Occupier Charged With Assaulting Police Officer With Metal Pipe

April 16, 2012 at 3:00 pm (Alexander Penley, Assault, New York, Nicholas Thommen, NYPD, Occupy Wall Street)

I don’t remember this ever happening at a Tea Party rally…

On a side note, why haven’t these slugs gone home yet?  What can they possibly hope to achieve, besides the ability to urinate and defecate in public?

Via Gothamist:

According to police, the two men who were arrested in front of the Sixth Street Community Center last night allegedly assaulted an NYPD sergeant with a metal pipe in front of the Starbucks on Astor Place. One of the men, 41-year-old Alexander Penley, is an attorney and has been an Occupy Wall Street organizer since the movement began in the fall.

Penley, along with 30-year-old Nicholas Thommen, were arrested around 10 p.m. after what witnesses described as a violent scuffle between the two men and police officers, and are charged with a litany of offenses, including assaulting a police officer, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and inciting a riot.
Penley has been quoted in stories about Occupy Wall Street in The Guardian and USA Today, and appeared on the local Manhattan television show Let Them Talk in October.

A police report of the incident provides even further details:

The NYPD’s press release on the arrests refers to them as “anarchist-related arrests of individuals among a group of 25 who fought with police and who had tried to use eight-foot-long galvanized metal pipes to smash windows of a Starbucks at Astor Place and Lafayette Street at 8:45 p.m.” The police also claim that patrons of Starbucks were hiding under the tables during the incident.

The release states that an NYPD lieutenant also sustained injuries in the incident, but there is no mention of their severity. After police took one man into custody outside the Starbucks, “At an after-party at the 6th Street community center within the confines of the 9th Precinct, police were assaulted again as they took a suspect outside of the location there into custody.”

British Member of Parliament Puts $16 Million Bounty on President Obama, George Bush

April 16, 2012 at 11:00 am (Britain, George W. Bush, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, Lord Nazir Ahmed, Muslims, Parliament, President Obama, Radical Islam)

And herein lies the reason London is slowly turning into Londonistan…

Via the Express Tribune:

In an expression of solidarity with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, British parliamentarian of Kashmiri origin Lord Nazir Ahmed has announced a reward for the captor of US President Barack Obama and his predecessor George W Bush.
He made the announcement at a reception arranged in his honour by the business community of Haripur on Friday. Former foreign minister Goher Ayub Khan, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl’s (JUI-F) central leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed and provincial Minister for Education Qazi Muhammad Asad were also present on the occasion.
Lord Nazir said that the bounty placed on Saeed was an insult to all Muslims and by doing so President Obama has challenged the dignity of the Muslim Ummah.
“If the US can announce a reward of $10 million for the captor of Hafiz Saeed, I can announce a bounty of 10 million pounds on President Obama and his predecessor George Bush,” Lord Nazir said, adding that he would arrange the bounty at any cost even if he was left with the option of selling all his personal assets, including his house.
Criticising the bureaucracy in Pakistan for its alleged corruption, he said a number of British investors had been mulling investment in Pakistan but the deep-seated culture of corruption had turned them off.

Atlas Shrugs adds the details:

Once again, devout Muslims show us whose side they are on in the war on the West. Lord Nazir Ahmed has announced a reward for the captor of US President Barack Obama and his predecessor George W Bush…

Atlas readers know this lord of the Nazis well. He is the jihadi who threatened the House of Lords with protests and demonstrations if they did not cancel their invitation to Geert Wilders to screen FITNA. Lord of the nazis called for the arrest of British Jews who fought in the IDF.

Weasel Zippers has now announced that Ahmed has been suspended saying, “Even the Brits have their limits.”

Via Daily Mail:

A Labour peer was suspended last night after allegedly claiming he would put up a £10million bounty for the capture of Barack Obama.
Lord Ahmed of Rotherham is reported to have made the gesture after the U.S. announced a $10million bounty for Hafiz Muhammed Saeed, whom it blames for orchestrating the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
He is said to have described the bounty on Mr Saeed, who founded banned militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), as an ‘insult to all Muslims’.

How long until this suspension is decried as Islamophobic?

Dick Cheney Speaks From the Heart: Obama an ‘Unmitigated Disaster’

April 16, 2012 at 7:00 am (Dick Cheney, Disaster, Hindenburg, Liz Cheney, Mitt Romney, President Obama, Republican Party, Wyoming)

Dick Cheney should apologize – to unmitigated disasters everywhere.

The Hindenburg looks at this administration as a disaster.

From the Daily Caller:

Former Vice President Dick Cheney walked onstage without any assistance and spoke for an hour and 15 minutes without seeming to tire in his first public engagement since he underwent a heart transplant three weeks ago.
He sat in a plush chair throughout the long chat with daughter Liz Cheney and looked decidedly healthier than recent appearances where he has been gaunt and used a cane.
Cheney even threw in a couple of political plugs amid much reminiscing at the Wyoming Republican Party state convention in Cheyenne on Saturday.
He said the presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is going to do a “whale of a job.” He said it’s never been more important than now to defeat a sitting president and the Republican Party should unite behind Romney.
“He has been an unmitigated disaster to the country,” Cheney said of President Barack Obama.

Good to see Cheney still has the heart of a fighter…
