Breaking: Several People Shot Outside Empire State Building, Gunman Dead
Several people have been shot outside the Empire State building this morning. Some reports indicate that as many as 10 people have been injured, while the gunman has been reportedly shot dead by police.
According to the AP:
Law enforcement officials in New York City say at least four people have been shot outside the Empire State Building in violence that stemmed from a workplace dispute, and that the gunman has been killed by police.
Police say as many as 10 people were injured, but it is unclear how many of them were hit by bullets.
The shooting happened at about 9 a.m. Friday at 34th Street and Fifth Avenue.
Fox News has reported that the workplace dispute was a result of the shooter being fired just yesterday.
Sky News video indicates that two people have been confirmed dead, one of them being the shooter.

I don’t recall – no pun intended – this sort of thing ever happening on an Election Night before.
I wonder how Democrats feel about having a grassroots base that is, in part, psychotic to the point of physical violence upon their own candidates for acknowledging reality. At the time, Barrett trailed by about 10 percentage points or 200,000 votes; as of this morning, Walker won by 7 percentage points, or roughly 173,000 votes.

New Developments in Brutal Alabama Beating
Unbelievably, this is still not being investigated as a hate crime.
One mother went on camera (watch video after the jump) to explain that it is the kids who are the real victims here, and that coverage of the Matthew Owens beating has been unfair. You heard that right, coverage has been unfair for those 20 people who beat him with paint cans, brass buckles, and any other weapon they could get their hands on.
Additionally, claims that one of the attackers uttered the phrase, “that’s justice for Trayvon” has been confirmed by another source.

Mobile police tell News 5 they still hope to make an arrest in the Matthew Owens case before the end of the night.Owens was beaten Saturday night in front of his home on Delmar Drive. Witnesses, including Owens sister, say 20 black people attacked Owens with pipes, paint cans and chairs. Owens is still in ICU at USA Medical Center. Weaving in and out of consciousness, Owens told his brother Lloyd, “Don’t let me die.”Police continue to downplay the Trayvon Martin connection to the beating. But a neighbor confirms what his sister told News 5. The neighbor, too scared to go on camera, told News 5′s Lauren Vargas that they heard one of the suspects say “This is justice for Trayvon” as she drove away.

Tonight, an angry mother who lives on the street told News 5′s Blake Brown that the kids who live on Delmar Drive are the real victims.
“Every single day it’s a problem with Mr. Owens concerning our kids,” Lemica Whisenhunt. “All these kids do is shoot basketball. We keep ‘em in the yard. They don’t bother anybody. We’d rather them play basketball than to be around here vandalizing, breaking into people’s homes. We try to bring our kids up the right way and show people that all black kids are not bad.“
Apparently ‘bringing your kids up the right way’ involves a mob assault of an unarmed man over a petty disagreement. Yea, your kids have a shot in hell of growing up the right way. Good luck.
20 Black Adults Beat White Man In Attempt to Get ‘Justice for Trayvon’
If Zimmerman is acquitted, these events will explode exponentially in number.
The only place where you can read about this attack is in the blogosphere. You will not see it reported at MSNBC, CNN, or Fox. That is, until the blogs force the exposure and the mainstream media tries to play catch up.
Mobile police need your help to catch a mob that beat Matthew Owens so badly that he’s in critical condition.
According to police, Owens fussed at some kids playing basketball in the middle of Delmar Drive about 8:30 Saturday night. They say the kids left and a group of adults returned, armed with everything but the kitchen sink.
Police tell News 5 the suspects used chairs, pipes and paint cans to beat Owens.
Owens’ sister, Ashley Parker, saw the attack. “It was the scariest thing I have ever witnessed.” Parker says 20 people, all African American, attacked her brother on the front porch of his home, using “brass knuckles, paint cans and anything they could get their hands on.”
Police will only say “multiple people” are involved.
What Parker says happened next could make the fallout from the brutal beating even worse. As the attackers walked away, leaving Owen bleeding on the ground,Parker says one of them said “Now thats justice for Trayvon.” Trayvon Martin is the unarmed teenager police say was shot and killed February 26 by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida.
The police are downplaying the Trayvon angle to help quell more violence. The media however, is downplaying it because it isn’t a racist hate crime unless it involves a ‘white hispanic’ man on a black man.
As Ace reminds us, this is the third violent attack which cites ‘justice for Trayvon’ as a motivation. The Baltimore beating, the Chicago mugging, and now this attack in Alabama.

I repeat: No national coverage of this racial hate crime pattern in the media.
Apparently some victims are unworthy, and some hatred and violence is justified.
Is Obama going to say anything? Call at least one of the victims? Attempt to bring calm? Attempt a “Sister Souljah” moment (which could actually benefit him politically) and call out violent black racists?
Apparently not, and the media has decided that’s their preferred political strategy, too.
Zimmerman Family Challenges Holder to Arrest New Black Panthers
The family of George Zimmerman is being pretty naive to think that the Attorney General of the United States would arrest somebody just for trying to incite their race-crazed base to violence. Remember when he refused to prosecute the New Black Panthers for voter intimidation because it ‘demeaned his people’? So what makes the Zimmerman’s think that this would be any less demeaning to his people?

In a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday, obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller, a family member of George Zimmerman asked the nation’s top law enforcement officer why he has chosen to not arrest members of the New Black Panther Party for their rhetoric — some of which may fit the federal government’s definition of a hate crime — throughout the Trayvon Martin case.
The family member believes the reason Holder hasn’t made those arrests is because he, like the members of the New Black Panther Party, is black.
“I am writing you to ask you why, when the law of the land is crystal clear, is your office not arresting the New Black Panthers for hate crimes?” the family member wrote to Holder.
“The Zimmerman family is in hiding because of the threats that have been made against us, yet the DOJ has maintained an eerie silence on this matter. These threats are very public. If you haven’t been paying attention just do a Google search and you will find plenty. Since when can a group of people in the United States put a bounty on someone’s head, circulate Wanted posters publicly, and still be walking the streets?”
The New Black Panthers have issued ultimatums to the Sanford authorities, saying they want Zimmerman arrested “dead or alive.” They have placed a bounty on Zimmerman’s head, and have called for the building of an army of vigilantes to track him down and effect a citizen’s arrest.

The neighborhood watch volunteer who fatally shot Trayvon Martin said the Florida teen physically attacked him and tried to get his gun, ABC News reported.
The Orlando Sentinel reported Monday authorities said on the night of the Feb. 26 incident and in subsequent meetings George Zimmerman described and re-enacted what he said happened. He told police he had followed the youth because he was behaving suspiciously but turned around after losing sight of him…
… Zimmerman told authorities he was walking back to his sport utility vehicle when the 17-year-old approached him from behind. The two exchanged words, with the teen asking the Zimmerman volunteer if he had a problem and when the man replied no, allegedly said something to the effect “Well, you do now,” the Sentinel said.
Zimmerman said Martin knocked him to the ground with one punch, then jumped on him and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times so hard he was bloodied and battered, the Sentinel said. He said he then shot Martin, who was unarmed, once in the chest from close range in self-defense.
ABC News reported a police source quoted Zimmerman as saying the youth had tried to get his gun.

Scary – New Black Panthers Offer $10,000 Bounty for the Capture of Trayvon Martin’s Shooter
The Trayvon Martin case is becoming a frightening issue, and professional violence-inciting racists are capitalizing on the tragedy in epic fashion.

Members of the New Black Panther Party are offering a $10,000 reward for the “capture” of George Zimmerman, the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who shot Trayvon Martin.
New Black Panther leader Mikhail Muhammad announced the reward during a protest in Sanford Saturday. And when asked whether he was inciting violence, Muhammad replied defiantly: “An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.”
The bounty announcement came moments after members of the group called for the mobilization of 10,000 black men to capture Zimmerman, who shot Trayvon in a gated Sanford community on Feb. 26.
Muhammad said members of his group would search for Zimmerman themselves in Maitland — where the 28-year old worked before the shooting, employees there told the Orlando Sentinel. He declined to say when the group would begin their search.
So where is the post-racial President, and his calming influence? Where is the man who somehow had the time to have a beer summit with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and Sgt. James Crowley, and referred to the incident as a “teachable moment”?

Clearly not all of the facts are out in this tragic case. I’m waiting for Attorney General Eric Holder, the man who dropped the charges against the neo-Panthers in the Philly case in 2009, to denounce this vigilante behavior.Yesterday racism-inciter Jesse Jackson added to the frenzy by declaring that “blacks are under attack.”
The reward was announced at a protest, one that included a chant of “freedom or death.”
The answer of course is, they have to figure out the political angle first. If it isn’t going to help the President win reelection, then it simply isn’t worth their time. Meanwhile, people are being tempted with thousands in cash to go vigilante in the community.
Of course, the New Black Panther Party is known for this kind of violent rhetoric. Back in 2000, the party’s leader, Malik Zulu Shabazz, was inciting violence in the community when he said:
“When we see caskets rolling and funerals in the black community … we will see caskets and funerals in the community of our enemy.”
