It would appear the State Department has been caught trying to cover up more information in regards to the attack in Benghazi, Libya.  Attacks that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.

Essentially, they deleted an internet memo which stated that prior to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, that they had received no credible threats.  We now know this was not the case.

Via Gateway Pundit:

Yesterday there were reports that the Obama Administration found out that Al-Qaeda was behind the Benghazi consulate attacks within 24 hours of the assault that killed four Americans.
Here’s what they did – They scrubbed a damning State Department memo from the internet–
On Wednesday September 12, 2012 blogger Speak With Authority discovered that five days before 9-11, the US State Department sent out a memo announcing no credible security threats against the United States on the anniversary of 9-11.
But now it’s gone. The State Department scrubbed the letter from its OSAC website.

We now know this not to be true.  The administration had received credible threats prior to the attacks.

This CBN report explains:

CBN News Terrorism Analyst Erick Stakelbeck called Benghazi an al Qaeda “hot spot” and agrees that there was threat there well before the film’s release.

“For the Obama administration to continue to argue that these attacks were just spontaneous flies in the face of reality,” Stakelbeck said.

“One day before the attacks, Ayman al-Zawahri — who’s al Qaeda’s global leader — specifically called for al Qaeda attacks in Libya,” he explained. “One day later we see those attacks.”

This is a cover up of the highest order.  The Obama administration knew that attacks were possible and left U.S. consulate buildings unprotected.  The administration is directly responsible for the magnitude in which those attacks became successful.

And now, they know that there is evidence that something could have been done to prevent the deaths of these four Americans, and for other embassies coming under fire.

The only question now is, was it intentional?

Think I’m throwing stones?

Read this, and you won’t look at the current administration the same again…

Bombshell: Administration Knew Attacks That Killed Ambassador Stevens Were the Work of Terrorists Within 24 Hours

September 26, 2012 at 12:00 pm (Al Qaeda, Ambassador, Benghazi, Christopher Stevens, Libya, Obama Administration, Radical Islam, Susan Rice, Terrorist, White House)

Even yesterday, the President himself was lying to the world in front of the United Nations, refusing to call the attacks in Libya ‘terrorist’ in nature, and instead spending several minutes talking about a video that nobody in their right mind believes caused the violence.

The Daily Beast (via Hot Air) has dropped the curtain on this charade (emphasis mine):

Five days after the attack on the Benghazi consulate that left four Americans dead, including Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, the Obama administration sent UN Ambassador Susan Rice onto five Sunday talk shows to insist that the sacking of the consulate was the result of a protest over a YouTube video that “spun out of control.”  The government of Libya was already scoffing at that story, and by the end of the next week the White House began reluctantly admitting that terrorists had attacked the diplomatic mission.  Today, however, Eli Lake reports for the Daily Beast that the Obama administration knew within 24 hours that the attack had not been a spontaneous event, but a well-planned terrorist attack:
Within 24 hours of the 9-11 anniversary attack on the United States consulate in Benghazi, U.S. intelligence agencies had strong indications al Qaeda–affiliated operatives were behind the attack, and had even pinpointed the location of one of those attackers. Three separate U.S. intelligence officials who spoke to The Daily Beast said the early information was enough to show that the attack was planned and the work of al Qaeda affiliates operating in Eastern Libya. …
The intelligence officials who spoke to The Daily Beast did so anonymously because they weren’t authorized to speak to the press. They said U.S. intelligence agencies developed leads on four of the participants of the attacks within 24 hours of the fire fight that took place mainly at an annex near the Benghazi consulate. For one of those individuals, the U.S. agencies were able to find his location after his use of social media. “We had two kinds of intelligence on one guy,” this official said. “We believe we had enough to target him.”
Another U.S. intelligence official said, “There was very good information on this in the first 24 hours. These guys have a return address. There are camps of people and a wide variety of things we could do.”
A spokesman for the National Security Council declined to comment for the story. But another U.S. intelligence official said, “I can’t get into specific numbers but soon after the attack we had a pretty good bead on some individuals involved in the attack.”
In other words, either Susan Rice lied to the press, or was lied to by the Obama administration and sent out to the press deliberately.  That leaves the national media in a quandry.  Clearly, with only a couple of exceptions, the media hasn’t wanted to address the implications of a successful terrorist attack on an American diplomatic installation … at least not during the Barack Obama presidency.  Now it’s becoming very clear that the administration didn’t just tell them to “f*** off,” the White House actively lied about the attack in order to deflect further questions from the media.

Please go read the rest folks…

This is huge, huge news, and is a clear demonstration that the Obama administration will jump first to protect the terrorists and radical Islam, well before they will act to protect the lives of innocent Americans.

Video: Guess Who’s Calling Obama a Liar Now … Obama

September 9, 2012 at 9:30 am (2008 Campaign, 2012 Election, Debt, Deficit, Economy, Jobs, Liar, Lies, Mainstream Media, Obama Administration, President Obama, Promises, Worst President)

Honestly, after watching this short video (starring Obama himself), it’ll be hard to remember anything the President said during the 2008 campaign that he actually told the truth about.  Or any promise that he actually kept.

A hat tip to the Independent Journal Review for pointing out the video, and a great job by YouTube user SnorkelDogg for producing it.

Case Closed: If Moderate Voters See This Video, It’s Over for Obama

This is a stunning thirteen minute video that shows Obama in his own words, with commentary from mostly mainstream media sources. If this video goes viral and reaches moderate and independent voters, it would be a big blow to the Obama re-election bid.

Like I said in the title, if an undecided voter sees this, it’s over for Obama.

Watch the video below, and then share this post with everyone you know…

U.S. Agrees to Release Taliban Prisoners Because They Promise to Start a Peace Office

January 3, 2012 at 9:05 pm (Bridge in Brooklyn, Obama Administration, President Obama, Taliban, Terrorists, The Guardian)

We pinky swear!

This must be Winning The Future and can therefore be filed under WTF?!

The Guardian is reporting that the U.S. has agreed to release top-ranking officials from the Taliban in exchange for a promise to start peace negotiations.  Never mind that AK-47 behind the purple curtain.
I repeat – The Obama administration is releasing high-level terrorists caught on the battlefield, in exchange for a promise.
From the Guardian:

The US has agreed in principle to release high-ranking Taliban officials from Guantánamo Bay in return for the Afghan insurgents’ agreement to open a political office for peace negotiations in Qatar, the Guardian has learned.

According to sources familiar with the talks in the US and in Afghanistan, the handful of Taliban figures will include Mullah Khair Khowa, a former interior minister, and Noorullah Noori, a former governor in northern Afghanistan.

More controversially, the Taliban are demanding the release of the former army commander Mullah Fazl Akhund. Washington is reported to be considering formally handing him over to the custody of another country, possibly Qatar.

The releases would be to reciprocate for Tuesday’s announcement from the Taliban that they are prepared to open a political office in Qatar to conduct peace negotiations “with the international community” – the most significant political breakthrough in ten years of the Afghan conflict.

And here is the understatement of the year:

“To take this step, the [Obama] administration have to have sufficient confidence that the Taliban are going to reciprocate,” said Vali Nasr, who was an Obama administration adviser on the Afghan peace process until last year. “It is going to be really risky. Guantánamo is a very sensitive issue politically.”

You have to read it, to believe it…
