Gawker may have never produced such an offensive article in their long offensive history as the one they posted on Friday by Cord Jefferson.
The title says it all:
Born This Way: Sympathy and Science for Those Who Want to Have Sex with Children
Not once in the lengthy piece does Jefferson refer to the act in it’s proper terminology – rape. Worse, he categorizes the act of raping children as a ‘sexual orientation’, treating it as a harmless choice no different than homosexuality, as opposed to a violent crime.
The article is sick and disgusting on so many levels. It begins with a sympathetic story involving a man named Terry, who has been convicted of raping his seven-year-old niece. Fitting with the theme that this was a sexual act and not a crime, Jefferson attempts to create sympathy for the rapist – portraying him as a religious man who was the victim of an abusive marriage, and describing what happens with his niece as an actual ‘relationship’.
As Jefferson explains, “it’s not easy to listen to Terry talk about the time he had sex with a seven-year-old girl”. I would imagine it would be infinitely harder to listen to the little girl’s version. Or her parents story.
Terry, Jefferson then explains, “fell for his niece and began a sexual relationship with her”.
The rest of the story is rather graphic.
The problem here is that the author doesn’t seem able to comprehend the difference between rape and sex, and he is rationalizing the behavior of pedophiles. As an example, at one point Jefferson describes the rapist’s mindset – “I had the thought that I would never hurt her and that she would grow up trusting me.”
This is such a typical behavior by pedophiles that it’s hard to imagine anyone could write such a statement without recognizing it as “grooming”, a technique used by child rapists to gain the trust of their child victims.
Noel Sheppard of NewsBusters also points out that Jefferson wonders why pedophiles “don’t enjoy the same kind of tolerance” as other people who may simply be attracted to “busty women” or “tall men”.
Holy hell! In what parallel universe does a sane individual not recognize the difference between being attracted to busty women and small children?
Sheppard also points out that a case for tolerance can be made, according to the article, because ‘Jesus would embrace pedophiles’.
Warner Todd Huston points out in his analysis that this simply isn’t so:
Gawker writer Cord should be ashamed of himself for having said that Jesus would “embrace” pedophiles. As the website Poor Richard’s News notes (by way of Newsbusters), the Bible does not excuse pedophilia..
But whoever causes the downfall of one of these little ones who believe in Me—it would be better for him if a heavy millstone were hung around his neck and he were drowned in the depths of the sea! — Matthew 18: 6
“Jesus died for the forgiveness of sin, not the embrace of it,” the site notes. “The Bible is very clear that while all sins can be forgiven, Jesus never ever embraces the sin itself. He made no bones about the punishment for harming a child.”
There is a special section in hell for child rapists, no doubt.
Gawker needs to apologize for this piece immediately and let the public know that Jefferson’s pro-pedophilia platform will not be tolerated in their pages again.
Terminate this sick, sick man immediately.
Let’s see … This will make him an illegal alien and convicted felon shortly. Or as Democrats like to call it – a target voter.
Via Fox 23:
A shocking crime in Saratoga Springs as a 67-year-old woman is dragged out of her car and brutally attacked.
Police say the woman was waiting for her husband, just before 4 a.m., in the area of Congress and South Franklin Streets.
They say the suspect tried to pull her to a dark, isolated area as she yelled for help.
A witness told police and when officers arrived, the suspect took off.
He was arrested a short time later hiding under bushes.
Police say the man, 18-year-old Antonio Lopez-Bautista, is in the country illegally.
He’s been charged with attempted kidnapping and attempted rape.
Retired Staff Sgt., Colleen Bushnell of the USAF delivered an impassioned response to Fox News commentator Liz Trotta. As you may recall, Trotta suggested “that women who defend this country should expect to get raped” when serving in the military.
Bushnell writes at the Service Women’s Action Network (SWAN):
Ms. Trotta’s detractors have continued to call on her to apologize, and on Fox News to fire her. What is clear to many female military sexual trauma survivors is that Ms. Trotta’s attacks, at core, stem from her belief that women should not serve in the military at all…
Did you really have to go there, Ms. Trotta? It is time for you, and others of your mindset, to join the rest of us in the year 2012 to recognize what women have been doing in the military for decades.
Bushnell goes on to describe personal trauma that she has endured while serving in the military. She speaks to Trotta from experience, then states:
With these circumstances as my truths, Ms. Trotta, I hear you. However, it is ludicrous to revisit an argument decided on more than thirty-years ago, beginning with the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act of 1948, which granted women permanent status in the regular, and reserve forces of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force.
Women are here to stay. It is time for you to get with the program. Women constitute about fifteen percent of the military’s end strength. Some say our work is responsible for avoiding the need for the draft.
It is an important counterpoint.
Olbermann and his current liberal friends in the media seem to really be pushing this narrative that rapes at Occupy encampments across the country didn’t happen. Saying something didn’t happen until you believe it, simply indicates some sort of psychotic issue in your own mind. It doesn’t erase the facts.
Daily Kos founder, Markos Moulitsas, made this statement on Olbermann’s show (h/t Weasel Zippers):
“They [Occupiers] can be as filthy and they can rape people — if you want to make stuff up — but the fact is nobody really cares about it because that message isn’t about the messenger, it’s not about who’s delivering a message, but it’s about the message itself which really resonates at a very core emotional level with people who are suffering in this economy.”
First, the only people making things up are Olbermann and Moulitsas, denying these things happened. You can’t stare at a blue sky and try to tell everyone around you that it’s green.
Second, I would imagine those who were victims of the rapes do actually care, along with anyone who has a conscience.
A few months ago I wrote a piece which included a list of transgressions at the Occupy camps, which was labeled ‘Lust’. Remember, this is actually a short list.
Lust is generally considered to constitute an uncontrollable range of sexual thoughts or desires. The Occupiers seem to have an overabundance of this at their protests:
- A 24-year-old convicted sex offender having sex with a 14-year-old at Occupy Dallas.
- Rapes and instances of groping in New York’s Zuccotti Park.
- One rape victim was alleged to have been a deaf man.
- A female protester raped at Occupy Philadelphia.
- Women Only sleeping quarters had to be erected at the New York encampment.
- A permit was yanked in Madison, Wisconsin, due to public masturbation.
- A Los Angeles protester arrested for masturbating in front of children.
