Father of Slain SEAL: White House ‘Had a Moral Duty to Send Support, They Chose Not To’

October 27, 2012 at 11:41 am (Benghazi, Charles Woods, Chris Stevens, CIA, Hero, Heroes, Navy SEAL, Obama Administration, President Obama, Tyrone Woods, White House)

Morality isn’t a strong point of this administration, as we have come to learn over the last couple of months concerning the massacre in Benghazi.

Last night on Hannity the father of slain Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, spoke about the moral bankruptcy of the White House in their response to the attacks, and the subsequent lies and cover up.

Here is a brief excerpt (transcript and video below):

“For seven hours the cowards in the White House were watching something they knew that was going to potentially kill those 30 people and potentially kill my son and they refused to do that – even though they had a moral duty to send support, they chose not to.”

TRANSCRIPT (Rough):

HANNITY: moments ago i spoke with the father of this american hero tyrone woods to get reaction to these developments. an incredible interview. here is what he had to say.

HANNITY: we have learned so much in the aftermath of this attack. and you know we learned that the ambassador first requested security. it was denied. we learned that while they were under attack that they requested security and none was forthcoming and we learnd that they were watching this in the state department, charleen lamb said they were watching in in real time so everybody knew what was going on.

CHARLES WOODS: right, exactly. when i went back to washington, d.c. when the bodies were flown in i knew that something was fishy. it just — it was just obvious that something was wrong with this picture and in my mind i questioned, you know, this was obviously a long drawn out battle. why there was no immediate air support sent in that would have saved the lives of not just the other 30 people but also the life of my son who truly was an american hero? now, it has come out that pleas for help were made not just by the other individuals but by my son and these pleas were turned down by the white house. now, as you know i’m a retired attorney and i know that these actions legally do not constitute murder but in my mind the people in the white house all of them who have authority to send in reenforcements to prevent what they knew was going to be the death of my son are guilty of murdering my son. there is new information that came out this morning that my son on a couple of different occasions requested permission to go to the aide of those 30 people being attacked and on at least two of the first occasion he was told stay where you are are at, let them die, don’t go and it does not surprise me that my son disobeyed orders in order to save american lives. that is the type of american hero he was.

HANNITY: so after he was told to stand down as i understand t there were numerous other are pleas for help and your son actually as i understand it rescued many people and got them out of the consulate. is that true?

WOODS: you know, one of the real touching e-mails i got was — i won’t mention a name but i received an e-mail from someone who said your son’s sacrifice saved my life and he saved more than one life and that is the type of man he was. that is the type of leadership the military needs.

HANNITY: so if he would have obeyed that order to stand down rather than help the ambassador’s team that person is telling you they wouldn’t be alive today.

WOODS: that is correct.

HANNITY: and then —

WOODS: and a many other people as well.

HANNITY: your son first got involved, was told to stand down after they heard shots at a approximately 9:40 p.m. now, as i understand it, it wasn’t until about 4:00 a.m. the next day that your son after he had rescued other people was still fighting in this attack and it was then that he took on mortar fire?

WOODS: that is my understanding. for seven hours the cowards in the white house were watching something they knew that was going to potentially kill those 30 people and potentially kill my son and they refused to do that even though they had a moral duty to send support they chose not to. this is not the way the seals operate. the seals are an honorable unit and ty was honorable by disoh boying the powers in the white house that told him not to rescue those lives.

HANNITY: your son was told to stand down. a navy seal, risks h his military career and his life for 7 full hours and rescues all these people. multiple requests throughout the entire period go, it is be hing watched in real time and nobody sends any help. i can’t fathom this. and then we are told the president goes out there for two weeks and couldn’t admit this is a tort attack. why do you think he tried to blame it on the video or denied it was a terror attack?

WOODS: unfortunately, sean, we have a generation of liars who have no moral background. hopefully my son’s sacrifice and his moral courage and his moral strength will encourage our next generation to be completely different. that we will change our direction. that we will raise up a new generation of true american here are rows such as my son — heros such as my son who have moral courage and who are are not liars like too many people in authority are nowadays.

HANNITY: i know you met the president and you met hillary clinton. when they had this service.

WOODS: that is, correct. at andrew’s air force base when the bodies were flown in.

HANNITY: you said the president couldn’t look you in the eye and it was like shaking hands with a dead fish.

WOODS: that’s exactly right.

HANNITY: and so you felt he couldn’t look you in the eye and that basically he felt no empathy and you said the same thing pretty much about hillary clinton?

WOODS: right. what happened was he came through there kind of after everyone else had been in the room circulating and he came over and shook my hand, you know, i wanted to do more than just shake his hand so i kind of put my arm around his shoulder to have just a little bit of physical warmth, not a major hug but just a small one and he kind of — it wasn’t in a powerful voice it was more of just a whiney little voice i’m sorry. i could tell my his voice he wasn’t even sorry. it would be like a little kid that is told by the teacher to go apologize to johnny out on the play ground and when looked at me his face was pointed towards me but he couldn’t look me in the eye. he was shooing over my shoulder and like i say, i thought he political — literally like shaking hands with a dead fish. i did not believe him at all as far as his being sore arery and now we understand why. was he one of those cowards that was in the white house watching my son being murdered on tv and refusing to do anything? that is a question that he will probably not have the courage to answer publicly but i would like to personally know that answer and one of these days the whole i’m sure that we will have that answer.

HANNITY: it is the hardest thing to lose a child and learning about the heroics of your son are beyond inspiring. he put everything on the line, you know, if we want to use a biblical quote no greater love hath a man than to day down his life for someone else. your son lay down his life for others.

WOODS: thank you very much, sean. i appreciate the work you are doing.

HANNITY: i appreciate your time. thank you for being with us

Report: No One in CIA Ordered Operatives to Stand Down, Was a Presidential Decision

October 26, 2012 at 9:41 pm (Benghazi, CIA, General Petraus, Libya, President Obama, Presidential Decision, Scandal, Stand Down, Vegas)

The American people must force the media to cover this story.  This is a Presidential scandal of epic proportions.

Earlier today we reported on the news that the SEALs in Benghazi begged for help.  Begged for help and were told to “stand down” multiple times.

The PJ Tatler reports that help was not that far away.  The group could have been aided by the presence of an AC-130 that was actually stationed in Benghazi.

If you don’t get torches-and-pitchforks irate about this, you are not an American:

The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Specter gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.

There were two AC-130Us deployed to Libya in March as part of Operation Unified Protector.

The AC-130U is a very effective third-generation fire-support aircraft, capable of continuous and extremely accurate fire onto multiple targets. It has been used numerous times in Iraq and Afghanistan to save pinned-down allied forces, and has even been credited with the surrender of the Taliban city of Kunduz.

Torches and pitchfork irate is an understatement.

Doug Ross writes:

Benghazi-gate is spinning out of control and the Obama administration is dying right before our eyes, thanks especially to leaks that are coming fast and furious (no pun intended; oh, and here’s a helpful hint for future Democrat Presidents in the mold of Carter and Obama: throw the intel community under the bus at your own peril).

In recounting this sordid abdication of leadership (or worse), Glenn Beck stated this afternoon that, “Today, officially, is the day that I no longer recognize my country.”

And Karin McQuillan asks, “Did Obama watch while they fought for their lives?”

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse for President Obama, there’s this.

Via the Weekly Standard:

Breaking news on Benghazi: the CIA spokesman, presumably at the direction of CIA director David Petraeus, has put out this statement: “No one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate. ”

So who in the government did tell “anybody” not to help those in need? Someone decided not to send in military assets to help those Agency operators. Would the secretary of defense make such a decision on his own? No.

It would have been a presidential decision. There was presumably a rationale for such a decision. What was it? When and why—and based on whose counsel obtained in what meetings or conversations—did President Obama decide against sending in military assets to help the Americans in need?

The emphasis was added here, but let’s re-read that portion again.

Who in the Government did tell “anybody” not to help those in need?

It would have been a presidential decision.

Now, watch the President do what he’s done so successfully over the last month and a half – avoid answering questions about Benghazi.

He watched them die.  He watched them die and then flew to Vegas for a fundraiser.

Where is the American media?  Running scared.

We watched Navy SEALs ignore orders to stand down, running directly into the fight.

Then the President abandoned them.  And now the media is abandoning them again.

America, we can not abandon these brave men a third time.

‘Stand Down’: More Proof That Americans Killed in Benghazi Were Left to Die by Their Government

October 26, 2012 at 12:07 pm (Ambassador Stevens, Annex, Benghazi, CIA, Delta Force, Fox News, Glen Doherty, Jennifer Griffin, Libya, Navy SEALs, Tyrone Woods, White House)

The story of four Americans killed in Benghazi grows more horrifying each and every day.  This should be considered perhaps the biggest scandal in Presidential history.

Does it feel like it’s brig reported as such?

Via Fox News:

Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. Consulate and subsequent attack several hours later was denied by officials in the CIA chain of command — who also told the CIA operators twice to “stand down” rather than help the ambassador’s team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.

Former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were part of a small team who were at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. Consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When they heard the shots fired, they radioed to inform their higher-ups to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to “stand down,” according to sources familiar with the exchange. An hour later, they called again to headquarters and were again told to “stand down.”

Woods, Doherty and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the Consulate which at that point was on fire. Shots were exchanged. The quick reaction force from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the Consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.

At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied. There were no communications problems at the annex, according those present at the compound. The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. In fact, at least one member of the team was on the roof of the annex manning a heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA compound.

Three separate requests for help.

Three separate denials.

They were told to stand down.  They were left to die.

Obama Leaks the Identity of Seal Team 6 Leader For Upcoming Bin Laden Movie

May 25, 2012 at 9:00 am (2012 Election, Al Qaeda, British Intelligence, CIA, Double Agent, Hollywood, Judicial Watch, Navy SEAL, Osama Bin laden, President Obama, SEAL Team 6, Spike the Football)

Nothing like putting the life of a national hero in jeopardy by leaking his name, all for the sake of spiking the football on the Bin Laden raid.

Investor’s Business Daily writes:

National Security: New documents obtained by a watchdog group show our commander in chief gave the name of a Navy Seal Team 6 commander to the makers of a movie about Osama bin Laden. Valerie Plame, call your office.

Those documents, recently obtained by Judicial Watch, reveal that the Obama administration not only spiked the football and did an end-zone dance after the Navy SEALs dispatched bin Laden from his Club Pakistan abode, but was also willing to expose to the other side our playbook and the name of a SEAL commander.

“These documents, which took nine months and a federal lawsuit to disgorge from the Obama administration, show that politically connected filmmakers were given extraordinary and secret access to bin Laden raid information, including the identity of a SEAL Team 6 leader,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

“It is both ironic and hypocritical,” Fitton noted, “that the Obama administration stonewalled Judicial Watch’s pursuit of the bin Laden death photos, citing national security concerns, yet seemed willing to share intimate details regarding the raid to help Hollywood filmmakers release a movie ‘perfectly timed to give a home-stretch boost’ (as described by New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd) to the Obama campaign.”

Here is a copy of the document in question, a meeting transcript from July 14th, 2011, in which the filmmakers are given the identity of a “planner, SEAL Team 6 Operator and Commander.”  The name has been blacked out…

Judicial Watch Bin Laden Movie- DoD

Of course, it was a couple of weeks ago that the Obama administration was caught in the deliberate outing of a British covert agent, placing that agent’s life in danger all for the sake of reigniting his ailing campaign.

From the PJ Tatler:

Just a week ago the establishment media was aflutter with news that a CIA double-agent had thwarted a new type of underwear bomb attack targeting U.S. flights in a plot devised by al-Qaeda of the Arabian Peninsula.

But as the week progressed, a developing bombshell story got buried under President Obama’s gay marriage announcement. Not only is the supposed CIA asset not a CIA asset at all, but the entire operation was exposed prematurely and the double-agent’s life was immediately threatened by an intelligence leak that very well may have come out of the White House for political gain.

As the story broke, the establishment media was more than happy to attribute the intelligence coup to the CIA and the Obama administration, describing the mole as a “CIA informant.”

It turns out that wasn’t true. The double-agent hadn’t been recruited and placed by the CIA, but by British intelligence, who also managed the operation. In fact, the Americans had only recently been made aware of the joint British-Saudi effort.

The leaks about the operation from the American side have infuriated British intelligence officials, who had hoped to continue the operation. The leaks not only scuttled the mission but put the life of the asset in jeopardy. Even CIA officials, joining their MI5 and MI6 counterparts, were describing the leaks as “despicable,” attributing them to the Obama administration.

If they only knew just how despicable this administration is… Putting politics above national security and the safety of vital covert agents?  What must Scooter Libby think?
