Horror in NY! City Shuts Down Free Vibrator Giveaway (Video)

August 9, 2012 at 11:23 am (Free Vibrator Giveaway, Mayor Bloomberg, New York, New York City, Pleasure Carts, Sandra Fluke, Trojan, Trojan Man)

The Trojan brand condom company was shaking things up in New York yesterday.  They set up “pleasure carts” in two Manhattan neighborhoods, cocked, loaded, and ready to hand out over 10,000 free vibrating sex toys.  Hundreds of people lined up for their chance to receive a vibrator, but the gathering quickly grew flaccid as city officials stepped in to issue a stiff warning for promoters to shut down due to the big crowds.

A vibrator giveaway that attracted long lines in New York City came to an abrupt end when the city told the promoters to pack it up.

The Trojan condom company set up “Pleasure Carts” on Wednesday in two Manhattan neighborhoods, and were set to give away 10,000 vibrating sex toys. Nearly 300 people had lined up at each of the hot-dog-style carts…

Though officials were clearly giving the crowd a hard time, they did state that the carts could be erected again once the company attains proper permits.

…  One of those on line, Melody Henry, grumbled that Mayor Michael Bloomberg “doesn’t want anyone to have fun. You can’t have a giant soda, You can’t have a vibrator.”

I’m not sure what you’re doing with carbonated beverages that you’re lumping them in the same category of fun as sex toys, but I can guarantee you’re probably using the straw the wrong way.  It’s the Big Gulp, not the Big … well, maybe I won’t go there.

The New York Post delivered yet another classic line with their reporting:

“They must have rubbed Mayor Bloomberg the wrong way.”

No word on whether or not Sandra Fluke was going to speak in the city about the hardships caused by a lack of free vibrators.  Though, perhaps the free sex toys would alleviate the need for such drastic amounts of government-funded contraception.

Democrats Really, Really Want You to Believe Republicans Hate Women

March 15, 2012 at 7:46 am (Abortion, Contraception, Democrats, Republicans, Sandra Fluke, War on Children, War on Women, Women)

In a brief, 250-word fundraising e-mail, Democrats used the phrase “Republican War on Women” four times.  My question is, since the focus of this ‘war on women’ seems to involve the right to have an abortion, or prevent a pregnancy, then why are Democrats so insistent on conducting a “War on Children”?

Via Beltway Confidential:

The Sandra Fluke episode hasn’t done much for Democrats in terms of public opinion — Obama has slipped a bit with women since it occurred — a little-appreciated truth about their social issue portfolio more broadly. But when it comes to fundraising, there’s no better way of opening liberals’ wallets for their campaigns.
The Dems clearly get this, and they’ve left no drop unmilked with the Fluke incident. I noted yesterday that I’ve received 23 fundraising emails on the topic from just the two Democratic congressional committees (the DCCC and the DSCC). You know that silly game Republicans play with flag-burning amendments? The Democrats’ version is the “war on women.”

And here’s a copy of that letter:

Republicans have a clear agenda for women: Defund Planned Parenthood, deny women access to health care and birth control, and even prohibit women the right to participate in the debate about women’s health care.

Grassroots Democrats around the country have united against the Republican War on Women to launch a Women’s Health Accountability Fund. Our goal is to expose the truth about Republicans’ war on women with an aggressive rapid response operation including ads, on-the-ground organizing and more.

It’s important that national Republicans and their allies like Rush Limbaugh are held accountable for their vile, outrageous, and unceasing attacks on women’s health care. We are only $19,433 away from our Women’s Health Accountability fund goal before tonight’s midnight deadline.

Please chip in $3 by midnight tonight so Democrats can launch an urgent rapid response campaign against the Republican War on Women.

Republicans in Congress thought they could silence us by refusing to let Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke testify on their all-male panel on birth control coverage.

They were wrong.

There are only hours to go before Democrats launch an urgent grassroots campaign to hold Republicans accountable for their War on Women.

Can you pitch in right now?

Thanks,

Rep. Diana DeGette

Co-Chair of the House Pro-Choice Caucus

P.S. While Republicans double down on their radical agenda that would restrict women’s access to reproductive health care and the right to have a seat at the table to discuss women’s health care, we are making sure American people know the truth. Will you join us?

Video Evidence of the President as Apologizer-In-Chief

March 9, 2012 at 8:33 am (Apology, Congress, Contraceptives, Heathcare Mandate, House, Louie Gohmert, Obamacare, President Obama, Religious Freedom, Rush Limbaugh, Sandra Fluke, Special Order, Texas)

We mentioned recently how the President had shamed himself yet again by offering apologies on behalf of the United States for the military rightfully burning desecrated Korans, but refused to demand an apology for the murder of our men and women over the same incident.

Now, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) has put together a video presentation of the Apologizer-in-Chief in action.  It’s worth taking a look to see that the President apologizes only when it suits him politically.

Here’s the video description:

Rep. Louie Gohmert (TX-01) spoke on the House floor about the numerous frivolous and harmful apologies President Obama has made on behalf of the United States, while disregarding or even refusing to acknowledge some of the most important current events.
