Wendy Long Exposes Gillibrand as Flip-Flopping Job Killing Partisan

October 18, 2012 at 8:00 am (Ed Cox, Kirsten Gillibrand, New York, Skidmore College, War on Women, Wendy Long)

Yesterday, New York GOP Chairman Ed Cox released the following statement:

“At Skidmore College this evening, Wendy Long and Kirsten Gillibrand engaged in their only debate – while Long had agreed to six separate debates, New York’s Junior Senator only agreed to one.
On taxes, Long cited Ronald Reagan’s caveat that ‘the federal government doesn’t have debt and deficits because the American people are undertaxed,’ and pledged to lower the federal tax burden for New Yorkers, already the most taxed citizens in the nation.

Gillibrand paid lipservice to the fiscal conservatism, but when pressed by Long, was unable to cite a single federal program that she would cut.

Gillibrand tried in vain to cast herself as a supporter of the Second Amendment, but was unable to explain her 180 degree flip-flop on gun control, which led the NRA to downgrade her from an “A” rating to an “F”.

Gillibrand, who has been selling baseless “War on Women” rhetoric for years, refused to accept Long’s invitation to join her in calling for the resignation of Speaker Sheldon Silver, who was caught using taxpayer money as hush payouts for female victims of rape and sexual harassment in the New York State Assembly.

Wendy Long is the only person in this race who will put the people of New York over partisan interests.”

Official Obama Campaign Website: ‘Vote Like Your Lady Parts Depend On It’

October 2, 2012 at 1:50 pm (2012 Election, Biden, Campaign, Lady Parts, Mitt Romney, Obama, President Obama, War on Women, Women)

Well this seems mildly inappropriate for a presidential campaign website.

It is an e-card with a woman’s image and an attached caption which reads, “Vote like your lady parts depend on it.”

And a comment which accompanies the image states, “because they kinda do.”

You know, because the Republican war on women extends to banishing and/or controlling your lady parts.

Here is the description of the campaign site:

This is the Obama 2012 campaign’s official home on Tumblr. Have a story, photo, or video you’d like to share here? Go ahead and submit it today.

If this were on Romney’s campaign website, it’d be plastered all over the media.  But not so for the Obama campaign, where you will hear nary a peep from mainstream journalists.

The childish attempt at humor would seem to be beneath the dignity of the President, but then we’ve learned that little is actually beneath the moral character of this administration.

UPDATE:  The campaign has scrubbed the image from their website.

New York Democrats Have Joined Arms in the War on Women

September 5, 2012 at 12:13 pm (Cover Up, Ed Cox, Kirsten Gillibrand, New York, Payoffs, Sexual Harassment, Sheldon Silver, Vito Lopez, War on Women)

Today, New York GOP Chairman Ed Cox released the following statement regarding the silence by New York Democrats in Charlotte:

“It is deeply disappointing that New York Democrats in Charlotte, like U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, have remained utterly silent about the attempted sexual assault cover-ups perpetrated by Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver. Indeed, Mr. Silver is serving as the head of the New York delegation at the Democratic National Convention, without a peep from Ms. Gillibrand or her fellow delegates. That is an embarrassment to our state.

“While Ms. Gillibrand has continued to promulgate the term ‘War on Women,’ it appears the only ‘War on Women’ in Albany is against female Assembly staff members.

“Mr. Silver has established a clear pattern of covering up sexual crimes committed against female staff members by his political colleagues. He must not be allowed to remain Speaker. I urge New York Democrats –especially those like Ms. Gillibrand, who purport to stand up for women, to join me in calling on Mr. Silver to step aside as Speaker.

“Continued silence from the Democratic delegation in Charlotte is unacceptable.”

Democrats Drop God From Their Official Party Platform

September 4, 2012 at 4:23 pm (Abortion, Children, Democrats, DNC, God, War on Children, War on Religion, War on Women, Women)

The shocking part here is that they ever actually had God in the platform to begin with.

CBN reports:

Guess what? God’s name has been removed from the Democratic National Committee platform.

This is the paragraph that was in the 2008 platform:

“We need a government that stands up for the hopes, values, and interests of working people, and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential.”

Now the words “God-given” have been removed. The paragraph has been restructured to say this:

“We gather to reclaim the basic bargain that built the largest middle class and the most prosperous nation on Earth – the simple principle that in America, hard work should pay off, responsibility should be rewarded, and each one of us should be able to go as far as our talent and drive take us.”

I suppose it would be difficult to include God in a platform that also “opposes any effort” to stop abortion.

LifeNews reports:

Democrats at the 2012 Democratic National Convention are set to approve a platform today that is unambiguously pro-abortion and opposes any effort whatsoever to stop any abortions. The platform also calls on forcing Americans to pay for abortions at taxpayer expense.

The platform Democrats will approve rejects efforts to stop forcing taxpayers to fund Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion business and supports the Obama HHS mandate that forces religious groups to pay for and refer women for abortion-causing drugs under Obamacare.

Here is an excerpt of the exact wording on their abortion stance:

The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay. We oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.

And so it is… Democrats are waging a War on God, Catholics, women, and children.

Long: Gillibrand Needs to Tell Speaker Silver to Step Aside in Light of "Gropergate" Investigation

September 4, 2012 at 1:00 pm (Dennis Hastert, Gropergate, John Sweeney, Kirsten Gillibrand, New York, NY-20, Off the Sidelines, Sheldon Silver, Vito Lopez, War on Women, Wendy Long)

A whole new level of hypocrisy and dysfunction, that’s the state things have gone to in Albany where top Democrats pay taxpayer dollars in hush money to silence victims of sexual harassment. But where is Senator Gillibrand, America’s number one cheerleader for women’s rights?

U.S. Senate candidate Wendy Long said, “As New York Democrats rally in Charlotte and attempt to distract attention from jobs and the economy with talk of a phony ‘war on women,’ they turn their back on systematic and government-sanctioned sexual harassment back here in New York. It’s time for Senator Gillibrand, self-anointed protector of women’s rights, to get ‘off the side lines’ and call on Speaker Silver to step aside while investigations by JCOPE and Staten Island District Attorney Donovan proceed.”

Gillibrand, who only belatedly called for Lopez’s resignation, has worked fanatically to position herself as an advocate for women’s rights, even claiming that her campaign front, Off the Sidelines, assists Republicans. But when it comes to standing up for victims of sexual harassment and bucking her party, she has lost her voice.

In her 2006 race for Congress, Gillibrand urged then Congressman Sweeney to join her in calling for the resignation of Speaker Dennis Hastert in the wake of his negligence in handling the information provided to his office about Congressman Foley’s interaction with young Congressional pages.

“Democrats are scurrying like rats off a sinking ship to distance themselves from Lopez’s predatory behavior, but equally disturbing is the good old boy network that attempted to sweep ‘Gropergate’ under the rug and use taxpayer dollars to silence victims. New Yorkers deserve to know the truth, and Senator Gillibrand should call on the Speaker to step aside from his leadership post to assure a swift and complete investigation of the matter,” added Long.

Code Pink Spreading a Special Message to Republicans

August 10, 2012 at 6:34 pm (Code Pink, Republican Convention, RNC, Vagina, War on Women)

I’m going to refrain from any new innuendo or sexual puns for this one, due to yesterday’s post.  Well, with the exception of the title, of course.

And because Weasel Zippers basically drained the life out of me by posting this picture with their story.
Code Pink is apparently combating the Republican so-called War on Women by … objectifying women.  Isn’t that the very thing feminists despise?
Via Redredhead:
An email from Code Pink enthusiastically encourages women to “Send Your V to the RNC!”  The email explains:
Can’t make it to Tampa to protest at the Republican National Convention? No worries, you can still
send your vagina to the RNC!

CODEPINK is asking activists and artists across the nation to submit artistic representations of vaginas for us to deliver to the Republican Headquarters in Tampa.
Draw out a message that the Republicans need to see bright and bold! We suggest you create vagina artwork on 8 1/2″ x 11″ fabric or paper. We will quilt the art together to carry in the March on the RNC on August 27th.
We are also calling for vagina costumes that we can wear in the streets. Is sewing your passion? Do you love repurposing thrift store finds? We’d love to wear your costume!
No photography please. Get creative! Your message of opposition to the war on women will be heard.
Eve Ensler famously said: “My vagina’s furious and it needs to talk.” Our vaginas need to talk, too. They need to talk about the way women’s rights are threatened worldwide–from anti-choice legislation to inappropriate rape jokes to economic inequality to war and occupation overseas that disproportionately affect women’s lives.

Do these people realize they actually detract from their cause by being sophomoric and utterly ridiculous?

That’s a rhetorical question by the way.

Video – Planned Parenthood Encourages Woman to Abort Baby Because It’s a Girl

May 29, 2012 at 11:19 am (Abortion, Live Action, Medicaid, Planned Parenthood, Pro Life, Pro-Choice, Sex Selection, War on Children, War on Women)

Now where have we heard of this before?  Oh yes, communist China.

A recently released video from a group called Live Action shows a Planned Parenthood staffer encouraging a pregnant woman to have an abortion if it is determined that the baby she is carrying is a girl.  The woman’s preference is for a baby boy.

The practice is known as a sex-selection abortion, and denegrates the miracle of childbirth down to the level of a drive-thru order.

Further, the employee also encourages the woman to get on Medicaid, so she can have the ultrasound that will provide the knowledge necessary to determine whether to continue the pregnancy (if it’s a boy) or terminate the baby (if it’s a girl).

The Daily Caller reports:

Live Action says Planned Parenthood and other U.S. abortion providers are willing to assist in the termination of baby girls for pregnant women who choose abortion because they want to have baby boys. And the pro-life abortion watchdog says its video series and a new website will expose it all…

The first in what Live Action says is a series of videotaped incidents exposing American abortion facilities’ willingness to assist in sex-selection abortions took place at a South Austin, Texas Planned Parenthood clinic. In the footage, a Planned Parenthood counselor appears to readily assist and advise a Live Action actor who said she was trying to obtain an abortion if her baby is female.

“In this video, what is astounding is that Rebecca, the Planned Parenthood counselor, starts arranging with the actor about how to get a late-term abortion,” Rose said. “To wait until her pregnancy is so developed that — and using Medicaid for this, using the state to pay for the ultrasound to determine the gender, and then to do a late term abortion if it was a little girl.”

Remember when ultrasounds were used to figure out if the nursery needed blue or pink paint? Now it is being used to abort later term babies and try again until you have your preferred choice.

So who is conducting the real War on Women here – conservatives or pro-abortion liberals?

Scott Walker Opponent Criticizes GOP On Women, Promptly Turns Stage Over to Rapper Who Sings About "Bitches Who Ride Me"

May 25, 2012 at 1:47 pm (Milwaukee, Proph, Prophetic, Recall, Scott Walker, Tom Barrett, War on Women, Wisconsin, Women)

I’m sure the irony was completely lost on the Democrats in the crowd.

A rally was held in Milwaukee on May 19th, for Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s opponent in the upcoming recall election, Milwaukee Mayor, Tom Barrett.  During his speech, Barrett blasted the Republicans for their so-called “War on Women”.

Barrett then turned over the mic to rapper Prophetic (a.k.a Proph) who launched into his first number, “Sucka MCs”.  The ditty contains such lyrical gems as “bitches who ride me” and “make a n***** comfortable”.  If you were to ask Proph why they make him comfortable, he would respond with – “cash make the women shake they asses” so “get (on) the tour bus, bitch.”

Oh Mensa, how did you ever decline Proph’s application?

The cover art to his album shows the level of respect Proph has for women, and can be seen above.

Counter Contempt has more details, and also provided the video below.  It is surreal to watch Mayor Barrett shaking hands with the crowd after making a campaign speech involving women, whilst the poetic one raps behind him about his bitches…

DNC Now Conducting a War on Stay At Home Moms

April 12, 2012 at 3:00 pm (Ann Romney, David Axelrod, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Hilary Rosen, Jim Messina, Mitt Romney, Stay at Home Mom, War on Women)

A DNC adviser and strategist, Hilary Rosen, is under fire for criticizing Ann Romney as having “never worked a day in her life”.

Apparently raising five children doesn’t constitute a real job to Ms. Rosen.

Via ABC News:

Ann Romney’s debut on Twitter couldn’t have come at a more opportune time.

Ann’s first tweet came just moments after Democratic strategist and DNC adviser Hilary Rosen lobbed an insult at Ann Romney, suggesting that the 64-year-old mother of five and grandmother of 16 had never held a job.

“Guess what, his wife has actually never worked a day in her life,” said Rosen, who was being interviewed by CNN’s Anderson Cooper about the “war on women.”

That’s when Ann herself chimed in …

And then, just like that, a familiar name popped up on Twitter: @AnnDRomney.

“I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work,” Ann tweeted.

Democrats then proceeded to toss Rosen under the bus for ruining their War on Women lie by – attacking a woman…

“I could not disagree with Hilary Rosen any more strongly. Her comments were wrong and family should be off limits. She should apologize,” Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said in a tweet.

Top Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod also tweeted his disapproval: “Also Disappointed in Hilary Rosen’s comments about Ann Romney. They were inappropriate and offensive.”

Read the rest here…

UPDATE:  Rosen has apologized…

Via CNN:

Hilary Rosen offered an apology Thursday after her comments about Ann Romney sparked an uproar and a debate over women and the economy.
“I apologize to Ann Romney and anyone else who was offended,” Rosen, a top Democratic strategist and CNN contributor, said in a statement. “Let’s declare peace in this phony war and go back to focus on the substance.”

The most interesting part of that apology?  The admission that the War on Women is a fabricated lie.
