… you’re going to have to go somewhere else.
This is why martial arts and vodka never mix. Ever.
It was just a short while ago that vice-President Joe Biden was drawing laughter from a crowd for discussing the President’s “big stick“.
Now, clearly excited about the upcoming erec … er … election, Jill Biden is out on the campaign trail discussing her husband’s own ‘big stick‘, complete with visual aid.
Second Lady of the United States Jill Biden inadvertently made a penis joke during a campaign event in New Hampshire Friday.
“I’ve seen Joe up close,” Biden said while making a wide motion with her hands.
Biden giggled when the crowd reacted to her statement with laughs, cheers and cat calls.
“It’s in my remarks, really,” Biden said before continuing her speech.
Our video last week of Michelle Jenneke’s racy warm up routine was such a hit, we’re going to throw another bone to our younger single male audience…
This week’s Weekend Recess is an Olympic edition. She may have finished a distant 51st in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, but Leryn Franco became an internet sensation, ranking only behind Michael Phelps among internet searches for Olympic athletes. Why?
It’s clear that the 30-year-old from Paraguay is popular for more than just her javelin-throwing technique.
A model and beauty pageant contestant, Franco has participated in the Miss Bikini Universe pageant, released her own calendar, and was the runner-up to Miss Universo Paraguay in 2006. She has brought a bit of glam to her sport as well, posing in heels with her javelin for a photo shoot and wearing earrings with bling during competition.
Franco has fared far better on the magazine and Internet hot lists than in international javelin competitions. She appeared in the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and was most recently ranked No. 64 on AskMen.com’s “Top 99 Women” of 2012. She also made Maxim’s “Sexiest Women of the Olympics” list and has an endorsement contract with Nike.
Franco isn’t expected to compete for Olympic medals in 2012, though she has improved her personal numbers. Her personal best is 57.77 meters, a far cry from other javelinists (is that a word?) who have record tosses of 71+ meters.
Long shot or not, Franco promises to make quite an impression in London.
Usually our Weekend Recess clips are some sort of humorous video clip lighting up the internet that particular week. This week, we’re throwing a bone to our biggest audience share – the 18-34 year old single male.
That said, this video isn’t without humor. Whoever chose the cheesy background music to accompany the video has made the whole thing. The music makes it laugh-worthy throughout.
Incidentally, our other biggest audience attribute? According to Lijit.com, 43% of our readers make $100,000 in annual salary. With that in mind, I’d like to direct your attention to the ‘DONATE’ button located on the right side of this page. The shiny, candy-like button…
Without further ado, time to meet Michelle Jenneke, dancing internet sensation…
Via With Leather:
Australian hurdler Michelle Jenneke won heat 2 of the Women’s 100 metres hurdles at the 14th IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona over the weekend, and if you watch the following video closely you’ll take away three major observations:
1. Michelle Jenneke is good at hurdles.
2. Michelle Jenneke is smoking hot.
3. Michelle Jenneke is the only thing your brain will let you think of when Michelle Jenneke is dancing.
While everyone else is stretching out and concentrating, Michelle starts go-go dancing. The announcers mention how she’s “certainly having fun”, and then she kills everybody at the hurdles. When she wins, she hugs everyone and waves at the crowd.
If you watch this clip and don’t love Michelle Jenneke, please consult your physician.
Yahoo! Sports added:
According to Bleacher Report, sports blog With Leather posted raw, live-stream footage of Jenneke’s prerace routine, then went back and edited it with an “overt celebration of Jenneke and her dancing and running presented in gratuitous slow motion, and with an awful song over it.”
Here ya go…
Orville is a cat. Orville was named after the aviation pioneer, Orville Wright. Orville’s owner, clearly obsessed with aviation, decided that his dying cat’s last wish would be to fly. Wish granted.
Orville the Cat, was turned into a helicopter.
From Sky News:
An artist has turned his cat into a flying helicopter after it was killed by a car.Dutchman Bart Jansen stuffed Orville before teaming up with a radio control helicopter expert to attach propellers to each of its four paws. The cat – named after pioneering aviator Orville Wright – is now a piece of artwork. The “Orvillecopter” is on show at the Kunstrai art festival in Amsterdam.Jansen said his creation is “half cat, half machine”, and part of a visual art project to pay tribute to his pet.
And here’s the disturbing video…
Now Mr. Jansen, I’m quite sure your cat shared your love of aviation, because what cat doesn’t dream about flight, in between 23 hours of sleeping on the newspaper?
But I’m also fairly sure that upon his passing, his last request wasn’t to be transformed into Kitty Hawk Down.
