Santorum Points Out the Fundamental Flaw In Obama’s Thinking – He Views America as a Mistake

So, so sorry…

It may be obvious to some, but needs to be pointed out occasionally. Rick Santorum early this morning stated the fundamental problem in the way Obama has been governing our country – that he views the very country he leads to be a mistake.

From The Other McCain:

President Obama sees America’s transformational role in world history as a “mistake,” Rick Santorum said this morning at a gathering of Christian conservative activists.

The founding principles of limited government permit people ”to pursue their dreams, to provide for themselves and build strong families and communities and build a great country, as [Alexis] de Tocqueville wrote about in the early days of America, from the bottom up,” Santorum said at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s Prayer Breakfast here.

“We’re the wealthiest country in the world and the world is wealthier because they have become more like us. We’ve transformed humankind. And we have a president who sees all of that as a mistake.”

President Obama’s actions during his presidency seem to back up the claim, as demonstrated by the apology tour he has been undertaking since he took the oath of office.  Some brief examples…

He told the French that America “has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive” toward Europe.

He told Al Arabiya that America “sometimes make mistakes. We have not been perfect.”

In the Prague, he stated that America has “a moral responsibility to act” on arms control because only the U.S. had “used a nuclear weapon.”

He apologized at the Summit of the Americas, saying “I know that promises of partnership have gone unfulfilled in the past, and that trust has to be earned over time.”

He touted himself as the savior while apologizing for his predecessors at the G-20 Summit of World Leaders:  “I would like to think that with my election and the early decisions that we’ve made, that you’re starting to see some restoration of America’s standing in the world.”

How arrogant is that last statement?

On the contrary, America’s standing in the world has taken a significant blow because other nations no longer take the Office of the Presidency seriously.  Nor did the voters in 2008.  A rock star was anointed President, and America has been paying dearly since.

Will Santorum or one of the other GOP candidates restore that standing?
